Shay was hopelessly trying to get his tie properly adjusted but was having zero luck, one of the unfortunate draw backs of being the only male in a house of traditional women. He yanked the damn thing off, almost resorting to a simple spell to get it right when he heard Lander slide into the chair next to him. Layla gave a soft crow to his friend, from atop Shay's head. "You should have seen the chick with the tattoos that rolled up in the Royce." He muttered to his friend, holding out his tie with a apologetic grin. "I know you fixed it for me yesterday, but… Oh hey, Mre." Shay trailed off shrugging. Lander knew that nothing Shay touched stayed neat.

Kikiro slid through the crowd with ease, Calcifer wrapped around her neck like a fur collar. He hissed at anyone that he thought got too close to his master. This was an entirely new experience for the both of them, but her father had assured her that this was a good choice for her future in magecraft. Her acceptance into the MOA school had made him proud, and like hell Kikiro was going to disappoint him by refusing. Besides, there was much that she had to learn still.
Kikiro carefully sat in one of the last empty chairs, next to an excited looking girl with a snake around her throat. Calcifer peaked out of Kikiro's long hair at both the girl and the snake in curiosity. "We've never been in a place like this before." His voice tittered in her mind. Kikiro had to agree, her stomach knotted in uncomfortably. This usually meant she was…nervous. Yes, that was the right emotion. At least she thought so. She wondered how all this was going to work out.

"Thanks Ast. Gods above I hate this place, so many snobby people." Blair flopped into the seat, waving a bit to Kikiro. "Hey Kikiro, haven't seen you in a hot minute." He remarked, letting Goldie skitter down his arm to stand on his hand.

"Hey Shay, you having a problem with your tie again? Everytime I see it it's in a new messed up way." Mre teased. "I don't think I can say anything though, the only reason I have it right is from my papa."

@Moxie group

"Oh gods they're just letting anyone in now, aren't they?" Lander scoffed and he tied Shay's tie for him. He finished and sat back in his chair. Sasha yipped softly at Layla from her spot at Lander's feet. "Who are they going to let in next, normals? You have to have some talent, some prestige to be in here." Now that he looked around, the whole room was sprinkled with these new kids. Gods.

"Yeah, some dude called me a freshman. I'm pretty sure we're the same age," Aster complained to Blair. She turned to the girl who had sat down next to her. She had really cool looking tattoos all over her. "Hey! I don't think we've met! I'm Aster!"

Deleted user

"Ro, they're talking to you." Calcifer said, booping Kikiro on the nose with one of his tails. She turned, eyes alight with curiosity although the rest of her expression was somewhat aloof. "Oh hello Blair. It has been some time. Years in fact." A small smile softened her face. "I'm Kikiro. Kikiro Yamazuna. From Japan." She continued to Aster, holding out a tattooed hand.

Shay gratefully replaced his tie, looking around the room. The divide between the students was becoming more and more obvious as they flooded in. "Ah the riff-raff. I dare say that this year may be interesting though– Oh! I heard a rumor from Olivia Blackwell that a Yamazuna was accepted." Shay's eyebrows flicked up and the other boys and his smile turned ever so slightly nasty. "Honestly, what is MOA thinking accepting a crime lord's kid?"

@hollow-boned

(i'm a little confused but i'll make it work)
Eric shoved his hands in the pockets of his hoodie, simultaneously trying to slouch and keep his head as high as possible. Navy made a little cackling sound next to his ear and tugged reassuringly on one of his curls, almost losing her balance on his shoulder in the process. He huffed at her.
"Calm down, you dumbass," he muttered at her, scanning the theatre for his friends.

Jasper sat in the back of the group, feet propped up on the seat in front of him. Cleaver hung halfway out of the bag, his little paws shredding a piece of paper. Jasper was quiet, watching the conversation unfold with little interest. He was only around these people because they'd grown up together. Most of them were idiots, anyway.
He looked up from Cleaver's fidding just in time to catch Shay's remark, and an unpleasant sneer made its way onto his face. "It would be a pity if something happened to them."

@Moxie group

Lander raised an eyebrow at Jasper. "Yeah, good luck getting away with that shit with a crime lord's kid who isn't afraid to break the rules. He turned to Shay. "Think she's the one with the tattoos?"

Aster's eyes lit up even more as she shook Kikiro's hand. "Japan? That's really cool! Also awesome tattoos!" She held on to Kikiro's hand to better examine the tattoos on her arms. She poked at one. "Are they magic? I've always wanted a magic tattoo. Something to tell me the phase of the moon or something like that." Aster's voice was a bubbling, rushing river, flowing over in excitement.

@hollow-boned

Jasper grinned at him shamelessly. "I don't care much about rules either."

