Cameron took bunches of long fur and curled them into a ball, smiling. "Now I can finally make that sweater I need, eh?" He joked to his dog, who just looked at him. He laughed and continued brushing her.
Cameron took bunches of long fur and curled them into a ball, smiling. "Now I can finally make that sweater I need, eh?" He joked to his dog, who just looked at him. He laughed and continued brushing her.
Ava laughs quietly when she hears Cameron's joke. Shedding is almost unbearable with Kreja so she can only imagine how bad it is with Lily. "Come here, handsome," She coos, scooping Kreja up and putting him on her lap.
Cameron smiled as he gently brushed his dog, finally finishing with what looked like half a dog in density.
"There you are, my Lily girl. Feeling better?" She responded by getting to her paws and shaking herself out.
Ava huffs when Kreja just flops down on top of her without warning. "I can't breath, you big ball of fluff!" She groans shoving him lightly until he stops trying to smother her. Gasping for air, she glares at the dog. "You're lucky that you're this cute."
Cameron looked up at the other two with a jump, his eyes widening a little. "Are you alright, there, Ava?" He asked, sitting back. Lily jumped up onto the couch after him and leaned against him with a deep dog sigh.
"I just avoided being crushed to death so I'm doing great," Ava tells him with a weak chuckle before giving him a thumbs up. "Kreja likes to think that he's a lap dog no matter how much I tell him that he's not."
Cameron laughed softly, stroking Lily's head, who leaned over to lean her head on his lap.
"I think that makes two dogs. Imagine getting crushed by this big furry mess!" He gestured gently towards Lily.
Ava looks over to Lily and laughs. "She really is a teddy bear." She smiles over to the dog. "I can only imagine how much it would hurt to have her lay on you, though." It would probably much worse than Kreja.
Cam laughed and nodded, gently stroking behind Lily's floppy ears. "Once you get used to the fact that she's crushing your spine, it's not that bad, really."
"Just accept your fate, right?" Ava grins, absentmindedly petting Kreja's head. It funny how she was more than ready to kill him a few weeks ago and now she's happy being in his company.
Cameron nodded slowly, Lily turning her head to lick at a certain spot at his shirt. He gently shooed her off, leaning back again.
"So… what do you like to do after dinner time? I can grab a movie and we can go down into the basement to watch it." He had a movie theater-like set up in his basement. It was really quite cozy.
"A movie sounds great," Ava agrees, nodding her head enthusiastically. Watching a movie could be a lot of fun. "I haven't seen a movie in months," She comments with a quiet laugh. Trying to find the time to do stuff other than missions and caring for Kreja is really hard to do.
"Sweet. So I get to pick, huh?" He asked with a small chuckle. "No, let's go down now and choose one." He stood up and stretched out with a yawn, picking up his glass of wine.
"Unfortunately we can't let the dogs in, though. Lily peed down there once and I'm afraid she'll do it again. We'll have to leave these two up here."
"As long as you don't pick something stupid," Ava jokes with a laugh. She's willing to watch just about anything. Standing up, she picks up her wine. "Okay. Kreja should behave fine, espically since he has someone to play with," She agrees, though a little reluctant. "Be a good boy, sweetheart," She tells the dog, bending down to give him a light kiss on his head.
Cameron chuckled and lead the way to his basement, holding the door open. "How do you know if it's something stupid? You hardly watch movies." Lily sat near the door like a good girl, then when the pair of humanns disappeared, she trotted upstairs to Cameron's room to lay down.
"If it's something with a title like 'Sharknado' then I'll know that it's stupid," Ava tells him with a grin before thanking him and heading into the basement. Kreja follows after Lily, not sure what else to do. The dog immediately jumps onto the bed and curls up.
Cameron opened another door down the flight of steps leading down, chuckling. "I don't have any movies of the sort. I have movies like "Se7en", "Shawshank Redemption"… hmmm…" He trotted into his movie room and past a legit popcorn maker, which shined once he turned on the lights.
"You have 'Shawshank Redemption?'" Ava asks excitedly as she follows him into the movie room. "I used to watch that all of the time with my brother, it's one of my favorite movies," She comments as she looks around. "Damn, this is really nice."
The room was rather cold but not uncomfortable. There was a plush rug under leather seats and couch, which all surrounded a huge TV and CD player. Cameron flicked on the popcorn maker, letting it heat up slowly.
"Hell yeah I have Shawshank. Wanna watch it?" He asked, slipping out a CD.
"If that's okay with you," Ava says, nodding her head eagerly. It would be great to see the movie again. "Do you spend a lot of time down here?" She asks as she moves around the room and takes everything in. It's a really nice set up. Most people don't care to put time or money into a movie theater room so she can only assume that he loves to watch movies.
"Yep. I make a lot of popcorn, too," He said with a laugh, picking up a couple things and mixing them into the machine. Soon, they started to explode with good, delicious smells that filled the room. "Make yourself at home. Want a beer?" He asked, crossing the room to a small fridge.
Settling down on the end of the couch, she sighs happily. The delicious smell of fresh popcorn fills the air. For a brief second she feels as if she's back at home, getting ready for movie night with her brother. "Yeah, a beer would be great," She says, snapping back to reality.
Cameron got two out of the small fridge, handing down to her before checking on the popcorn, humming.
"You can go ahead and put the disk in if you'd like," He proposed, gesturing towards the disk sitting on the fridge.
Ava thanks him for the beer before opening it and taking a small sip. She hops off of the couch and moves over to the fridge. Taking the disk, she studies the system for a moment before figuring it out. She puts the disk in, breathing a small sigh of relief when it works.
Cameron watched the popcorn fall to the belly of the machine, humming happily and scooping it out into one bowl for her. He trotted over after shutting the small door, handing it down.
"There you are. Let me get mine and we can start."
