“You didn’t do anything wrong, Luca… I should have trusted you more,” Ashley murmured, tracing small circles on his shoulder.
“You didn’t do anything wrong, Luca… I should have trusted you more,” Ashley murmured, tracing small circles on his shoulder.
“If I had assured you a bit better, you wouldn’t have thought like that,” Lucas argued. “Anyway, it’s all right. So, tell me, where do you want to go on our date?”
(Skip to the thing we planned?)
(Which one? Remind me in the PM?)
(All right.)

Ashley woke up around five the next morning and needed to go to the bathroom badly… She got out of bed, carefully untangling herself from Lucas, and tried not to wake him as she made her way to the bathroom. As she walked, she stretched her sore legs, sighing as she remembered how silly she had been the day before.
Lucas stirred in his sleep, reaching out for Ashley but meeting an empty space. He cracked an eye open to find Ashley’s side of the bed empty. He was about to go look for her when he saw the bathroom lights on.
He made himself comfortable again and waited for his girlfriend to come back to bed.
Ashley returned to bed a few minutes later, laying down beside Lucas with a yawn. She hoped she could just go back to sleep; it was much too early to be awake on a Saturday…
Lucas woke up the next morning, tired and exhausted. Maybe it hadn’t been a very good idea in doing what he did, but he didn’t regret it.
He didn’t want to wake up early, so he continued to hold his girlfriend tightly.
Ashley has fallen asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow when she got back in bed. She didn’t wake up again until around ten o’clock later that morning, and she found herself tangled up with Lucas once more. Without opening her eyes, her lips formed a small smile as she snuggled up closer to him.
The sound of his phone ringing woke Lucas up. Groaning, he searched blindly for his phone, finally locating it and answering It without checking the caller ID.
“Hello?” He greeted in a low, sleepy voice. When the caller replied, he immediately sat up. “Dad? Er, no, we were asleep… no dad, Ashley’s fine. Yes, I’m keeping her happy. She’s doing well, dad, but you just woke us up. You called me just to ask about Ashley? What about me? You’re such a jerk, dad. I’m going back to sleep. Goodnight.”
Lucas shook his head and put away his phone, going back to the original position, pulling Ashley close. Sometimes his dad was annoying. He didn’t know how his mother could control him, but he was proud of her.
Ashley chuckled softly at the conversation and nuzzled into his neck. “Your dad is funny…” she murmured sleepily.
Lucas snorted.
“He’s annoying, that’s what he is,” he muttered. “Do you know when I was nine and we were walking someplace far on foot and I cried about being tired, he looked at me dead in the eyes and said, “when I was your age, I could walk three miles in harsh weathers over mountains without complaining even once!” Jerk.”
Ashley snickered softly and kissed his cheek. “Well, did it get you to stop crying? Because I think he accomplished his task of it did.”
Lucas rolled his eyes.
"It made me cry harder," I said under my breath. "So he ended up getting scolded by mom. But do not look at me like that! I was a crybaby when I was younger."
“Well, I you can be sensitive sometimes, but I love because of that. I think you’re able to distinguish other people’s feelings better,” Ashley mused softly, yawning.
Lucas pulled her tighter and rested his face in the crook of her neck, smiling.
"Well, I'm glad you love my sensitive little self," he joked. "What about Uncle Leo? Did he give you a hard time?"
Ashly clicked her tongue and chuckled. “Daddy? No. No, he and Mama were the best. I think it was because I’m an only child…”
Lucas sighed loudly.
"You're lucky…" he muttered. "My dad gave both Eden and I a hard time. He says it's payback for all the heart attacks we've given him."
"Well, hey, at least you know he loves you," Ashley reminded him with a shrug. "And at least he doesn't make fun of you for dating his best friend's child…"
Lucas laughed.
“No, but he’ll gut me for sure for breaking his niece’s/goddaughter’s heart,” he responded with a chuckle. “I miss our family get-togethers.”
Ashley hummed softly, nodding her agreement. "Me, too… I can't wait till the holidays so we can go back home and see everyone… That'll be great."
Lucas nodded.
“I agree… I miss Aunt Willow and Uncle Leo. Honestly, I’m glad our parents didn’t lose contact after their marriage,” he said to her, playing with her hair. “God knows how long it would have taken me to find you if that had happened.”
Ashley let her eyes fall shut again as Lucas played with her hair. "I know… I'm so glad they stayed friends. I'm glad we've all stayed friends… I love all of you. But you the most, obviously," she added with a chuckle.
Lucas nodded before letting his head drop, pulling her on top of him.
“Now I need some more sleep,” he grumbled. “So goodnight, girlfriend. Wake me up on Monday.”
