Cal only responded by covering his head with the blanket he was given. He felt a bit better now that he was hidden from view. He begged for sleep to take him again so he might have something he understood again. Silence.

@Painted-Iris group

(Lmao I just imagine a small handful of my characters to live in this one city and Cal and Zedd happen to be two of them tbh)
(The rest kinda go wherever sounds best)

Cal felt the boredom press in as he listened to the sound of running water in the distance. Cameron mentioned himself needing to wash, but as for himself? That didn't sound like a bad idea. But of course he probably wouldn't be allowed to with how Cameron acted so much like a doting parent. At least what he thought a doting parent would be like. He didn't even know if his mother was alive.

@Painted-Iris group

(Cameron: babe let's get married)
(Cal: sure, i think i know what that is.)
(Cameron: so who's gonna walk you down the isle?)
(Cal: i have no idea where my parents are much less if they're alive)
(Cameron: excuse me what the hell-)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(djhfbskj a crossover might be fun)
(lmao)
(fgjhsbkdjfhb Cameron knows his own parents are dead tho, so like. neither one of them has parents lmao)

Cameron came back after about ten minutes, looking over at Cal. "Is there anything you need? Anything I can do for you?" he asked,bouncing one leg a little bit.

@Painted-Iris group

(tbh I would really like Zedd and Cam to talk because Zedd typically doesn't like people when he has to talk to them for longer than 5 minutes.)
(nfwjnef aaaa that's funny from an author perspective, i'm sorry, I laughedddd)

Cal ignored Cameron, pretending to be asleep. He technically did want something, but didn't really have interest in having someone help him bathe.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(bagsgsg we could talk to Fraust and figure it out maybe?)
(Shdgdggs same tho)

Cameron waited for a moment, then shrugged, grabbing a book and sitting down to read, staying close so that if Cal awoke and needed something, he could help.

@Painted-Iris group

(eee maybe)

Cal listened to the sound of Cameron's footsteps, only to internally groan at the fact that Cameron had taken a seat nearby. He pursed his lips before actually closing his eyes. At least this version of suffocating wasn't as bad as what he was used to.

(ahaha i'm just imagining them sharing a bed again after they start dating and Cal's just unmoving in his sleep and Cam's the one who rolls around/moves in his sleep from time to time lmao)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron kept reading quietly, not really paying too much attention to Calixto. He didn't mean to be suffocating, he was just trying to take care of him.

(Ajdbdgs yesss)

@Painted-Iris group

At that point, Cal had actually fallen asleep. It was back to how it usually was. Dark and without dreams. He was honestly surprised that Cameron hadn't mentioned the fact that he hadn't eaten since he had been gone.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal at least felt better with a blanket to cover himself. It made staying asleep easier. If there weren’t the rise and fall of his breathing, Cameron might assume he were dead. He was never much of a mover in his sleep.

@Painted-Iris group

About only twenty minutes had passed before he woke up again. Cal sighed, deciding to push the blanket away from his face as he was quite warm now. He blinked a few times, getting used to the light, before noticing Cameron still there. And… he looked like himself. No dye.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron was still reading, cross-legged on the chair and humming faintly to himself, not noticing that Calixto was awake yet. The dye was indeed washed out, leaving him pale and blond instead of darker and brunet.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal found himself staring at Cameron longer than he might have anyone else. He had a slight idea at what the other would have looked like without the false coloring, but seeing it now…
He really didn't know what it was. It just… looked right. They looked less alike now.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron didn't seem to notice that he was being watched, still quietly reading his book. The spear tattoo seemed even darker with his skin pale, sharp against the pale skin of his jawline and cheek. He smiled just a little bit as he read, letting out a quiet sigh for a moment.

@Painted-Iris group

(wait i just realized Cal wouldn't know how to read something more complex like a higher level book oh no)
Cal stared at the novel, curious as to what the title said. He hoped it was in Kevran so he wouldn't have to make excuses as to why he didn't know what it said. He wondered if that was why Cameron was smiling at the words written there. Perhaps the book was about where he came from.

@ElderGod-Icefire

(aksbsbhdv oh no–)

Cameron kept reading his book, humming very very faintly for a moment, then going quiet again as he read, turning the pages. The book was not in Kevran, no, it was in the common language.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal pretended that the book was about what he assumed, and wondered what that part of the world was even like. How did other people look if Cameron appeared different than the rest? What did the land look like? Was it warm? Was it cold?
Eventually, Cal looked back at the ceiling. That's what he wanted to do one day. Travel the world until he found somewhere that felt like home. Well, as close to home as possible. He felt saddened again, unsure of everything.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron looked like most Kevrans, except for the spear tattoo. Kevra, in the north, had mostly paler people, and here in the more southern regions, most people were darker skinned than Cameron was.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal eventually lost himself in a daze, just staring at the ceiling. He didn't have a clue as to what his home looked like nor how far it was from Earth. He didn't even know where to look for others of his kind. He felt alone no matter how he looked at it.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal sat there, seeming to be lost in his thoughts. He was almost tempted to get up and find whatever alcohol it was that Cameron gave him so his thoughts would blur and go away. Wait… was that why a lot of humans drank? Because they were sad enough to want their heads to become numb? Cal nearly huffed in annoyance. That wasn't an excuse for what some of humankind had done to him while drunk.
