"My name isn't that long. Yours is comparatively short, you know. Besides, that's just the Earth translation," she said.

Deleted user

"Like? I don't know exactly what you're implying," Suri crossed her arms. They came to a lift, and Suri stepped in. "C'mon." she said.

Kyle stepped inside with her, "Like, my name, Kyle, is better then like, Steve or Dave or something like that. And long names are stupid because people just shorten them anyway. For example Stephanie is shortened to Steph. Why give someone a long name if you're gonna shorten it anyway?"

Deleted user

"Names have power, I believe the longer a name, the more power it contains. So many meanings in a string of words." Suri pushed a short few buttons, and the lift shot up. "And anyways, who are you to judge?"

Deleted user

"It's fine." Suri stepped out of the lift when it juddered to a halt. "Let's go." she shrugged

"Oh, don't be daft. She's quite fond of you, really, she just doesn't like admitting it. She likes to pretend she doesn't have emotions," Suri said in stage whisper.

Deleted user

"What's an 'emo'? I've never heard the term, but I suppose since you use it so frequently it must mean something." Suri shrugged.

@ElderGod-Carrots

He laughed again, "An emo is someone who is all punk rock and gives off the whole 'I hate everyone and everything' type of vibe. Rodan acts likes that."

"No she doesn't!" Suri protested, lightly whacking Kyle's arm.

Suri opened a door. "No, she doesn't, and I'll thank you to not insult her. This way." she said, entering the white room with hundreds of metal crates and blinking lights lining the walls, a white bed with a glowing IV drip nearby. "Rodan," Suri said calmly. She then rushed up to the woman, wrapping her arms around her. "Oh cosmos, I thought you… you could have died!" she whispered. "Ah, you know me, tough as Maruvin Chromium. Suri, I need to get back to my office, and now." she said.

"Suri, the letters. I need to get-" Rodan stood up, but fell on hands and knees to the floor just as soon as she had gained full height again. "Rodan!" Suri exclaimed. "You need to rest, you were-" "Poisoned, I'm aware. Suri, the letters on my desk, I need to get to them. One of them was poisoned, I need to figure out which, and fast," she said. "So no one else gets hurt?" Suri asked. "No, so whoever did it can't cover their tracks," Rodan looked up. "Oh. Finskad. Did you seriously have to bring the human?" she groaned.

"Suri is a stubborn, incompetent bitch who doesn't understand social cues." Rodan said with a slight nod. "Oi, I could have you executed for that," Suri joked, helping Rodan stand up. Rodan gave a weary chuckle and began to move out of the room, slowly, leaning on whatever was available. "Let's just go, you can discharge me whenever as Imperial." Rodan grunted, looking over her shoulder at Suri.

"My friend is perfectly aware that even doing that won't stop me. I'll be fine." she retorted, exiting the room. Suri gave a don't-argue-with-her glance and followed. She then returned back. "You coming?" she asked.

Rodan lead them out of the clinic with surprisingly little to no objections from the nurse, like they'd encountered Rodan like this before. Suri helped her friend board their shuttle, allowed Kyle to enter, and they sped off towards Rodan's workplace, a tall spire with ships spinning around it, buzzing with activity.

Kyle watched them in awe. They hadn't had anything like this on Earth and he still found it so surreal. He closed his mouth so he didn't look like a gaping fish but his eyes still glistened with curiosity.

"I'll go up alone. If there's any complications, say, someone who wanted to finish the job, there won't be any risk of you getting involved." Rodan said.
