School started again and I'm already bored so fuck yeah new RP!
This is based off of this pinterest post and also a couple other random ones (https://www.pinterest.at/pin/AU_sGzUUR47guE3hSwkaPo41_sKZHpaPeLD0E8UXh7f61YHoNlOXfWk/)

This will be the story of a bunch of kids who up until this point only learned street magic, aka spells that have been verbally passed down (as opposed to in some fancy ass expensive book), weird and cheap potion ingredients that work just as well, pentagrams done in graffiti (as opposed to a really fancy one with special chalk and shit), charmed jewelry and makeup and tattoos to protect you and help you in your daily life, and people learning magic from their parents (as opposed to an overly expensive school). We're gonna deal with magical classism its gonna be great.

The Magical Organization of America (or MOA) heavily regulates the sale of magical goods. All magical goods for sale on a professional scale must be made with standard regulation ingredients. All magical summoning must be done with standard regulation methods. Three (maybe four, maybe five who knows) kids who have learned magic off of the street most of their life will now attend the MOA School for Young Mages on scholarship. These children are very powerful but unfortunate do not comply with regulation equipment (and are therefore looked down upon by students and faculty alike). And maybe the new kids start a revolution, who knows?

So yeah. Get creative with how your student does street magic and this should be fun. Every student will have a familiar, no matter their background. ALSO everyone will play a character that does traditional magic and one that does street magic, so we can keep it even. If there is one person that wants a traditionally magical character and one person that wants a street magic character, those people don't have to do two characters, but I do want this to be even.

1. Be nice to your fellow rp-ers. I'll kick you out if you don't follow this rule.
2. Please make your characters diverse and interesting.
3. Romance is okay, just don't plan it, let it happen.
4. I can prohibit you from joining for any reason and it may simply be because your writing style isn't right for this rp. If I haven't rp-ed with you recently, I may ask you to provide me with a sample of yuor writing or a link to a recent rp you were/are in.
5. Give me drama (in the rp). The traditional kids probably aren't gonna be the nicest to the street kids so give me that.

Appearance: Curly, blonde, chin length hair. She's 5'4 and a thin little bean. She has light/medium skin. Her nose and cheeks have a smattering of freckles across them. One of her eyes is bright blue and the other one is hazel. Her face is round.
Main Personality Traits: Very very brave and bold. Not one to back down from a challenge (in fact she's a little too competitive). Always ready to fight you but she would also probably die for you. Takes crazy risks, very imaginative, as a kid, she was often told she has an "over-active imagination". Pssh. As if. She doesn't seem like it (because she is often in her own little world, or at least looks like it) but she is very perceptive and will notice small changes in people (and familiars). Very social and loves to talk to people. A HUGE dork. Always pranking people, always teasing people, makes as many puns as she can.
Magical Background: Her older sister was trained at the MOA School for Young Mages, but after she completed her training she began to experiment with different types of magic. She taught Aster all the things she experimented with. Her sister's friends have also taught her magic. As a result, she's learned a lot of healing magic because most of her sister's friends are witches.
Other background: Her father left shortly after she was born and as soon as she was of age, her older sister took her away from her mother. She doesn't remember much of either of their parents. Her sister basically raised her.

His father is very distant and his mother is often sick. However, his parents do listen to him and will do most requests he makes.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Casual but expensive jeans and shirts and sneakers that are way too expensive.
Familiar: A fox named Sasha. She has been Lander's familliar for a very long time.

She's super thin, with barely any curve, and pale skin littered with unsual scars. Kiki also has a number of traditional japanese tattoos all around her body. Long, long, straight black hair with a thick fringe of blunt bangs. Doll like features, but a bit on the crueler side ie: big brown eyes with long lashes, but always cold and uncaring. Full pouty lips (always painted bright red) that are either smirking or frowning. This girl has an RBF that would make the Pope uncomfortable.
Main Personality Traits: Tough as nails, arrogant, a wee bit cold and aloof. Wildly intelligent, yet stubborn. Has a hard time both expressing and understanding emotion (my girl has Alexithymia)
Magical Background: Trained thoroughly by private instructors in magecraft, although not by formal tutors.
Other background: Kiki is the bastard child of an extremely wealthy japanese businessman (who may or may not be a leader of the japanese mob) and a young hedge mage, he had an affair with. Kiki was raised by her mother (who despised her) until her mother decided that Kiki's abilities where better suited under ther father's care. Her father (who adores her over his other legitimate children) recognized Kiki's talents as her magecraft was similar to his own, so he allowed oter mages under his less-than-legal employment teach her everything they knew. Which turned out to be a mix of both ancient japanese magecraft teachings and street magic. She excels at both and this caught the eye of the MOA School for Young Mages.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Kiki is a lil punky goth bitch. Black on black every day all day. Typically black skin tight ripped jeans with doodles on them (that she did herself and match her tattoos), black tshirt, and a coat. Favorite/Specialized form of magic: Offensive magic mostly, that her prior 'schooling' mixed with martial arts. She's really good at sealing magics and glamours as well. Interested in learning more about potions.
Other: Kinda sensitive about the whole 'bastard' thing because she was shunned by the rest of her father's family, but she only wants to make him proud. She is a bit on the 'bad' side as she wants to inherit her father's 'alleged' position within the mob instead of his legal businesses (But she plans on inheriting all his money as well, even if she has to take it by force).

