She held herself turned away from Arsen. "You aren't helping me…" She grumbled trying to push the invasive thoughts away. "I could never live a normal life, I would always be paranoid. Where could I go huh? My parents can't stand me, my siblings wouldn't help me. Where could I go?" She asked turning back to him.
"Dunno. Get a job, get your own place. You're a siren, you could make someone give you a job." He shrugged. "Besides, it doesn't matter right now." He turned halfway to her. "What does it say about our aliases?"
She didn't reply, and continued to pace, muttering to herself. After a minute she looked at him and blinked a few times. "S-sorry what?" She asked confused at to what he asked.
He sighed and shook his head. "What did you find about Lucas and Daria?"
"I-it's on the laptop, feel free to look at it." She mumbled sitting down on the floor by the mirror. Cleaning up her makeup, she mumbled to herself.
He sighed and stood, moving over to the laptop. He glanced at the few results that popped up and sighed.
“See what I mean?” She asked standing back up, with her makeup bag zipped up in her hand.
"I do," he murmured, clicking on a link. It didn't say much, just something about winning an award for bravery or something. He clicked out, sighing.
“What did that say? Anything for me?” She asked heading into her room, tossing the makeup bag on her bed.
"Nothing. Just something about Lucas winning an award for bravery." He pinched his lips together, clicking on another link. It was about Lucas and Daria's wedding, with pictures and everything. He smiled slightly. "Found something." He motioned her over. "This is what we look like." They looked very similar to their aliases, which was good, but Arsen was slightly concerned that the two actually existed.
“Hold on, I’m coming.” She said tying the flannel she had just slipped on in the front. “What is it?”
"This is what we look like," he said, gesturing to the screen. "At our wedding. Might want to base your look on that."
Joanna nodded and sat beside him. "Sounds like a plan, though I already got the dress." She mumbled stretching out. "It's kinda scary how close we look."
"Isn't it? The System is very thorough about this stuff. They must have planned our characters very carefully." He chewed his lip. "I wonder how they managed to find everything."
"I'm a little creeped by that. I don't think I would wanna know." She shrugged lightly pushing herself off the couch. "Save that picture, we'll need it for later." Joanna noted as she walked back into her room.
"I'll send you the entire post!" He called after her. "It has stuff about the wedding that might be useful later."
“Oh that’s smart.” She Hollered back to him. She stretched and went into her bathroom to wash the makeup from her face. “Let me know what else you find.”
"Will do!" He called back, already sending the link to himself. "I'll need your number, though!"
Joanna walked back in the room with a clean face, and her hair fixed back up into a ponytail. "What was that?" She hummed leaning over his shoulder. "I couldn't hear you over the water."
Sighing internally, he said, "I need your number. To send the stuff to you. Unless you just want me to save it onto this thing." He gestured to the laptop.
"Why not both?" She asked reaching over his shoulder to put her number in. "Mind if I type it in?" Joanna asked tipping her head to the side, feeling awkward at how close she had made them.
"Sure," he muttered, sliding his phone over to her. He was unaware of how close they were, or how uncomfortable it was making Joanna seem.
She took his phone and typed the number in. "Alright there, don't lose it until this mission is over." She mumbled pushing away from him. "Find anything else?"
"Nothing else interesting." Of the four results that came up, one was useful, that was the wedding one, one was about winning an award or something, and two were about an old couple with the same last name and fairly similar first names. So, maybe family? He had no idea.
"Well, that sucks." She groaned rubbing a hand over her face. "So we know basically nothing." Joanna muttered, as she walked around to sit on the couch.
