Cal wasn't really sure how to respond to Cameron. The silence was awkward surprisingly, but it was impossibly hard to hold a conversation. He really didn't have great social skills and had no idea what to do in this type of situation. Earlier, he had wanted to argue, but really wasn't sure he could. Cameron was honest in his statement. He hadn't been harmed around him or even spoken to harshly. Not at all.
Cal didn't really want to have to ask for anything, but he really did miss being clean. "Would… am I allowed to get up and wash up?" he asked, attempting to joke as the other was insistent he stay on the couch over moving anywhere yet.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron blinked at him. "Only if you're careful not to tear your stitches. I'd rather not have to stitch you up again." he replied, standing and stretching. "So. Please be very careful, and shout if you need anything."

@Painted-Iris group

Cal let out a sigh of relief. He was happy Cameron didn't insist on helping him with getting himself clean. That would be more than awkward. He also didn't like the thought of his chest ripping open again either. "I will be. Thank you," he hummed, slowly shifting so he could get himself in standing position again.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron nodded a little. "You're welcome. Will you need help, do you think?" he questioned, reaching out a hand to try and steady Cal without really thinking about it. He just wanted to steady Cal and keep him from falling.

@Painted-Iris group

He hesitated a moment before deciding to to take the offered hand. It would be a lot easier if he had help anyways. Cal eventually got to standing without aggravating his stitching much. "I'm not really sure. I've not done this collar free thing with an injury this bad," he replied honestly. Hopefully, all help implied was helping to reach things on a shelf rather than… a different type of assist.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Right. Well, I'll get the bathwater ready, and I can just wait outside the door so you can call?" He asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit at Calixto. "Unless you want me in there with you?" He hoped Cal didn't need that, but if he did, Cameron would help.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal felt his cheeks warm at the third offer. "Ah… I'll pass on the company," he said, suddenly sounding timid. Which was heavily out of character for him as far as the new day had gone. It did make sense with what Cameron already knew, but seeing Calixto act embarrassed again was probably a bit of a surprise.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron blinked, but smiled a little. "Yeah, alright. I'll wait outside, then. Just call if you need me, I suppose." He replied, heading over to the bathroom and starting up the water.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal seemed appreciative at how Cameron let the subject drop. Not that he was known to push, but it was still nice. As for himself, Cal worked on keeping himself steady while standing again. He really didn't get a lot of time to try as his host forced him to lay down again. Eventually, the Mirro got it, just choosing to keep his pace slow. He stood by the bathroom door, feeling a bit out of place. He wasn't used to being idle this long.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron came back out of the bathroom. "I assume you can figure out how to adjust the water temperature?" He asked, holding the door open for Calixto. "I can show you if you want me to, though."

@Painted-Iris group

"I do, yes," Cal replied simply. He kept any possible snide comment to himself. Cameron was just trying to help. There was also the fact that he usually didn't recognise a lot of things previously, including the candy from moments ago. That's what Cameron reminded him of. Something sweet and pleasant, but a bit much if you weren't used to it.

