Pouting, she rested her forearms on the table. It was almost 100% acting, about .5% of her really did want to still hold his hand. But obviously not enough to do anything about it. She didn't care that much. Right? "I agree, this is really amazing."
"You've only had about three bites," he pointed out.
"So? It's still good." She sassed back at him, a slight smirk on her lips. Joanna liked being able to say things that he couldn't argue back, she just felt more powerful. Even if it was something as stupid as that.
"I see. If that's the case, why aren't you eating it?" Arsen smirked at her. His hand started to tap on the table. He had finished eating, and was now nursing his drink, a cup of hot black coffee. He knew that he probably shouldn't have caffeine so late in the day, but this was so good that he didn't care.
(I'm sorry it took so long to respond, I had a rough day yesterday)
"Because," She paused, to come up with a plausible reason. "Because I'm trying to make conversation with you all. I'm bad at doing both at the same time." She told him, picking up her spoon.
(Oh, it's fine! You don't have to apologize, I get it 100%. Maybe even 101%)
"I know," he said, leaning back in his chair. "You're a terrible conversationalist. Me, on the other hand… I'm amazing. With all my wit, good looks and charm… I'm an amazing person," he preened.
Luna snorted.
Joanna glared at him, frowning some. So going to her childish ways, she ate her soup in silence. But a little thing slipped out before she went silent. “Yeah right.”
Arsen gave a mock gasp. "That hurt me," he said, placing his hand on the right side of his chest. "Right here."
Joanna smirked, setting her spoon aside. "Did it now? Does my baby need a kiss to make it better?" She teased, flicking his nose before going back to her soup.
"That's not what you're supposed to say," Arsen complained, making a face at her. "You're supposed to say, Your heart is on the other side of your chest."
"Were you always this weird to each other, or was I imagining it?" Luna wondered, looking at the two of them.
Joanna rolled her eyes, but when she heard Luna's question she froze up. "W-well I think it's just something that we've caught, it's on and off." Joanna laughed nervously.
"I don't know," Luna said, looking amused, not suspicious. "You seem very strange. Then again, I'm not one to talk." She glanced at Jake, who shrugged.
"Ahah, I've also been rather tired lately. So that may be part of it." She said, still rather stiff and nervous. "What about you?" She asked Arsen, picking up her spoon to get out of the conversation.
"Eh." He shrugged. "I always act this fabulous."
Joanna choked, trying not to laugh. She glared at him, and swallowed her spoon full before picking up a napkin and coughing into it. "H-Honey…" She whined, wiping her mouth off.
"Yes?" He said sweetly. "Is there a problem?"
“You’re going to make me choke.” She laughed lightly, setting her napkin aside.
"I know," he said, smirking. He ran a hand through his hair and looked at his watch, before glancing up at Luna and Jake. They were whispering to each other.
Finishing off her soup, Joanna looked at the two whispering. 'That's odd…' She thought, looking at Arsen confused. "Did I miss something?" She asked in a whisper.
He shrugged. "I don't know."
"Oh, look at the time!" Luna exclaimed. "We should really get going!"
"O-Oh, really?" She asked, turning from facing her partner. A shaken, and surprised look was on her face. "Well, if you to must be going, I'm so glad we got to see you."
"I agree. It was nice seeing the two of you," Luna said, looking like she was about to burst apart.
Arsen frowned, but didn't say anything. He stood, offering a hand to Joanna. "A-alright. See you later, I guess?"
Watching the two disappear, Joanna took his hand to stand. "Well that was a disaster." She whispered, not looking at Arsen, just watching the married couple leave.
"Oh, yes it was." He watched as the two of them left, whispering to each other. Luna looked about to cry, and Jake looked distressed. "I wonder what's wrong."
"I really don't know, but I think it may have been something we said." Joanna mentioned, mindlessly lacing their fingers together. "Yet again, what could have been so bad, that would have made Luna so upset? And Jake, for that matter."