Eric finally laid eyes on them. He sat next to Aster with a heavy sigh. "Hey." He looked at the stranger, only just realizing he'd dropped in mid-conversation.

"Hey Eric." Blair said, pushing up his sleeve to show a small tattoo of a rune. "This is the only visable one I have, it's mostly for divination, since I need all the help I can get with that." He laughed.

"I wouldn't do that." Mre said, raising an eyebrow and shooting a glance over to the small group of new kids. "Two of them look pretty threating, the crime lord kid and the one with the scorpion. They both look like they could skin you alive then suck the meat off your bones."

@MusicElle-is-here

Olive practically hopped into an empty seat near the others, glancing with distaste at the new kids before returning her gaze back to her friends. “What are we talking about?” she asked. Prince croaked his agreement from his seat on her shoulder.

Archer looked around for someone he knew, his eyes scouring the group of kids. He wasn’t good with crowds and had absolutely no desire to interact with anyone new. He had almost given up and gone to sit by himself when Bellamy gave a sharp caw, directing Archer’s attention to the others. “Thanks Bell,” he mumbled to his familiar, hurrying to join their group.

“Hi everyone,” Archer said, sitting at the edge of the group with a small smile.

"By the old gods, Jasper, we don't mean to kill the kid." Shay started looking faintly annoyed. His accent rang as he continued, shooting Jasper and Lander dubious looks. Shay shrugged to answer Lander's question, then gave his friend a sly look. "If she is, she's pretty damn hot–for a street mage that is."

Kikiro blinked in surprise, not entirely used to someone being so animated towards her or someone touching her for that matter. Both she and Calcifer stared at the other girl for a moment before remembering that she had asked Kikiro a question. "Summoning. They're for summoning. Fire based offensive magic." She gave Aster that tiny smile again, tapping the dragon inking on her arm. The dragon blinked, flicking it's ink tongue at the onlookers.
Kiki looked up at the new comer, realizing at the last second that she had sat within a group of young mages that were already friends. Heat spread up her high cheekbones. "You're embarrassed." Calcifer supplied. "Yes, thank you. I can figure it out on my own." Kikiro thought towards her familiar.

@hollow-boned

Jasper laughed mirthfully at Mre's remark. It was not a pleasant laugh. Then he raised his eyebrows at Shay. "Oh, i never mentioned killing. You know what I'm into."

Eric leaned back a little at the dragon tattoo's movement. "Huh. Wish I could get something like that," he said in a low voice, trying not too look too appreciative. He hated seeming like he was willing to be anyone's fan; it didn't gain honest friends.

@Moxie group

Lander rolled his eyes. This was getting into dangerous territory. "Shut up Jasper, don't be weird." He turned to Shay. "Dude! Gross! That's the riff-raff we're talking about man. They probably shouldn't even be here."

"Woah!" Aster's eyes sparkled literal sparkles at Kikiro's tattoo. Sometimes magic just flowed out of her. "That's so cool!" She spun around so fast, if her hair was any longer it would have slapped Kikiro in the face. "Right?" she asked Eric. "We should totally do that together!"

@hollow-boned

Jasper chuckled. "A body's a body. Just because what's in their veins is filth, doesn't mean they can't look good."

Eric blinked at her enthusiasm, then smiled indulgently. "When I turn 18, sure. You know my dad doesn't like that stuff. Besides, I think I'm doing okay with my herb magic for now."

@Moxie group

"Ah!" Aster exclaimed, blinking her eyes dreamily. "Herb magic. You're so lucky. Herb magic is great. It smells so good." Her smile turned into a pout. "I'm not any good at it though. I wish I was. My sister is. I got the more summoning-y magical 'genes'."

(We got some Draco Malfoys up in here. lol)

Shay shrugged, smiling the kind of smile that made knees weak and hearts flutter. He had to agree with Jasper. "Riff-raff is fun to play with, Lander. Putting them in their place even more so. We'll see what kind of worthless street magic we are dealing with once classes start. All we need to do is remind this institution of were true power lies." He nudged Lander one more. "And that is with the old bloodlines."

Kikiro blinked, clearly baffled by Aster's enthusiasm. A small part of her was slightly pleased at the praise, and her lips continued to hold their smiling position. "It requires much training and meditation, but–" she started looking serious and cold once more. It was going to take most people some getting used to her resting bitch face. "But I would be happ–able to share my knowledge of the art with you."

@MusicElle-is-here

Olive rolled her eyes. “You guys are so weird,” she said. “They’re just poor a couple of poor street rats.” Yes, the girl they were talking about was hot, but Olive was not in the mood to pick on random people. If the scholarship kids were so beneath them, why did Olive’s friends even care? Though she supposed it might be interesting to tease them a bit.

Archer watched the others with interest, speaking up for once. “Is that offer extended to all of us? Because I would like to learn too, if you’re okay with it,” he added.

