(He's somewhere in the middle of the two groups. His family isn't rich or poor, but they are powerfull mages and they tend to travel, so he's nice I guess.)

Risa walked into the dining hall after getting dressed and ready for the day. She looked around for Olive as she came in, but she realized that at this point, she didn't have a lot of time to eat. She shrugged it off and decided to grab a pastry to make it quick.

Sylvain kept his eyes away from Shay and Jasper, and he ate his breakfast. His stomach felt a bit unsettled with worry, between this being his first day, and the idea of already having made enemies- at least, sort of.

Olive noticed Risa and waved, hoping she would see. The boys at their table were so weird, especially Mre and Jasper (at completely opposite ends of the spectrum).

Archer glanced at Sylvain as he ate. He seemed really uncomfortable, but Archer was horrible at comforting people. He wished he could think of a way to help Sylvain feel better.

@Becfromthedead group

Risa nodded at Olive and walked over.
"See? I made it," she said, "I can't say I like this uniform, though… It's a little more revealing than I'd like. Luckily they let us wear tights with it."

Sylvain saw Archer look at him and decided maybe instead of acting all scared, he should distract himself by officially meeting people who might actually like him.
"Hey, I don't think we've talked much yet. Uh… so how's everything going so far? Hopefully they aren't giving you too hard of a time," he said, indicating Shay and Jasper.

@MusicElle-is-here

Olive giggled. “I like it,” she said. “If you want I can help you alter it. I’m pretty decent with a sewing machine.”

“It’s going all right,” Archer responded. “Thankfully Jasper didn’t do much besides glare at me last night, and the other guy hasn’t looked at me. How is everything with you?”

@Becfromthedead group

"I might ask if I can use a boys' uniform instead," Risa muttered, "Or at least the pants… I think it looks good, but not so much on me.

"My rooming situation is okay. Shay and Lander are kind of… unsavory characters, to put it lightly. I think I'm going to like rooming with Blair, though," Sylvain replied, "At least it wasn't Jasper."

@MusicElle-is-here

“Whatever makes you comfortable,” Olive agreed. “I think the pants from the boys’ uniform would look great on you!”

“Their whole group seems to be more or less the same, except Mre, I think that’s his name,” Archer agreed. “And Eric put protection jars on both of our beds, so hopefully that does the trick.”

@Becfromthedead group

"You think so?" Risa asked, "Thanks. In the meantime, I'll just have to put up with these tights. They're good enough, I suppose."
She reached for a plate and put some fruit and a pastry on it, then started eating.

"True. It's not going to be easy going here, but we might as well stick it out until the end, even if it's only to prove a point to those sickos," Sylvain said, "That said, I'm glad you guys are taking measures to protect yourselves."
He stopped for a moment, thinking.
"You don't think he actually means any of that stuff he said to me, right?" he asked, his voice falling to a whisper, "Jasper, I mean? Because if he does…"
Sylvain made a small, disgusted noise.

@MusicElle-is-here

Olive nodded before taking a bite of cereal. “Are you excited for your classes this year?”

“I hope he doesn’t,” Archer agreed, his brows furrowing. “But if he tries anything, he’ll have to go through me first. He is such a creep.” Archer shuddered.

@Becfromthedead group

"I think so," Risa answered, "I'm more concerned about doing well in them, if I'm being honest. I'd consider myself more nervous than excited. How about you? Doing better than that at least?"

Sylvain's nose scrunched up a little bit. "Creep is right… Well, I'm sure he won't do anything too bad to us. And if he does, we just fight back."

@hollow-boned

Jasper perked up as one of the kids said his name, a little louder than they should've. He looked at them from the corner of his eye and grinned wrily.
"Awww, I'm so popular now," he crooned at Shay. "Wonder what they're saying about me. I'm sure they think I'm cool and they're saying we should be friends. Maybe we should, I don't know….go and show them how friendly we can be? I mean, we're not bad guys, we're just misunderstood, right?"
Cleaver shot towards Layla's toast, then shrank back with lightning speed, a piece of crust between his teeth.

@MusicElle-is-here

“I’m a bit nervous too,” Olive admitted. “I want to do well, and I’m also nervous that those rats will outdo us, if I’m honest. And that isn’t gonna happen.”

Archer nodded. “Yeah, I want to show them that we can’t be pushed around,” he sighed.

@Becfromthedead group

It might… Risa thought to herself. She shifted her gaze downwards.
"No, of course not. But that doesn't mean we can goof around," she said, "It would suck if they outdid us because we slacked off."

Sylvain smiled, feeling a little more confident.
"That's right. I'm glad to know I've got people like you on the same side as me. If nothing else we 'street rats' have a fighting spirit."

@MusicElle-is-here

“Exactly,” Olive agreed. “So we have to do our best, not that I don’t do that normally…but you know what I mean.” She smiled at Risa.

“Yeah,” Archer said, smiling from the compliment. “We’re a team. They don’t even seem to all like each other, so we’ve already got an advantage.”

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, I know," Risa confirmed, "It's not you I'm worried about. There are a lot of people here who think they can get everything without any sort of trying, but that's certainly going to come back to bite them. Anyway, I'd be glad to study with you as needed. We have to stick together."

"There are way more of them than of us, but yeah, you're right. Even in such a small group, that makes us so much harder to break," Sylvain agreed.
He yawned and stretched a little bit. He was already just a bit more relaxed.

@MusicElle-is-here

“I hope that the idiots here don’t make us all look stupid,” Olive sighed. “But I’m happy to study with you as well. I’m glad we ended up in the same dorm this year.”

Archer shot Sylvain a smile before yawning himself. “We’ll show them that we’re not defined by not being rich and stuffy,” he added, upbeat.

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, but luckily, we can at least determine our own grades," Risa said, "And me too. You're very nice to be around."

Sylvain chuckled. "Hah, I wouldn't want to be defined by being rich and stuffy when you put it like that. If nothing else, we definitely have a lot more character to us. I swear, most of their personalities so far have literally been 'I'm better than you because I'm rich and learned real magic.' Kind of pathetic if you ask me."

@hollow-boned

Eric woke to a wing smacking him in the face.
"Wha-"
He snatched the wristwatch from the nightstand and looked at it. 8:50.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit," he chanted as he careened around the empty bedroom, brushing his teeth at the same time as shoving textbooks in his backpack. Navy sat on the edge of the bed, cleaning herself, and he stopped for a second to press a kiss to her forehead.
"I'm sorry, you're probably hungry too."
She flapped her wings and went back to preening, not seeming too upset. Eric threw his already tied tie around his neck like a scarf and looked in the mirror. His hair was disheveled, he had shadows under his eyes, his clothes were wrinkled, and his stomach growled loudly.
He opened the door and started sprinting down the hallway, almost spraining an ankle as he took the stairs two at a time.

@MusicElle-is-here

Olive blushed a bit at the compliment. “Thanks,” she replied. “Let’s just do our best and hope that Jasper doesn’t murder someone.”

Archer laughed too. “Yeah, they need personality transplants or something,” he agreed. “Especially Jasper. I’m so glad that none of us are like him, or I’d be a lot less happy to hang around with everyone.”

@Becfromthedead group

Sylvain's laughter went into little giggles.
"Personality transplant? That's one way of putting it. But yeah, I'm glad not everyone around here's that dull."

@hollow-boned

(disaster boy is here)
Eric stumbled towards the table and sat next to Archer with a thud.
"Mornin', guys," he mumbled, running a hand through his tragic hair. His shirt had three buttons undone; he'd need to take care of that at some point.
Navy hopped on the edge of the bread plate and started ripping chunks out, crumbs flying everywhere.
