Derlik put one arm over his eyes.
"Sun's an asshole," he mumbled.
Derlik put one arm over his eyes.
"Sun's an asshole," he mumbled.
Nik snorted faintly.
"He is," Derlik said. "A self-centered jerk who thinks the whole world revolves around him."
He frowned a little, shrugging.
Derlik chuckled a bit at his own joke. He sat up, hand going to Nik so he wouldn't fall.
"Geez, I even try joking and all you do is frown. You know we're stuck with each other, pretty much for forever, right? At least make an effort to get along?"
"Why should I?" Nik replied, finally speaking for the first time in a while.
"Well, it's not like you have much anyone else to talk to. And, there's the whole point of being stuck together till the end of time itself. Life's a lot easier if you try to get along with the people you can't cut out of your life." Derlik sighed a bit. At least Nik had said something.
"You're the one who chose that, not me."
"And you're the one it affects the most." Derlik let out a soft sigh. Why was it the only times they talked was to argue?
"And?" he raised an eyebrow faintly.
Derlik sighed softly.
"You know what, I don't care. If the only time you're going to talk to me is when we argue, I'd prefer you not talking at all."
"Fine." Nik replied, crossing his arms. "If you wanted something different, you should have thought of that before threatening me and hurting me."
"I didn't figure on actually caring about how you feel," Derlik pointed out.
He snorted faintly. "Of course you didn't."
"Well, I usually don't for anyone." Derlik shrugged a bit.
He shook his head a little, looking away.
"I'm still a big shocked at myself for even caring now, but I do." Derlik shrugged again.
Nik shook his head a little, but didn't speak.
Derlik let out a huff. Honestly, this was just strange to him.
Smoke was quiet, watching them with his head cocked.
Derlik finally just set Nik down entirely, sighing and looking at Smoke.
Nik sat on the boulder, not looking at the two. Smoke blinked up at him.
Derlik reached over, pulling Smoke onto his lap.
"You won't refuse to talk to me, will you kitty?"
Smoke mewed, leaning against him happily.
Derlik smiled softly. He scratched Smoke's head, cooing softly.
