Manon nodded. "I will stay. You still have not eaten anything though."
Manon nodded. "I will stay. You still have not eaten anything though."
"I typically don't have lunch, but I did today, so I'll be fine."
She raised an eyebrow, but tugged him down onto the couch as she sat, a bit closer than she had intended. "I would be telling you off if I did not do the same thing myself."
He smiled, maneuvering so that his head was in her lap and his legs hung over the edge of the armrest, closing his eyes
Her cheeks turned a bright red at this, but she leaned back against the couch, humming softly.
"I'm surprised how good they acted. They typically go crazy whenever company is over."
"Maybe they were just tired?"
"Maybe. Lia loves to play with them." He frowned, thinking of the look she had given Manon.
She had already guessed as to why Lia didn't like her. "Well, that would likely be it then. She tired them out for you."
((Manon was just saying that Lia played with them enough to make them tired
((oh, imao
"Well, I'm grateful for it." He chewed on the inside of his lip, trying to decide if he wanted to ask her what the look she gave Manon was.
"I take it you two are at least somewhat close, as the girls were comfortable around her."
"Yeah. She likes to come over and hang out."
Manon nodded. "I hope to get to know her. She seems sweet." She was definitely not jealous, because she trusted Eli.
He settled onto her legs, setting out a sigh though his nose.
She found herself gently running her fingers through his hair, a soft smile on her face as she looked down at him.
After only 3 or 4 minutes he was asleep, snoring softly.
She chuckled, leaning back and continuing to run her fingers through his hair.
There were three sharp raps on the door, magnified by the quiet of the entire house. Eli didn't stur, but mumbled something in his sleep and stopped storing.
Manon looked up at the door, and very carefully stood, lifting Eli's head and setting it gently on the couch. She made her way to the door and opened it.
Lia stood there, her arms crossed over her chest. She made an audible scoff, then leaned her head into the open door and said, "Eli?" completely ignoring Manon.
Manon rolled her eyes, and stepped aside. "He is asleep, and so are the girls, but feel free to come in."
She walked in, not even bothering to take her shoes up before walking over to the couch and rudely pushing Eli's shoulder. He groaned, rubbing his eyes and propping himself up on his elbow. "I need to talk to you," Lia said, grabbing his hand and pulling him up.
"Whuh…?" he rubbed his eyes again, yawning. "Can't this wait 'til tomorrow?"
Manon stayed quiet, watching with an eyebrow raised. She knew this wasn't her place to but in.