Appearance: Shay is rather tall at 5'10, and is a bit on the stocky side. Strong Irish features, with deep set dark green eyes, long nose, pert pale lips, strong jaw. Main Personality Traits: Intelligent, somewhat sarcastic and extroverted. Life of the party, he is always charming everyone around him, but not necessarily in a good way, he's seductive like a siren. Strong ideals and the anti-heroic type. He's an asshole, but you can't figure out why because he appears so nice.
Magical Background: Born into a long line of female celtic mages, Shay is the only boy born into his family bloodline and was taught all his magic orally by his aunties and grandmother.
Other background: Shay's father died when he was very young and his mother passed of a sickness that could not be cured by magic or by medicine, so he was left to be raised by his grandmother and his aunties who are descendants of the old pagan mages of old. They raised him on their spoken magic which he was able to master with ease.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Usually just jeans, comfy sweatshirt and docs.
Familiar: A crow named, Layla.

Appearance: Blair has usual Icelandic features, the pale skin, and the extreme tallness. He looks quite feminine but isn't any less handsome. His hair is a rich chocolate brown and is extremely messy from his hood always being on his head. His eyes are and olive green and he has scars covering his entire face. Some look like acid burns while others are unable to be guessed.
Main Personality Traits: Blair is often seen as a delinquent, even if he didn't do what he did. He has a habit of laughing at the wrong moment and always sees the darker sides of things. He doesn't seem like he is, but he is very, very paranoid.
Magical Background: Blair was taught what he knew by the smugglers that raised him, he didn't have a fancy tutor or have anyone paid to teach him shit. He learned it the good old ways, with alcohol spiked potions and homemade smoke bombs.
Other background: His mama and papa were killed in the crossfire of a hit. He was found by two smugglers who were trying to raid his car after they saw it wrecked. They took Blair in and taught him the life of fun and crime.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Blair wears a coat with large sleeves and fluffy lining around the neck area that ends about where a necklace could comfortably hang. He has shorts that are rolled up to midthigh and black thermal tights underneath them. Blair has adopted a style that looks a bit like his mission clothes, but more modern. If he were to go into town he would have an oversized sweatshirt on and some sweatpants. When he doesn't have to interact with anyone, he prefers to keep his mission clothes on.

(okay, this was my starter for an rp i made about alice in wonderland basically coming to life so it’s a bit longer than my typical responses, which are usually a paragraph or two)

Alexander woke up from the reoccurring dream he had been having recently drenched in sweat. He reached his hand up to feel his cheek, expecting to feel his skin, just like normal, but he could actually feel where the tree had scratched him as he ran. He felt his stomach drop. That wasn’t normal, and neither was the note that certainly hadn’t been on his desk before.

Glancing at the alarm clock, Alexander saw it was only ten minutes before he was supposed to wake up for school anyway, so he first went to put a band-aid on his cheek, hoping his dad would think it was from…he wasn’t sure. It wasn’t like he played any sports. At least the mark wasn’t too big.

The next thing he did was turn on the lamp he had on his nightstand, shedding light on the note his dream said would there. Alexander’s heart was pounding as he read. This couldn’t be happening to him. He was the average somewhat-nerdy kid; he wasn’t supposed to get sucked into other-dimensional problems. Was Wonderland another dimension? His head hurt just thinking about it. Just then his alarm clock went off and he jumped, before turning it off.

Alexander got ready for school just like usual, trying to pretend nothing out of the ordinary had happened. He managed to evade any questions about his new injury, and got out of the door quickly. He started his crappy old car, and looked at the clock. “Oh shit! I’m going to be late!” he muttered. “Again.”

He hurried off towards his highschool, parking in the parking lot. Just before he walked inside, he found a website where people could post things about weird occurrences, and wrote a quick summary about what had happened to him. Maybe someone will come forward and say this happened to them too, he thought. Then I can know I’m not going crazy.

Then the bell rang, jolting him from his thoughts. He was officially late. The universe had an annoying sense of humor.

Main Personality Traits: Archer is a man of few words. He says what he needs to say, straight to the point, but doesn’t elaborate unless he is asked to. He doesn’t smile too often and more serious in demeanor, which is not what most people expect when they look at him. Despite being someone who doesn’t talk a lot, Archer isn’t shy. He seems calm and grounded on the outside, but is really not.
Magical Background: Archer never had the luxury of being able to practice magic freely, since his mom and stepdad didn’t approve. After his parents split up, Archer’s mom didn’t allow magic, so he had to find ways to do it on his own, like through his art.
Other background: His dad used magic, and his mom was okay with it at first, but she later on claimed that as one of the reasons that they got divorced and wouldn’t allow Archer to practice it because it reminded her (Archer’s mom) of his dad.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Archer usually just wears whatever is comfortable, typically a sweatshirt and jeans with sneakers.

Other background: Olive’s parents, unlike Archer’s, are fairly well off. They aren’t always around, however, and that leaves Olive feeling lonely and takes a toll on her self esteem, since her parents seem to be more focused on their jobs and social lives than her.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Anything vintage. Olive loves old-fashioned dresses, plaid skirts, high-waisted jeans, and graphic shirts a lot.
