"Good man." she grinned, and walked off to her quarters to pack. A half an hour later, or nearly a quarter of a span, however you counted it, Rodan emerged with a new set of white mourning robes and a gun in the weapon's holster. Suri also walked out, then frowned. "Rodan, don't tell me it won't be dangerous and then bring a gun." she glared.
Kyle snorted, but quickly covered up with a cough, "Sorry, sorry, I agree with Suri there."
"Shut it, both of you." Rodan growled.
Kyle raised his hands in defence then crossed them, “Fine fine. You know best… apparently.”
"Nope, we're coming with you, Rodan. And don't argue, you know you couldn't do that with me even when it was technically legal to." Suri raised a defensive hand.
"Do you really think it's a good idea for me to go, Suri?" Kyle asked, raising a brow, "I mean I'm not… I'm human do you think they'll like… know?"
"Well, it may not be a good idea but it may not be a bad idea. Besides, I can't just leave you here, alone." she said. "Sometimes I wonder how you got into politics." Rodan sighed. "Fine, come with, but I warned you."
Kyle was still a little hesitant but followed anyway. He kept his mouth shut this time as he didn't want to anger Rodan.
"Suri, tell your pet to relax, he's always so twitchy around me!" Rodan complained.
"Hey! I am not a pet you stuck up old woman." Kyle snapped.
“Whatever, go chew on a stick.” she said. “Oi, no fighting!” Suri ordered.
"Go run into a wall, emo." He muttered.
"You wish. Anyways, don't say I didn't warn you two." she sighed, and they had soon left the building again and set off for the event.
“I must have been mad,” Rodan groaned thirty spans later when she realized just how difficult this was going to be. Her life all too often resembled a never-ending string of disasters, but this was going to be a special one. "Everything would be much easier for both of us if you just wear these robes for a few hours.” Once again she tried to give Kai the robes she’d brought in back of the flyer. “They’re in every way superior to Earth wear: they’re clean, as good as new, perfect in all weather conditions. I don't see why you'd not want to wear them."
Kai rolled his eyes and pushed them away again, "Not my style, as I've said and I don't know what type of tracker you've put in them or something. I don't want to touch any alien clothes," He sighed, tying to get his point across was harder then he thought. Especially with someone so stubbon.
"I didn't put-you're being impossibly stubborn! Suri, tell him he needs to wear these." Rodan shouted. "Sorry girl, you're on your own. I'm busy reading an enlightening tale of-" "Suri, I know you're just playing a hologame. Really, you're such a child!" Rodan groaned.
Kyle snorted and chuckled, "Gosh you remind me of people I used to know…"
"Do we? Well, good for them, we are quite amazing people." Suri grinned. Rodan rolled her eyes so high you could see nothing but whites for a moment. "We're close, and they won't let us in unless you're wearing formal clothes. Just for a a while, and then you can put back on your… what are those called again?" she asked.
Kyle sighed somewhat loudly, rubbing at his face with both of her hands, "Clothes. Skinny jeans and a an Adidas jumper."
"Yeah yeah. Just put the robes on or I'll make you, okay?" she said darkly, meaning it.
Kyle rolled his eyes and snatched up the robes, "Fine, whatever. How do you put these on?"
"Easy. They just slip on to fit your form. The magnetic clasps do all the work for you, you just have to put your arms and torso in mostly, they'll seal around your legs loosely, about knee height, and you can just pull on the trousers." she explained. "Go change in the secondary compartment, I'm not exactly motivated to check you out."
Kyle rolled his eyes and sent her a wink, "Oh please, we both know you'd love to see my body." He sighed softly before he headed into the second compartment. He quickly changed out of his familiar clothes with a small frown, already missing the comfort before slipping on the robes. After they were on, same with the trousers, he walked back out.
"You don't look horrible. Let's go." said Rodan, dragging him out, then popping back inside to get Suri off her game.
Kyle brushed himself down with a huff, even though there was nothing on his new clothes. He would never get used to this no matter what.
"Okay, are we gonna go or what?" Suri asked.
