She nodded, stopping for a minute to readjust her grip on her crutches and quickly catching up to them, "It's made it a lot easier, Jay is a huge help, especially when it comes to carrying things. And Leo keeps me occupied since I have to make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble."
Jay smiled. "Thanks." He said with a laugh, even though he knew she wasn't talking to him. Leo barked happily at the sound of his name.
Caspian laughed but Delia just smiled and shrugged, looking over at Jay and Leo, "It's true though, they're amazing."
Finally they reached the cafeteria and Caspian motioned for them to keep going as he stopped, "Well, it was nice talking to you Delia, stay out of any more restricted areas please and I'll see you around."
"Right, because I'm just the invisible tail." Jay mumbled, walking over to Delia's side and setting Leo down. Leo wagged his tail happily, then growled at Caspian.
"Hey, watch out for her," He said, slapping Jay's shoulder in sort of a friendly gesture before laughing at Leo's little growl and leaving.
Delia watched him leave and shook her head, scowling at his retreating form, "He bugs me. I don't like that he doesn't acknowledge your existence."
Jay bit back his own growl at the touch, stiffening and pressing his lips in a firm line. He sighed, and looked at Delia. "Yeah. Me too." he replied with a tight smile.
"He seemed happy when I called you my friend too," She continued, her mind working as she looked up at Jay and then at Leo, "I wonder if he's bothering us to figure out if we're together."
Jay nodded a little. "Mhm. Nothing makes a guy happier than hearing another get friend zoned." He replied with a laugh.
"Then you should be ecstatic," She replied with a laugh, understanding what he was talking about, "Since only one of you two are friendzoned, and it's not the one I'm talking to right now." Delia shrugged and glanced at Leo with a smile, "You don't like Caspian either, do you?"
Jay laughed a little. "Alright." He replied. He tried to ignore the strange feeling that flickered through his chest at that. He looked at Leo. Leo wagged his tail happily, and nudged her leg with his nose.
"I'll take that as a yes." She smiled brighter at the puppy and then around at where they were, "Maybe we could check out that library right now, since we got kicked out of the other hallway."
Jay chuckled, and nodded. "Alright. Let's go." He replied. He started heading towards the library.
Delia nodded and walked alongside him, watching as Leo quickly caught on and trotted after them with a wagging tail.
Jay smiled for a moment. "You know…I'm not sure they'll allow dogs in the library." He remarked.
"I'm sure they'll allow Leo once they see how adorable he is," She replied with a matching smile, looking down at the puppy and how curious he was as he wandered after then and sniffed everything in sight.
Jay smiled. "Mm. I bet so." he replied, and looked at the puppy as well. Leo was bounding around the hallway, staying near them as he sniffed at everything in sight.
Delia stopped in front of the library doors and waited for Leo to catch up with a smile before opening the door and heading inside.
Jay smiled at her and the puppy, and held the door for Delia as they went inside. He looked around with a faint smile, thinking of the stained book in his bag, back in the room.
The library wasn't huge, but there were several rows of books running through the room, each labeled with the genre. Delia smiled at the older man who was sitting behind the librarian's desk and continued looking around, noting the chairs and few other places to sit that were around, with a few being occupied as well by soldiers or other regular people.
Jay looked around the room, then at Delia. "Well. Shall we find some books?" he suggested. He picked Leo up and tucked him under one arm before the puppy could start causing trouble.
She nodded eagerly and walked towards the shelves of books, happy when the librarian just smiled at Leo. It had been so long since she'd had the chance to read a book, it wasn't something that she was able to do freely when she was out surviving on her own.
Jay smiled and followed her over. He grabbed a book off the shelf, flipping through it, then putting it back.
Delia soon was busy looking through the shelves, smiling when she recognised some books and pulling others out to read the back and see if she wanted to read any. There was a wide variety as well, from old textbooks to nonfiction all the way to fantasy and fiction. The part she was currently exploring was the fiction section and all its tales.
Jay kept looking, Leo still tucked under his arm. The little puppy squirmed and wiggled, trying to escape his hold. When Jay didn't let go, Leo let out a bark. Jay sighed, and reached over, gently holding the puppy's mouth shut. "Shh." he said softly.
(uggg lol I'm trying to think of things that could get this rp going a little faster again since I'm bored of just writing little snippets lol)
Delia found herself lost in a book after a few minutes, one of her favorites. She had pulled it off the shelf to read the first page but before she knew it she was pouring over it, standing in one of the aisles propped up on her crutches with the book in her hands.