@Painted-Iris group

Calixto gave a small nod, trying to be polite. "Thank you," he said after a moment. He took a few steps into the other room before giving a final glance to Cameron. The Mirro looked away again before gently closing the door. Seconds later, he took off his pants so he could step into the warm looking water. A mirror was just above the sink, and the man stared at himself a moment. The wound still looked quite irritated looking, but due to being clear of any infection, it seemed less red. Cal let out a sigh before moving to step into the bath. He found he could sit there without the water lapping at his injury. Well, that was a nice touch.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron leaned against the wall outside, waiting just in case Calixto needed his help. He had work tonight, and would have to leave the Mirro alone, unless Calixto wanted to come? But Cameron would have to carry him there, and he wasn't sure Calixto would be comfortable with that.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal wouldn't have really wanted to go back there just to sit and watch Cameron flirt around with customers, much less be around said customers. He was still quite adverse to most social interaction. The man took his time getting himself washed up. He cupped a handful of water, letting it wash over his wound. He hissed a bit, but it was necessary to keep it clean.
After a few minutes, Calixto had himself cleaned and feeling better. His hair looked a bit longer now that it was wet. Getting out of the tub, he moved to grab a towel, drying himself off. Cal didn't feel comfortable just walking out with a towel around his waist, so he'd be putting his clothes back on.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron was still leaning against the wall, tapping lightly with his hands and humming to himself. He'd talk to Calixto about work once the other man was done bathing, as he didn't want to try to carry on a conversation through the door.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal paused a moment, hearing the light tune. It sounded quite nice. It was something he'd never really stopped to listen to before. Shaking his head, he moved to continue dressing himself. Well, his lower half anyways. Cameron still had his shirt sitting by the couch or something so the fabric wouldn't rub at the stitches. Which was a fairly good idea. Taking the towel again, he rubbed at his hair to dry it. It stuck up in places when he was done, and the man ran his fingers through it to finish. Another sigh escaped his lips before he turned towards the door. Cal folded the towel and set it over the now drained tub's edge.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(hnng so my main idea is that someone discovers Cam is a Berserker, and then he and Cal end up on the run?? Bc Cal is like "I'm not letting your dumbass go on your own, you'll be dead in days from being too fucking trusting" or something lmao)

Cameron kept humming and tapping as he waited, closing his eyes with a soft sigh. When Calixto came out of the bathroom, he opened his eyes. "Everything go alright?" He asked. "You didn't pop your stitches or anything, right?" His eyes flicked over Cal as if to double-check, before returning to his face again.

@Painted-Iris group

aaaaa I feel like Cal would be like: that sounds like a you problem before considering the fact he really doesn't want Cam to die??? XD I feel like he goes because he never really planned on staying anywhere anyways too, and Cameron's like: oh cool we can go together!

Cal slid his hands into the pockets of his pants, somehow not surprised to see Cameron quite literally standing outside the door. "Yeah. Stitches are fine," he replied. He noted how Cameron's eyes took a quick glance over his chest, and felt a bit embarrassed again. He knew it was because of his injury, but it was still a bit odd to have someone look at him like that.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah that makes more sense lmao. I just. Bonding while on the run sound fun lmao)

"Good. Uhm, I've got to go to work tonight, by the way, so unless you want to come along, I'll have to leave you alone." Cameron said. "So. I don't know what you'd prefer, but either one is fine with me." He ran a hand through his hair.

@Painted-Iris group

it doesssss

"I'll be fine here," Cal replied. It seemed like he didn't have to put much thought into his answer. And he didn't. He wasn't really interested in being around all of those people. If he had to be around someone, he'd rather it stay Cameron alone or necessary interaction.

Cameron nodded a little. "Alright. Do you need anything before I start getting ready to go?" he asked, stepping towards the living room so that Cal would come with him and back to the couch, where there was less danger of him somehow hurting himself.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal followed, not really seeing the point in just standing in the doorway of the bathroom. He felt a bit odd walking around someone's home without any shoes, but it was kind of a nice experience. The floor was cool, but not cold like concrete was. He let a faint smile cross his features before he heard Cameron's question. "I think I'll be okay. You should worry about getting yourself ready," he replied, a small hum escaping his lips. Cal hadn't sat down yet despite the fact he stood in front of the couch. He wouldn't mind just sitting, but last time he was told to lay all the way down when he did. He wasn't really in the mood to do so just yet. Perhaps if Cameron insisted, he would until he left.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron nodded a little. "Alright. I'm going to do the dye, then." He said, heading into the bathroom and getting ready to go, dying his skin and hair until it was the more brown shade than it was, disguising him so that no one could see who he was.

@Painted-Iris group

(crappp this didn't stay on unread idk why it did that)

Cal gave a small nod, standing idly. He fiddled with his hands, not really sure what else to do with himself. When Cameron came back out, he recognised the persona he was forced to put on. Despite the fact he wasn't going to voice it, the other looked better when he looked as he was naturally in his opinion.
