Risa had been listening to the boys talk about the new street mage girls, and she couldn't help but stare in disbelief. At first, she stayed pretty quiet about it, hood pulled over her head, but eventually, she could hardly contain her opinion on the matter anymore.
"With that kind of behavior, you're no better than they are," she whispered, just loud enough for them to hear.

Name: Sylvain Vesalius
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexual/Romantic Orientation: Pansexual
Appearance: 5'7, muscular but more tone than bulk, dark brown wavy hair, greenish eyes medium-light brown skin with golden undertones, has a few tattoos in more hidden places, but you can see the edges if he wears a shirt with a lower collar
Main Personality Traits: Extroverted, very intelligent but also a dumbass because usually when he's acting like that, it makes people smile, very adaptable and quick on his feet, generally a pretty kind guy but can also kick butt
Magical Background: Grew up in a big family (4 younger sisters and a younger brother, all of them fairly close in age) that couldn't afford to get him proper schooling in magic. He never expected them to and always made do. Sylvain learned how to read fairly early and fell in love with texts about magic. He particularly liked necromancy and once tried to use it to save the family dog after it died of old age. It didn't do what he thought it was supposed to do… However, after a bit more research and talking to his parents, he still returned to the practice. He also invested some time into protective magic and a few more offensive spells.
Other background: Big family, didn't have a lot growing up, as the oldest brother always has had a ton of responsibility.
Typical/favorite outfit (though there are school uniforms): Various T-shirts of different colors, dark gray bomber jacket, ripped jeans, work boots, likes wearing a little jewelry, including small necklaces. He also has a few ear piercings.
Familiar: Gray wolf named Murdoch. Literally just a full-sized wolf that follows him around, but is surprisingly very docile, well-behaved, and exceptionally helpful.
Likes: Parties and other social events, sunny days, taking walks outside
Dislikes: People who pick on those weaker than them, Stingy rich people, early mornings
Favorite/Specialized form of magic: Summoning/conjuring spells, particularly necromancy, also knows a bit about protection spells and some offensive elemental spells (among other offensive types), otherwise not so good at many magic forms

Lander looked behind him to find the source of the voice. He looked the girl up and down and laughed quietly. "Hey, Shay did say he was an asshole." He nodded, a wise look of peace on his face. "We are assholes, but we're self aware assholes." He winked. "But thanks for the concern."

"Ah, yes. I see," Risa murmured, "Self-aware, but still assholes…"
She sighed and glanced across the table. Eventually, she spaced out a bit, just staring at a wall way past Lander.
"Still kind of disgracing yourself and those who learn magic properly, but I suppose I can't stop you from being ridiculous and immature about it. Perhaps if you'd study more, you wouldn't run the risk of…"
Risa trailed off, feeling like what she was saying was hypocritical.

Mre just shook his head, he didn't know why he hung around the two idiots. At least Risa had tried, that's more then what he was going to do, which consisted of him sitting there ignoring them and focusing on the headmaster.

Shay arched a brow. "We're better than them, Sweetness. Street magic and their users have nothing compared to us old bloodlines. That's just how it is. We've been accepted by the MOA since it was created. They are just now getting recognition because of a few liberal politicians squawking and causing a fuss. They might as well be a different race of mage." Shay rolled his eyes, choosing not to continue on because he was beginning to sound like his grandmother. "Anyway Lander, tattoos are hot. Not to mention their probably a form of offensive magic. That will be fun to steal."

Risa tugged her hood down over her face, feeling a bit threatened by Shay.
"Just don't get outdone by those street rats, you hear me?" she said shakily, "That's the most important thing."
She peered over her hands to where the new kids were.
"They do seem pretty different, even at first glance," she admitted.

Jasper listened to their conversation, then shrugged and hummed low in his throat. "Well, I don't see why you'd like the blonde one, but that's your problem." He scanned the group for a few seconds. "Me, I'd personally go for the street rat. I like twinks and I like scars." He grinned. "Maybe I'd get to add a few of my own."

Olive rolled her eyes. “Why are boys so gross?” she wondered aloud, scrunching her nose in annoyance. She sometimes wondered why she hung around these guys. And hooking up with street rats! Ewww. Even if the blonde one was sort of pretty, the idea still made her roll her eyes.

Risa chuckled very softly at Olive.
"Disgusting, right?"

Sylvain stumbled in the back of the hall.
Oh no, I'm late, I'm late… It's my first day, and I'm already incredibly late!
He tried to find a place to sit, and in his panic, sat uncomfortably close to the group of traditional mages that includes Risa, Shay, and Jasper among others. He was practically bouncing around with nervousness, not to mention he'd unknowingly sat in one of the worst spots possible.

Mre gave a small laugh. "The twink looks like he'd give you more scars then you'd give him." He noted, mentally agreeing with the girls, but he needed to stay in these idiots good graces.

(rubs hands together)

Jasper tsked. "You don't know me at all, Mre. What a shame."

A boy sat down next to him, fidgeting nervously.

Jasper's interest was immediately piqued. With a slow, slow turn of his head, he took in the boy's figure. Nice body, underneath the trashy street clothing. He reached a lazy hand and poked Lander in the nape of the neck.
"What d'you think?" he murmured, directing Lander's attention to the newcomer.

Sylvain tilted his head at Jasper.
"Who, me?" he whispered, sort of trying to catch what the headmaster was saying.
He had really made a fool of himself.
Risa turned her attention to Sylvain, but she watched in total silence to see what unfolded.

Lander turned his head to the side and looked at Olive the picture of fuckboy innocence. "Aww, come on Olive, you know you love us," he said, blinking his long eyelashes.

Jasper smiled wrily. "I wasn't talking to you, gorgeous. But yeah, alright. What do you think of the principal?"

Shay turned his head too, so Olive was looking at two very attractive, very privileged mages smiling up at her. "Don'tcha Olive? Can't resist, eh?" He was just messing with his friend, but enjoyed the way she seemed to squirm in her seat. He had a way with charming people, one of the perks of his bloodline apparently. His grandmother says that they all have siren blood and that's why the people in his family can't be resisted when laying on the charm.

Lander turned and made a slow show of looking Sylvain up and down. "Not bad," he whispered to Jasper. "I like the jewelry and the muscles. Other than that not much to look at. Could be fun to play with."

(Yeah, I know. He's just spooked and is being stupid because he's spooked.)
Sylvain went a little rigid at the word "gorgeous." It sure didn't sound genuine, but he figured maybe it was better to go with it.
"Seems alright. Haven't been here long enough to tell," he replied.
At Lander's reply, he tugged at his collar a little bit. The edge of one of his tattoos showed, but only barely. He hadn't expected to immediately get flirted with here, even if it wasn't real.
