(This was my original plan: (Ok XD, so maybe they travel for a while, then something happens and they get found by some soldiers? The soldiers don’t know Jay is what he is and they take both of them into the base both to try to recruits them and to help them for a little while. They mention something about fighting the aliens and Delia is interested while Jay is ready to leave. Something major happens between the two of them, either good or bad and they either leave or split up or help the army, or maybe they find out what Jay is and more things happen? I dunno, the idea just popped into my mind, we don’t have to do it if you don’t want to))
(lol alright XD)
Jay smiled. "Yeah." Plus I can find escape routes… But he didn't want to say that to her. She…she seemed to like it here, and he didn't want to ruin that for her.
Her smile grew and she set Leo back down, grabbing her crutches and standing up, "Let's go explore then."
Jay smiled, and stood. "Alright." he went over to her. Leo barked happily, wagging his tail.
"Where should we start first?" She asked, looking around at all the possible hallways branching off of the room, "There are so many possibilities."
"I don't know. Pick a random direction and start walking?" He replied with a soft chuckle.
Delia laughed and nodded, "Sure, let's start with…that hallway." She pointed towards a random hallway and smiled, starting towards it without another word.
Jay smiled, and walked beside her. Leo barked, and trotted beside them happily, tail wagging. Jay glanced down at the puppy for a moment.
"So, how do you like this place so far?" She asked, looking around at all the different doors and the occasional hallway that split off.
Jay shrugged. "I don't know. It's not my favorite place." He replied slowly.
Delia glanced over at him, not adding her personal comment but just asking a question, "Why don't you like it?"
Jay gave her a deadpan look. "Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because if they knew what I was, they would kill me for it. Or lock me up and run experiments to see what makes me tick, how the aliens did it."
"But they won't, and if they do, I'll be standing by your side in whatever cell they stick you in," She replied with a slight smile, "This place is amazing, I mean, look at all the food."
"You don't know that. They might find out, and they might not stick you in a cell." He shook his head a little. "Food, maybe. But it doesn't make up for the danger."
"Trust me, if they find out, I'm not leaving your side, even if it means I have to do something crazy to be stuck in that cell next to you. I'll break us out even." She shrugged and looked around, "I mean, it does make up for the danger to an extent. Food can make up for a lot of things."
Jay shrugged slightly. "It won't be that simple, Delia." He replied calmly, shaking his head. "And maybe food can to you, but not to me."
Delia glanced up at him and nodded, listening to the pitter patter of Leo's paws as he followed closely behind them, "I know it won't be that easy, it'll be even easier since you won't get caught."
Jay chuckled softly. "Mm. Alright." he replied, shaking his head a little. "Hopefully I won't."
"You won't," She repeated again with a smile, almost overly confident of both her and Jay's abilities to keep his secret a secret.
Jay huffed out a soft laugh. "If you say so." he replied. He glanced down at Leo, then back at the hallway ahead of them.
Delia bumped him with her hip as they walked and her smile reappeared, "So, what do you want to do after we walk the halls?"
Jay shrugged a little. "I don't know." he replied, looking around. "We'll have to see, I guess."
"Alright, I'll bug you when my arms get sore," She said, glancing at Leo and continuing to walk with him past branching off hallways and rooms with various labels, anything from one labeled a library to another labeled a gym and a third labeled 'Authorised Personnel Only'.
"Alright." Jay replied. He looked at the door with the label for a long moment, then returned his attention to her.
"Ooh we should stop by the library later," She said, looking back at the door with a smile, "Since I can't really workout in the gym."
