Derlik lightly touched Nix's shoulder.

Nik jumped, turning to look at him.

(There are to many characters with similar names I'm dealing with)

Derlik let out a breath.
"You're not doing good," he said after a moment.

(lmaooo)

He frowned a little. "What do you mean?"

"How you're handling this. You're obviously not doing well." Derlik sighed.

He snorted. "The hell did you expect? You kidnapped me."

"Something neither of us can change now." Derlik shrugged.
"Best to get over it now."

He snorted again, shaking his head. "Fuck off."

"As if." Derlik rolled his eyes.

He shook his head again.

Derlik sighed, scratching Smoke's head.

Smoke purred quietly.

Derlik smiled, leaning his head back.
"You know, you could say the same about pets in general. Kidnapping, I mean."

"I found Smoke on the side of the road after a car had hit his mother. Fuck off." Nik snapped.

Derlik's eyes widened a bit.
"Really..?" He shrugged slightly.

"Yes, really." he replied, mouth pinched in a thin line.

"Alright then." Derlik sighed a bit.

Smoke was quiet, still purring faintly.

Derlik ran his fingers down Smoke's back lightly, kissing the cat's head.

Smoke purred happily.

Derlik smiled, glancing at Nik.

Nik was silent, not looking at them.

Derlik huffed a bit, turning completely away from Nik. He held Smoke close to him, beginning to play with the kitten.

Nik scuffed his foot against the ground absently.

"Careful," Derlik said. "Don't accidently hit the boulder."
