"Reservations." She said quietly, but as sharp as the edge of a knife. Her smile had faded, and she was back to stoic. Tonight was going to be a tough acting job.
"Reservations." She said quietly, but as sharp as the edge of a knife. Her smile had faded, and she was back to stoic. Tonight was going to be a tough acting job.
"Fantastic." He gave her a lazy smile, one that would make other girls feel weak and excited, but if someone knew him well enough, they could see that it was fake, plastered on, a mask. "Well, then, let's go, my dear." He got out, opening her door, and smirked at her.
“Thank you, honey.” She replied in a sickly sweet tone. She was rather upset, so now it was going to show through. But what are you gonna do about it?
The two of them walked into the restraunt. A man stood at the front. "Welcome to the Ice House," he said in a bored, droaning voice. "How can I help you tonight?"
"We have reservations," Joanna replied just as dully.
"Under what name?" The man didn't seem to notice how glum she was acting.
Joanna looked to Arsen, and then back at the man at the front. "Powells, thank you." She said simply, trying to pull herself together. She slid her hand in Arsen's, trying to play it cool.
He typed something into the computer in front of him, then looked up at them with slightly awed looks, but didn't comment. "Right this way," he said, leading them toward the back. "You're just in time. Early, even, although only by a few minutes."
"You mean my sister isn't here yet?" Joanna asked, hoping she had misinterpreted the information given to the two of them. She hoped she was wrong, she didn't want to be alone with this idiot for more than a second.
"No no no no no," the man said hurriedly. "They're here. They just told me not to expect you for another few minutes."
Arsen felt his lips twitch.
'Thank the good gracious lord above' Her thoughts echoed, a small smile coming to her lips. "Well thank you sir," She smiled some, still holding Arsen's hand.
"They're right in here." He led them to a private room, where two people were waiting.
"This isn't sketchy or anything," She whispered to Arsen, getting a little closer to him. She wasn't sure how she felt about this, it made her uncomfortable that's for sure.
"Oh, not at all," he murmered. "Especially since we've never met the people in the first place, so how the hell are we supposed to act?"
She kicked his leg, but never dropped the extremely fake smile she was holding. "Just relax, and this will fly by." She muttered back, through her teeth.
He snorted. "Take your own advice. You look like you're about to be sick."
A woman stood from a table, extending her hands in greeting. "Daria! Lucas! So good to see you!" Her voice was warm and friendly.
(When you can't remember the fact that she's Jo's "cousin" not sister, and can't even remember her name because you have such a bad memory-)
Joanna rolled her eyes some, before turning and smiling to the lady. "It is! It's been forever!" She laughed some, setting her handbag down.
(What? That totally never, ever happens to me…)
A man entered as well. He went over to the woman and kissed her cheek before turning to them. "Hello Lucas, Daria." He smiled. "So good to see you again."
Arsen shook his hand, grinning. "It is indeed. It's been too long."
The man smiled slightly. "Come. Let's sit down and talk while we wait to order."
(Heh, doesn't it suck?)
Joanna took a hold of Arsen's arm, in a rather natural way, a fake but hard to trace smile on her lips.
"I do have to thank you, I had been meaning to call you." She told the woman, as they made their way over to the table. Just trying to play her role right, she kissed Arsen's cheek some, and let go of his arm to sit down.
(No, no, it never does, where did you get that idea XD?)
"Oh, no, dear, you don't have to apologize," the woman said, smiling warmly. Arsen frowned slightly. What was her name again? Oh, right. Luna. He smiled back at her, before turning to the man.
"So, how have you been?" He asked casually, trying to act normal.
(OH MY GOODNESS I JUST HAD AN IDEA! WHAT IF THEY ACTUALLY ARE COUSINS, BUT THE SYSTEM ERASED THEIR MEMORIES OF LUNA AND HER HUSBAND AND REPLACED THEM WITH SOMETHING ELSE?! I mean, they wouldn't be married, but…)
(Thoughts?)
(Alright, I’d get excited with you, but I’m a little confused about who you’re talking about specifically. Arsen and Joanna? Or like Joanna and Luna? Sorry, I just am a little lost- heh)
Joanna kept the bright and fake smile, glancing at Arsen. Luna smiled brighter, as if that was possible, and put a hand on her husband's arm. "Oh it's been lovely, me and [because I friggin forget: NAME] have had a lovely time. We've gone to Australia recently, but had to leave early because of the wildfires. Oh it's so tragic." She sighed some, before going back to perky. "What about you two?"
(Sorry lol, I was talking about Arsen and Joanna. Like, what if they actually knew Luna and her husband once upon a time, and Luna is actually Joanna's cousin, but the System decided that the relationship was too chaotic, and erased it from both their minds, and that's why Arsen doesn't remember their friendship. Idk. It doesn't have to happen, I was just struck with that idea.)
(Also, her husband's name is Jake. I totally didn't have to go through the entire roleplay to find it, because I totally didn't forget it.)
Arsen glanced at Joanna, thinking quickly for a believable lie. "We actually have been having a rather boring, if not relaxed time. Daria and I have been staying here for a bit, although we're actually considering staying at the beach house for a bit." He shrugged, looking the perfectpicture of calm, although, under the table, where the Powells couldn't see, his fists were clenched into fists, nails digging into his palms.
