"I think that sounds like a wonderful idea," Cicada said looking over at him. She could look out the window and try to figure out where they were going, but that would ruin his little surprise. She instead kept an eye on him, "Though I think you should be the one in charge."
"Me? Why so?" Phoenix hummed a little, glancing over to her periodically. He was interested what she had to say, not having expected what she already had said. "I mean, I know I'm spectacular, but why specifically?"
"Oh, just I don't trust myself with that kind of power," Cicada told him looking down at her hands. They balled up into fists before relaxing once more as she let out a deep breath, "And I think you could handle it."
"Pfft, I can't even handle my homework sometimes." Phoenix laughed out, not seeming to notice her serious notes behind her words. His smile was still light hearted and playful. "I don't think I can rule the world alone."
"Oh definitely," Cicada laughed pushing away her darker thoughts. She gave him a lighthearted smile trying to focus on what was here and now, "I'll be your co-emperor. Or something like that."
"I mean, you could be my queen." Phoenix offered with a light shrug, feeling a smirk tug up. He kept his eyes trained on the road in attempt not to get in an accident. "But then again, you don't have to be."
“I think I would like being your queen,” Cicada smiled back at him. She was kind of glad he was watching the road, “Since you treat me like one already it should be hard getting used to it.”
"That's because you are a queen. You deserve to be treated that way." Phoenix hummed lightly, pulling on to the highway traffic. "Would you also like me to address you that way, your majesty?"
"Oh hell no," Cicada told him making a face when he said that to her. It sounded far to close to her ex's 'princess' which made her feel all sorts of strange inside. She glanced outside, "The highway huh, we really are going far then."
"Alright- I won't use that nickname then." Phoenix laughed just a bit, picking up her second question. He nodded in response, pursing his lips a bit in thought. "Mhmm. I also thought it was my best shot at trying to keep things secret from you."
"It definitely is," Cicada said glancing out seeing the city leave her sights. She had a slight smile on as she glanced over at him, "Though the scenery looks a little familiar. Then again it does most of the time for me anyway."
"Does it now? Huh, I mean, if you drove into town, it wouldn't be that big of a surprise." Phoenix hummed softly, smiling after a couple of seconds of thought. After a couple of seconds of silence, he glanced over to her. "Did you drive into town?"
"Yes, I drove into town," Cicada laughed as she replied to him. Who would go to college without a driver's license and car? She hummed a little, "My cars back at the dorm, and if I ever got to drive you would know that."
Phoenix laughed weakly, nodding a little. "It just feels weird to take anyone else's car. If you want to drive, you can always offer. I won't tell you that you can't or anything." He hummed softly keeping up an amused smile.
"I know, I just keep forgetting to offer," Cicada told him with another laugh. She smiled softly over at him as she glanced over at him, "So don't feel bad about it."
"Oh trust me, I don't. As long as you keep forgetting, I don't have to let you drive me around." Phoenix chuckled some, using one hand to run a hand through his hair. "But now you're going to remember it every time, aren't you?"
"Oh maybe, but it may be a while. I want a better grio on the town's layout before I insist on driving you around all the time," Cicada smiled over at him. She was teasing him ever so slightly and it showed in her voice.
"Looks like I have time, then. I'll milk it out, while I have the chance." Phoenix hummed a bit, drumming his fingers on the wheel a little. He nodded his head a bit, seemingly to the beat of a song.
"If that's what you want to do, then go right ahead," Cicada responded with a smile seeing him nod to the song. She glanced out the window again before back at him, "Though that just means I'll learn faster."
"Well shoot, now I don't know what to do." Phoenix laughed lightly, pursing his lips a little. "If I don't drive you, you don't learn. But then I'm not getting to drive you. If I do drive, you'll learn the town better. And I won't be allowed to drive anymore. What will I ever do?"
"I don't know," Cicada laughed as she shrugged a little. She leaned on the armrest and looked over at him with a crooked smile, "That sounds like a you problem and not a me problem."
Phoenix pouted a bit, but kept his eyes on the road. "You're mean… you're not even telling me which one you want me to do, to benefit yourself." He mumbled a bit as he reached up and flicked his sunglasses down.
"Yep, you're adorable when in a dilemma," Cicada told him smiling at his little pout. He really was adorable especially now, "Besides it's your decision anyway."
"But I don't know what to dooooo~" Phoenix whined again, still pouting as he glanced over to her. He wasn't really upset, but he was definitely playing the part well. "Can't you just give me a suggestion?"
"Nope!" Cicada laughed as she kept looking at him. She flipped her sunglasses down once more as she smirked over at him, "Either way you to do it I get the benefits, so it really doesn't matter to me."
