“Oh, look, we’re almost at the library,” Lucas said instead. “C’mon, you have work to do!”

“Oh, look, we’re almost at the library,” Lucas said instead. “C’mon, you have work to do!”
(Lol. I bought about it but decided against it. ;D)
Ashley rolled her eyes and led him into the library. She found an empty table and helped Lucas into a seat before sitting down beside him and pulling out her books.
"So, when is your next class?" she wondered as she scooted her chair closer to his so she could lean on him.
Lucas rested his cheek against his palm as he stared at his girlfriend.
“In about twenty minutes,” he answered. “Unfortunately.”
It had been about three weeks since the misunderstanding between Lucas and Ashley. The latter of which was currently pacing around the house while she waited for Lucas to get home. She was trying to figure out when she was supposed to have her period because she had thought it was supposed to be about a week ago…
Her eyes widened with a thought, and she suddenly remembered that, in their haste, they had forgotten to use protection the time after she had gotten jealous of Vanessa.
Oh, no… I can’t be… Maybe I’d better go to the pharmacy to get some tests.
Which is exactly what she did. Lucas wasn’t due home for about a half an hour, so she could leave and be back before he got there. When she got home with the box of tests, she immediately disappeared into the bathroom.
Lucas sighed, hating the fact that he had to stay over for another hour at school. No, he wasn’t at detention. The teacher just assigned extra work time to him and a few others.
He couldn’t wait to get back home to Ashley. He hoped she was doing fine without him to accompany her.
(Ashley: I don’t require you to do things, Lucas… I just prefer it. 😁)
“Positive… Positive. It’s positive…” Ashley murmured to herself as she stared down at it. “Okay. That’s… wow…”
She set it down on the counter and looked up at herself in the mirror. What was she going to do? What was she going to tell Lucas?
(Oh my god)
When Lucas came home, he was rather tired. He took off his shoes and socks and set them aside neatly before hanging his keys.
“Ash? I’m home!” He called but was met with silence. He frowned. Where was this girlfriend?
Oh no… He was home. What was she going to tell him?
She took a deep breath before stepping out of the bathroom. “Lucas. You’re home. How was class?”
Lucas moved to wrap her in his arms, placing a small kiss on her cheek.
“Tiring and boring~” he sighed. “But I’m home now, and I’m all yours!”
Ashley sighed and leaned into him. “Great… I’m glad you’re home.”
Lucas frowned.
“Are you okay?” He questioned, running his fingers through her hair. “Tired?”
“Mmhm. Yeah… Um… Yeah,” Ashley said quietly, kissing his cheek.
“You wanna go out and eat?” He questioned, caressing her cheek softly. “We can have Chinese, or whatever you want to eat. How about that?”
“Hm… Sure. Chinese sounds good,” Ashley agreed, giving him a small smile.
“Or we can just order in,” Lucas added. “If you’re too tired to go out. You’re not sick, are you?”
Not exactly…
“No, no… I might have eaten something bad for lunch, though. My stomach is a little upset,” Ashley admitted with a shrug. It was true, her stomach was upset, but it wasn’t because she ate something bad. It was because she had no idea what to say to Lucas…
“Oh, then we should probably take it easy on your stomach,” he said, poking it teasingly. “I don’t want you eating something and then feeling worse afterwards. I’m going to call mom and ask her what you should be eating…”
Ashley blinked before shaking her head and grabbing his hands in hers. “It’s fine, babe. Really. I think I’ll be good with Chinese.”
Please stop asking questions… I don’t know how to tell you…
Lucas didn’t know why his girlfriend’s spirits were down. Did she, perhaps, receive bad news? Lucas hoped whatever it was, it wouldn’t last long. Seeing Ashley upset like this didn’t feel great.
“All right, what do you want to eat? I’ll order in,”
“Some orange chicken and rice? That’s always my favorite,” Ashley declared, smiling up at him.
Lucas grinned.
“Gotcha,” he fished out his phone and dialed a number, pressing it to his ear and ordering their food. When he was done, he looked at Ashley. “Good will be here in thirty minutes.”
“Sounds good, babe. Maybe we could… watch something while we wait?” Ashley suggested softly.
Lucas grinned.
“Right, but nothing scary!” He added. They were just about to move towards the living room when Lucas’s phone rang. He furrowed his eyebrows and attented the call.
When he hung up, he sighed and looked at Ashley apologetically.
“Sorry, Ash… Kris just called. Said he needed to speak about something urgent,” he said to her. “I’ll be back in a while, all right? You can eat without me.”
Ashley opened her mouth to protest before sighing and shaking her head. "All right, babe. Go have fun," she said, giving him a small smile.
