“I have no idea,” Archer sighed, a touch of a smile still on his lips. He was horrible with remembering things.

"Well, if I'd had time to pack my shit, we would've known since this morning. I don't even know where the rooms are," Eric said, rubbing at his jaw.
“It’s fine, we’ll figure it out,” Archer said, looking at Sylvain for some help. He forgot where he had put his schedule. Hopefully he’d figure out what he had before classes started.

Lander nodded at his reflection and ran out of his dorm, checking his watch. Shit. That had taken longer than expected. Shay had called him Narcissus on multiple occasions due to how long he spent looking in the mirror. He strutted into the cafeteria and slid into the seat next to Shay and immediately started spreading cream cheese on his bagel. “What did I miss?”
Blair had been munching on his food when he checked his schedule and gave out a quiet whoop. "We have potions next!" He said happily, finishing up his food with a smile. "I wonder how many different ingredients they'll have here, probably a lot!" It was hard to find him as excited as he was when talking about potions.

Archer wasn’t very good at potions, mainly because getting ingredients without raising his mother’s suspicion wasn’t the easiest task. The idea of being given everything he needed was astounding to him. “Yeah,” he agreed with Blair, excited (but not nearly as excited as the other boy). “This should be cool!”
Eric nodded. "If it's herb-based, I can do it with my eyes closed. I just hope they don't make us put anything too gross in them. Chopped caterpillars and other shit like that. Stars know what old magic is like." He paused, then added under his breath, "I kind of wish they'd actually let us do it with our eyes closed right now."
Archer widened his eyes for a moment before quickly reverting back to his normal expression. He had to remember that most people here probably didn’t have to hide their magic from overly-critical parents. “I definitely can’t do it with my eyes closed,” he laughed. I’m not sure I can get a good grade in that class with my eyes open, he added mentally.
Eric looked at him, frowning. "Really? You seem like someone who knows their shit. It's aight, though, I'll help you with anything you want," he added reassuringly, his sentence cut off by a huge yawn.
Archer blushed a little at the compliment. How had he given Eric that impression? He supposed his calm exterior did lead people to think he actually had his shit together. “Thanks, man.” He smiled.
"Nothing even remotely interesting." Shay said blandly. Layla's entire body had puffed up in offence at the stolen piece of toast. She squawked menacingly at the ferret, clipping her beak centimeters from the ferret's face, and clicking her shining talons on the table top. Shay didn't bother to try and stop her, annoyed that someone would allow their familiar to mess with her. "You'd thing that going to a magic school would make things more–fun." Shay continued towards his friend with a odd smile.
Jasper let his head fall back. "It's only been a day. People move pretty slow. Mmh. Well, if we ever get bored, there's always things to do. New kids to hurt."
He motioned towards Cleaver. "Come here, idiot." Cleaver scurried up his arm and settled on his shoulder.
I was just playing.
"Yeah, well, if you want to keep your eyes intact, you'd better cut it out. Don't steal shit."
Eric scratched a sigil into his plate with his fork, then traced it with his finger. It started to hover about a foot above the table. He watched it ascend until it hit the ceiling and stayed there. "So, what kind of magic do you do?" he said to Archer, eyes still up.
(Are eric and archer and blair all sitting with aster and kikiro?)
(Yeaj.)
Anything that I could sneak past my mom, he thought. “Mostly spells or summonings,” Archer said. “Things that don’t require much in the way of ingredients or materials. Defensive magic. What about you?”
Archer either had a terrible memory, or Eric did. Either way, Eric was pretty sure he'd already talked about it. "Uh, herb stuff, hearth stuff. I'm pretty good at making people fuck off, so I like banishing spells. Uh, you ever do art magick? Since you draw so much, it would be interesting, right?"
(archer has bad short term memory lol)
“Yeah, I’ve tried it,” Archer responded. “I like it. Some of my stuff does actually have magic. It’s the easiest way to do magic without anyone even knowing it’s magic.” He grinned, absent-mindedly moving his finger in circles on the table.
(bitch me too)
"Cool," Eric said with a smile, looking at Archer's fiddling. Keeping his eyes on it, he reached into his backpack and took out a handful of rosemary. He pressed a kiss to it, then blew it over Archer's hand. His finger movements started leaving burning marks into the table.
Archer glanced down, seeing the burn marks, but didn’t stop tracing circles into the table. He blushed, then looked back up at Eric, raising an eyebrow. Bellamy was definitely going to tease him about this later. Then again, his familiar teased him about everything.
(did not expect that)
Eric cackled. "Oh, come on, it's funny." He waved at it twice, stopping the smoke from raising before the teachers saw. Then he remembered something. "Wait, why would you need to make sure nobody knew you were doing magic?"
Archer sighed, wondering if his obvious astonishment at everything magical being so visible had given him away, or his earlier statement. Probably the latter. “No reason,” he said quickly, avoiding the topic.
It is not that big of a deal, Bellamy complained. He’s your friend. He’ll understand.
You underestimate my ability to avoid getting personal, Archer replied to his familiar. Though he knew he was being an idiot too.
