"Terrible. It doesn't matter much. Were you alright here?" Suri asked.
"Terrible. It doesn't matter much. Were you alright here?" Suri asked.
Kyle nodded slowly with a small grimace, "Yeah. I took a nap so I was fine. Maldita sea, ¿Tienes algún analgésico? Mi cabeza me está matando."
"There should be some somewhere. Er, I'll go get it." Damn, it's been like, seven years since I last actually needed to stock up on medical supplies. Where's Rodan's stash? Suri thought to herself, rushing out of the room.
"Gracias…" Kyle muttered, leaning back into the couch.
"Rodan!" Suri hissed when the woman walked in the door. "Suri, what is it?" the other crossed her arms. "Where's your medical kit? Kai needs some painkillers, but I haven't restocked in ages." Suri admitted. Rodan sighed, rubbing her temples with one hand, the other still folded across her chest. "Suri, I already brought some human-compatible meds. Here," she tossed a metal package to Suri, "and you do realize that none of the medications here are anything but compatible with Menti Celesti? I had to put in a special request to get these. Whatever, go to your human. And for the last time, I honestly couldn't care less about his well being!" she snapped at the gleeful look on Suri's face that quickly disappeared per Rodan's orders. Suri returned with the medication, a pushbutton hypodermic. Saying nothing, she stabbed the needle in Kyle's arm, pushed down on the button, and allowed the painkiller to work it's magic, taking out the needle once the container was drained, which had been only a few seconds. "It should work instantly, are you feeling any better? Rodan just got back, by the way." Suri informed.
"Oh great. The emo asshole is back, how thrilling," Kyle sighed, "Thanks for the painkillers, I had a major migraine but it's dulled down a lot."
"She's actually a good person once you get to know her. Loyal, competent, she's the perfect choice for Coordinator of Imperial Security. And she's been my best friend for a while now, saving my life more times than I can count. I'd appreciate if you didn't throw her under the hovercraft, y'know." Suri complained. Rodan sat down in the sitting room on a white plush chair and crossed her legs. "Sorry, did you two want to be alone? Anyways, how was the meeting? Please tell me you didn't offed the entirety of Parliment. Again." Rodan said.
bump
(sorry, fell asleep)
Kyle rolled his eyes, "If you two are just gonna talk about weird alien parliament stuff then do it in another room. I don't think my brain can take it."
(That's fine. Hope you got plenty of rest.)
"Oh, do be quiet. Anyways, my day's been a bore, nothing but letters and documents, I don't know why they kept me so late." Rodan sighed. "Eulidia again? I know there's that thing with the Gathering-" Suri cut herself off. "Listen, why don't we just go and see what she wants? Besides, I'd like to go myself if only for the food. Besides, I think Jadehound has some information they're not telling us, and I'd like to find out as much as I can from them. Oh, sorry Kyle, this is just some political slush, no need to worry about anything." she said in a tone implying that she was trying to hide something for him to worry about.
Kyle narrowed his eyes, "That's the first time you've called me Kyle while I've been here. Now, I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I can tell something is up. Don't tell me not to worry when I know something is bothering you."
"Just a minor distortion in time, a little bump. Nothing that can't be fixed, but it'll be a little hectic around here until we figure it out." Suri lied, and Rodan gave what she assumed was a reassuring nod, but really was a grimace and a lot of head bobbing.
"Fine. Lie to me then," Kyle mumbled, sighing through his nose, "Weren't you gonna go deal with whatever it was? Don't you want to fix it before things get out of hand?"
"We-ell… it's kinda difficult to… listen, we don't have all the facts, I'm hardly sure what's going on right now as it is, but it'll be fine." another lie, Suri thought.
Kyle's eyes narrowed at her, clearly able to tell she was still lying but he didn't mention it this time, "Right, okay. Whatever you say."
Rodan shrugged, feeling an uncomfortable sensation in her throat as a mild nausea took her. She shrugged off the feeling, however, focusing on the situation at hand and letting out a nervous cough. "No, nothing to worry about." she tried to say, but only managed an uncomprehending 'no'. Suri didn't seem to notice this, but she looked tense. More to do with Kyle than anything else, really, however.
Kyle turned his attention to Rodan. Yes, he didn't like the woman but he'd had his fair share of colds and sickness to tell that something was wrong, "Rodan? Are you feeling okay?"
"Fine, just tired. I don't need your sympathy." she said in an annoyed tone. Suri looked over to her. "Rodan, be reasonable. Are you really alright?" she asked. Rodan nodded, but her tongue felt thick and heavy, the unpleasantness in her throat was making it difficult to breathe. She looked down at her hands, which were lightly stained in ink. "The letters," she murmured, then collapsed onto the floor, the last thing she heard was Suri calling for a medic.
Kyle had never stood faster. He quickly picked the black haired woman up bridal style and laid her down on the couch gently as to not hurt her, "The letters? what did she mean by that?"
"No idea. The medics will be on their way any minute, but I think she's been poisoned." Suri ran a hand through her hair.
Kyle nodded, checking for a pulse, "Have you received any letter recently? Or maybe Rodan has and she's asking you to look at them."
"I don't know. Once the medics get here, we can figure this out, but until then I need to keep Rodan stable." Suri said quickly. She ran out of the room and returned with a med-kit. "Okay, so… you use this, put the mask over her mouth to help her breathe…" Suri muttered, taking out a metal breathing mask with an oxygen tank attached and putting it on Rodan's face.
Kyle did as he was told, gently lifting Rodan's head and placing the mask over her mouth, "Not to different form the ones on Earth…" He muttered.
There was a knock on the door. "Oh, thank goodness. That must be the medics." Suri exclaimed. In a few swiftly moving minutes, Rodan had been moved, and Suri and Kyle were being transported to the medical center. Later, in the foyer, a nurse in dusty cinnamon robes walked up to them. "You two may see her now. Coordinator Rodansiatodarianvuhl is resting, but perfectly healthy. If she had gotten here any later, she would have died. And Madame Imperial, may the moons shine upon you." he said, walking off.
"What is it with you people having such long names?" Kyle asked as they walked towards the room, "Like, the longest name I can think of is Leonardo but that's nothing compared to yours and Rodan's."
