Derlik lightly placed one hand on Nik's shoulder, bending over a bit to look at him in concern.
Derlik lightly placed one hand on Nik's shoulder, bending over a bit to look at him in concern.
Nik looked up at him, stepping back a little.
Derlik retracted his hand.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked again gently.
He nodded a little. "Yeah." He said quietly.
Derlik sighed gently.
"Alright then, I won't push you."
He looked around quietly.
Derik started going around, encouraging children to go and run around, to have fun. He smiled gently.
Nik stayed where he was, quiet.
Derlik came back, still smiling a bit.
"How are you doing?" he asked again
Nik shrugged. "Fine, I suppose."
Derlik sighed gently.
"My work here is done. Shall we move on?" he offered his hand to Nik, hoping Nik would take it himself this time.
Nik shrugged again, cautiously taking Derlik's hand. "Sure."
Derlik nodded. In a moment, they were at their next stop. A school gym.
Nik was quiet, letting go once they had arrived.
Derlik hummed faintly. Not many students were participating, and he sighed.
"Kids these days…"
Nik shrugged faintly, looking around.
Derlik sighed again, starting around the gym.
Nik bit his lip.
Derlik was silent, happiness from before gone. Something had ticked him off.
Nik watched him quietly. Smoke was still in Derlik's pocket.
Derlik frowned a bit, reaching up to scratch Smoke's head.
"I don't like this…"
Smoke looked up at him. "What?"
"These kids weren't even trying to play before I showed up, all of them on their phones…" Derlik shook his head.
(ok boomer)
Smoke frowned slightly. "So?"
"Look, don't get me wrong, I love the advances human's are making, but honestly? Nothing beats old fashioned chaos. Sure, you can do a lot of it online, but what's better than tackling someone to the ground for taking you're perceived spot?" Derlik sighed.
