Derlik sighed gently.
"You're okay," he said softly, pulling his hand away.
Derlik sighed gently.
"You're okay," he said softly, pulling his hand away.
Nik took in a slow breath, rolling to look up at the sky.
The sky was mostly clear, the sun hanging lazily in the sky. It was late in the morning, like Derlik said. Derlik hummed again.
"Hungry?"
Nik shrugged a little. "I guess…"
Derlik nodded, looking up at the sky too.
"Anything in particular you like to eat?"
He shrugged again. "Not really."
"Alright then. Pancakes sound good?" Derlik glanced down at Nik.
He nodded a little. "Yeah, sure."
Derlik hummed.
"I'm thinking about going to a place in town that has good pancakes. Want to come?" It wasn't really an option, but he wanted Nik to feel like he did.
He shrugged his shoulders. "It's not like I have a choice."
Derlik sighed a bit, but didn't argue. He was right, after all.
"Then let's go."
Nik glanced over at Smoke, who was still sleeping. "What about Smoke?"
"Well, people aren't really used to people with cat ears…" Derlik thought a moment. He reached out, gently touching Smoke's cheek and shrinking him like the day before.
"We'll make sure he eats there too." He hummed, offering a hand to Nik.
Nik nodded a little, reaching out to take Derlik's hand cautiously.
Derlik helped Nik up, doing his very best to be nice.
"Ready?"
Nik nodded, pulling his hand back once he was standing.
Derlik put his hands in his pockets, turning to walk away.
Nik followed quietly.
"Did you sleep well?" Derlik asked, glancing back at Nik.
Nik shrugged his shoulders. "I guess so."
Derlik let out a sigh.
"Alright then."
Nik put his hands in his pockets silently.
Derlik led Nik through the woods, humming a bit as they left them into a small town.
Nik followed quietly, a few curls falling into his face as he walked.
Derlik led Nik to a smaller breakfast place, stepping in.
"Hey, doll~!" he called out, grinning at the owner. He took a seat at a booth, motioning for Nik to join him.
