Cat sighed lightly and shifted on the bench. She faced Aurelie. ”I'll meet you here tomorrow morning. I have the day off too, ” she said kissing Aurelie on the cheek.
Cat sighed lightly and shifted on the bench. She faced Aurelie. ”I'll meet you here tomorrow morning. I have the day off too, ” she said kissing Aurelie on the cheek.
Aurelie smiled softly. “Sounds good,” she replied. “I’ll be ready.”
”Can’t wait, ” she said before standing up. She pecked her on the lips one more time before leaving.
(time skip?)
(Yeah)
Aurelie woke up the next morning excited to go hang out with Cat. She brushed her hair and washed her face with extra care, putting ribbons in her hair instead of wearing a tiara or circlet. She found a plain, cream dress and put it on with some short brown boots, hurrying to the meeting spot.
Cat waited beside the bench. Flattening her dress. It was blue and reached her knees. It was faded and had a hole or two near the seam but it was the nicest dress she owned. There where hidden pockets for things she snatched and her own money. Her hair was tied back in a neat bun. She smiled when she saw Aurelie.
Aurelie beamed, making eye contact with Cat as she closed the gap between them, standing next to Cat. “So, are we going to head off now?” she asked, eyes shining with excitement.
“Yep,” She said before softly kissing Aurelie. Her hand connected with the princess’s. She pulled away. “You ready amore?”
"I'm ready," she repeated, lacing their fingers together contentedly. Along with the dress and boots, she wore a deep maroon hooded cloak (though the hood was currently down) so that she wouldn't be as easily spotted and recognized.
“So I’m guessing you can’t just walk out the front door,” She said starting to walk.
Aurelie laughed. "I don't think I can," she agreed. "I brought this cloak along for, hopefully, some anonymity. My father would not be thrilled to hear I've been wandering around the village without a guard or something to escort me."
“He shouldn’t worry I’m here to protect you,” she said laughing lightly. “How do you usually get out?”
"I sneak out, and typically wear some sort of cloak to hide my appearance, though I haven't done it much lately after he caught me the last time," Aurelie explained. "I'm so glad I have a couple of guard friends who were able to mostly fix things."
“Why don’t you lead the way and I’ll pray that we don’t get caught?” She asked tightening her grip on Aurelie’s hand. If she got caught it really could ruin everything but it was worth it to her.
“If you want, I could ask Eli to help us with a cover and everything,” Aurelie suggested. “He’s my friend I was telling you about. He’s one of the best guards our age.” She smiled at thought of her friend.
Cat bit her lip but nodded. “Whatever you thinks best amore,” She said smiling. She may hate guards but it would probably be a good idea to befriend one.
Aurelie grinned at her. “It’s only a slight detour to where he’s usually stationed,” she explained happily, leading Cat through several empty courtyards and arches until they could see a guard, who looked a few inches taller than Aurelie.
Cat walked with Aurelie keeping a small smile on. She saw the guard. “Is that him?” She whispered. Her grip on the princess’s hand tightened slightly.
The boy turned his head and instantly grinned, his green eyes lighting up. “Yes,” Aurelie confirmed, donning a matching expression and walking over to the boy. His black hair was a mess, but his smile was genuine.
“Lee-lee!” he exclaimed. “What’s up? Who’s this girl you brought with you?”
Cat extended her arm for Eli to shake. “I’m Grace,” she answered still smiling. “You must be Eli!”
“Yep, that’s me!” he replied, still beaming. “Wait a minute, are you two like, girlfriends?” He lowered his voice on the last word and Aurelie blushed.
Cat blushed slightly but chuckled. Turning to Aurelie. “I don’t know are we Lee-Lee?” She asked a teasing smirk on her face. A selfish side of her wanted the princess to say yes but she knew that wouldn’t end well.
Aurelie giggled, blushing a bit more. “Do you want to be? Because we can be, if you want.” Her eyes were clearly saying please say yes.
“Well I don’t usually kiss people who I don’t want to date so…” She said smiling. It was a lie. She never really dated anyone or wanted to but she’s kissed plenty of people. That streak of course was ended with Aurelie.
