(oof)

Cameron flicked a faint smile at him, slipping his shoes on. "I guess I'll see you later, then? Anything you need before I head out?" He asked, grabbing his jacket and putting it on. "I uh, might not be back until late. Depends on what I end up doing tonight." If he went to bed with anyone tonight.

"Yeah," he responded quietly. He was still getting used to living with another person for the time being. It did feel nice seeing Cameron feel comfortable enough to go to work rather than worrying over him. "I'm fine, just go," he assured the other man, making a small motion with his hand. Part of him reprimanded him for making the order, but he ignored it. No more collar. He didn't have to listen to anyone. Well, Cameron trying to keep the stitches closed didn't count as he didn't want that either.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Alright, alright. Uh, the lady next door can probably help, if you need anything? But she doesn't know what I really am, so." He shrugged vaguely. "Her name's Laurel, she's really nice, if you need anything." He waved. "See you later." He headed out the door, closing it behind him and then heading off towards work.

Cal blinked at the closed door as Cameron left. He didn't like the idea of going to another person for help. No matter how nice this person was, his trust issues always resurfaced when thinking about new people. Hell, he had even heard of kinder humans, but they had still owned some of his kind like property. Sighing, Cal finally took a seat on the couch again. After a moment of silence, he felt a strange urge to try another one of the brightly colored candies. Just to confirm that they weren't that great. That it wasn't just a certain color. Popping one in his mouth, he was surprised to find it tasted a bit on the tart size. Darn. He supposed he didn't mind this one.

Cameron eventually arrived at work, slipping inside and putting on one of the halfaprons, then getting to work bussing tables and flirting with customers, smiling and chatting.

Cal eventually found out he was fond of citrus flavored things, as long as they weren't overly sweet. It frustrated him how idle he felt at the moment. Usually, if he let himself sit long enough, the time went by incredibly fast. The man huffed before staring back at the ceiling. Maybe if he tried thinking about the time Cameron would be coming back, it would sneak up on him. Why did he feel so bored these past few days…?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron pushed away thoughts of Calixto, left alone at his home, and kept doing his job, mouth twitching into a smile and eyes flashing as he flirted with just about everyone.

Calixto eventually let his mind wander again, looking down at his chest. He frowned at the wound, unappreciative of the pain that still ebbed in and out. Despite this, he moved to find the light bag of his things. He couldn't put the one he had on previously for… obvious reasons. It had a gigantic tear in it and was soaked in blood. Being careful about leaning over, he managed to pull out a clean shirt. It was still of the monochrome color scheme, but it was one of the larger ones. It hopefully wouldn't rub at his skin and irritate the wound. Especially when he planned on just lying down again.

Cameron grinned at one of the patrons, white teeth flashing as he continued serving tables, whirling around the smoky rooms with his apron whirling around his waist like a skirt, his dyed skin and hair blending in pretty well with the shadows cast by the flickering light.

Now lying back down on the couch, he felt almost lazy. His hands at least felt they needed something to do from habit. He covered himself with the blanket, and continually bunched and released the rim of it. Eventually, his mind grew still. Before passing out, he wondered if this was helping him ditch a bit of his insomnia, or just making it worse with all the naps.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Eventually, Cameron stopped bussing the tables, and sat down near the fire to sing, closing his eyes and letting himself get lost in the music, song pouring from his lips.

Somehow, Cal seemed to be able to sleep for longer. There wasn't anything loud to wake him, and his mind had been relatively calm beforehand. No strange dreams about someone he barely knew. Right…

@ElderGod-Icefire

(yeah, this is an OxO, which means it's closed)
(Alright, I'll do it!)

Cameron got home rather late, around midnight, and was quiet as he opened the door and slipped inside. He didn't know whether or not Calixto was asleep, and didn't want to risk waking him. So he kept his footsteps soft and quiet as best as he could, meaning to go to his room and go to bed.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal had in fact, still been asleep somehow, but woke up due to the opening and shutting of the door. His bleary eyes adjusted to the dim lighting, seeing someone slowly stepping inside. He wanted to stay relaxed and say it was Cameron, but his trust wasn't very good. Seeing how the darkened form was quite tall, he forced himself to toss away the idea that the person was an intruder. Cal shifted around, an arm coming out from under the cover to rub at his eyes. It felt weird to get to feel to groggy. Usually his sleep was quick and sporadic, waking up from fear, or the occasional good night to where he woke up on his own. That… or he didn't sleep. So this was another new experience.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron stayed as quiet as he could as he shuffled around, quietly making his way towards the hallway. He cast a glance over at Calixto, but didn't say anything, wanting to let him sleep. As a Berserker, he had good eyesight in the dark, but he couldn't tell whether or not Cal was awake, and didn't want to wake him if he was. So Cameron headed towards his own room, footsteps light and careful.

@Painted-Iris group

After a few moments, Cal could safely assume it was Cameron. Who else would have looked over to worry about him? Right? Surely someone wouldn't be stupid enough to ransack a house without making sure anyone inside was restrained. He shifted to sit up some, but Cameron had already gone into the other room. The man sighed. He hoped to himself that he would be able to get himself to fall asleep again.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron changed into his pajamas, getting into bed and lying down, staring quietly at his ceiling as he waited for sleep to come and claim him. Tonight had been a pretty regular night, though he had had one close call when the patch over his tattoo nearly pealed off, nearly exposing him and what he was to the entire bar. He had patched it up fast enough that no one had noticed, thankfully.

@Painted-Iris group

Seeing that the person who had come in the house hadn't come back out. He knew for sure now it had been Cameron. He couldn't say for sure if the other would still be awake for some time, or if he would feel tired after a long night. Either way, Cal seemed to be replicating the same thing the other was as he watched the ceiling. Being awake, he heard his stomach give a soft complaint at having not eaten much all day. He frowned at his chest before hesitantly pulling back his blanket. The air was cool, and he immediately wanted to go back to sleep. Sadly, hunger was a hard force to ignore. Eventually, he got to standing, and carefully making his way to the kitchen. Luckily, his eyes were fairly adjusted to the dark now.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Cameron rolled over onto his back, eyes flickering shut in the darkness of the room. He hoped at least that no one had caught the moments his patch was off. That would…not be good.

@Painted-Iris group

Eventually, he found the fridge, looking inside. There wasn't much pre-made, and he really didn't know what did and didn't taste good. He took a slice of cheese out of the plastic package, nibbling on it. It tasted sharp, but nice. It was a strange thing to describe. He didn't want to take too much, so he set the package back again. He sifted though the cabinets until he saw food rather than glasses and plates. He settled on a simple box of crackers, pulling out a sleeve of them. He took a few in his mouth, regretting it as his mouth felt dry afterwards. At least he still had the water from earlier sitting on the small coffee table. After finishing the small portion, he headed back towards the couch again.

@Painted-Iris group

Cal took a sip of water like he wanted before sitting down. Unfortunately, it was another night where he couldn't sleep much. It was still a bit different though. His mind was calm. It was just… awake. He had slept so much during the day. And that was saying something. So… Cal attempted to recall what Cameron told him about the stars. The patterns and shapes they apparently had. He still didn't see it, but it made the silence more comfortable.
