He shrugged. "I'm offended at the lack of faith you have in me." He opened the drivers door and climbed in. He googled the place and gave a mock sigh. "A whole twenty minutes away? Criminal."
He shrugged. "I'm offended at the lack of faith you have in me." He opened the drivers door and climbed in. He googled the place and gave a mock sigh. "A whole twenty minutes away? Criminal."
"You mean I have to spend forty minutes in a car with you?" She asked with a frown. "Yippe, can't wait."
He rolled his eyes. "Aw. I'm sure you'll survive. If not, well, it won't be the end of the world."
"Do you know how contradictory that sounds?" She asked sounding rather annoyed.
"Nope. Nor do I care." He flashed a grin, starting the car and pulling from the hotel parking lot.
Joanna turned to look out the window and sighed. 'This is going to be the longest twenty minutes of my life.'
He grinned to himself and merged into the traffic. There were so many cars around, and he hated it, but he didn't show it.
After being bored, she looked over to him and raised a brow. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing," he hummed, hiding a saticfied smile.
"Nuh uh, I'm not playing this game with you. What is it?" She asked more demanding now.
"Why does it matter?"
"Because you're not telling me that's why." She replied just as sternly as before.
"So?" He still didn't look at her. "I don't need to tell you every single tiny detailof my life."
"So, I am not asking every tiny detail of your life, not now anyways." She replied sharply, trying not to say something to trigger her memories.
"But you're asking about something that I clearly don't feel like sharing with you."
"Fine, don't tell me." Joanna replied, feeling the nostalgia coming from times past. "Just keep it to yourself, like you always did."
"You think I would ever tell you?" What had started as an innocent conversation was rapidly becoming dirty.
"You would have, I thought at least. Maybe when we were friends." She hissed, avoiding looking at him.
"We were friends?" He snarled. "Why would I ever be friends with scum like you?"
Her heart dropped. He didn't even remember? "You seriously don't remember? None of it? Was it all nothing? All those years we spent, and you just erased them from your memories?" She asked clearly offended.
He rolled his eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about. Clearly, someone fucked up your brain, because I never spent any time with you, Henaghan."
That was it, she snapped. "You're such an-" She looked at him, ready to start screaming at him, but something in the back of her mind was telling her not to. To keep calm and deal with this later. Oh how bad she wanted to ignore it, that little voice, but she couldn't seem to do it. So she shut up.
When she didn't finish her statement, he grinned slightly and drove a little faster, victorious once again. He frowned slightly, puzzled. Why did she say that they had once been friends? It didn't make sense.
Joanna wanted to choke him. His stupid grin, and all. He was an idiot, and he clearly didn't remember a thing about their history. Thoughts of beating the snot out of him filled her head, and though she wasn't usually a violent person, she smirked at the thought of his suffering.
When they got there, Arsen glanced at her. "Did they place a reservation?" He asked, glancing at her. "Or will I have to pay?"