Deleted user

Blair looked interested. "I'd like to learn more, it seems pretty wicked." He nodded with a small shrug, Goldie climbed back onto his shoulder. "Rich kids looking at us, behind us, but still looking. Seem to be scheming." She told him, to which he laughed. "It seems some rich kids think we're competition." He said, jutting out a finger behind him.

@Moxie group

Aster whipped around in her seat so she faced the direction of where Blair’s finger was pointing. A bunch of boys and a girl lounged on some chairs a few rows ahead of them. She turned back around. “Oh yeah. I accidentally bumped into one of those boys. He called me freshman. I get it man, I’m short.”

“No Olive, they’re different. They don’t even use regular potion ingredients or regular methods. None of what they do is regulation. They’re breaking the law. And now they’re in our school.” He nodded to Shay and put his feet up on the chair in front of him. “Damn right old bloodlines.”

"I'm gonna do something about it," Blair said, standing up and leaving his bag on the table. "This isn't a good idea, do you want a fight?" Goldie asked, to which he responded with. "Hell yes." Blair started to walk up the isle, making eye contact with on of them.

Mre was watching him walk up the lane and shook one of his friend's arms. "The scorpion guy is coming this way." He whispered.

Deleted user

"Of course. I do not see why not. Offensive magic is actually kind of–fun." Kikiro said quietly, answering Archer's question. "Good job making friends, Ro!" Calcifer purred against her cheek, unfortunately his master was too distracted to respond. Kikiro's eyes followed the direction of Blair's trajectory until it landed on a group of young mages that looked like they had both way too much money and time on their hands. Arrogance oozed from the group like a fog. Kikiro frowned. Her father has warned her about the 'old bloodlines', but she never thought they'd be to blatant about it. She didn't think it wise to get into any altercation on the first day, but she made no move to stop Blair. More curious than worried.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here." Shay murmured, watching one of the street rats stride up to their group. Layla leaped down to his knee, wings flapping in warning. "He's looking to fight, Shay. Look sharp. I do not see anyone of authority around to stop him." Shay chuckled mirthlessly, his handsome features going cold and calculated. Just in case, he started up a small spell in the palm of his hand. No use not being prepared.

@Moxie group

(Shay's kinda hot in like an evil-ish way)
"Oh gods." Aster's heart rate spiked as she watched Blair march up to the mages. They looked dangerous; like they could beat him to a pulp. Cagney hissed, sensing Aster's anxiety. 'Please?' She thought to him, looking down at his little snakehead. Cagney nodded and slithered up the aisle after Blair. He would watch him and alert Aster to any trouble.

Lander's eye's lowered and his mouth twisted into a cruel smile. "Aw look, he has a death wish." Sasha hopped into his lap, facing the incoming street-mage. Her whole body was tense, ready to attack if necessary.

Deleted user

He stopped right in front of them. "Hi, I'll get right to the point. I can tell you're all rich assholes and not very pretty ones if I would say. So let's make an agreement, you stay away from my friends and you get to keep your fingers attached to your hand." Goldie looked about to strike, but didn't move.

@hollow-boned

(oop i was asleep man i missed a bit)
(and yeah Draco Malfoy indeed lmao jasper's a Big dickhead and he sounds like he just talks big but he's capable of a Lot of horrible things)

Eric paled as Blair spoke. "Oh fuck. Oh gods."

Jasper came alive at Blair's threat, a large grin involuntarily taking over his attractive features. "I told you they need to be taught a lesson," he said to Lander. "Go," he murmured to his ferret.
In a flash, Cleaver had scuttled up Blair's body, taken a hair from his head, and jumped neatly on Jasper's legs.

@Moxie group

Lander looked around at his friends, examining them all carefully. "I think we're all plenty pretty, right guys?" He did something. Sasha muttered to him, directing her attention at Jasper. I know. That wasn't Lander's problem right now. "We can do whatever the hell we want, and mess with whoever the hell we want, and you can't stop us. Now I think it's best that you leave," he said, any trace of a fake smile vanishing.

(Lol. That's the idea. I'm running with some chaotic characters right now. I think they both may be chaotic neutral.)

Kikiro continued to look on curiously, although her body was far from relaxed. It wouldn't take much to leap over the chairs and deliver a few good blows before the other realized what happened. Tilting her head to the side, she considered it, but she had promised her father that she would not mess up this opportunity. Kikiro's hand tightened into a fist on her leg. Calcifer lept from her shoulder to the floor, quickly moving his way down the aisle until he sat between the group of arrogant mages and Blair.

"Already causing issues, eh Street Rat?" Shay said, feigning relaxation. "We've done nothing but chat and you're threatening us. Doesn't seem like a good way to start the term." He kept his palm face down against his leg, but he could feel the little zaps from his spell.
