She gritted her teeth at the nickname, but if this was how he was going to treat her, two could play at that game. "Well Honey I wouldn't know, so I was clearing things up."
She gritted her teeth at the nickname, but if this was how he was going to treat her, two could play at that game. "Well Honey I wouldn't know, so I was clearing things up."
"Well, why don't you know? I have such a stunning personality." He smirked slightly.
"I avoid talking with you and I loathe you. That's why." She muttered through a sharp glare.
"At least the feeling is mutual." He smiled sweetly and turned to look out at the people still coming into the plan, scanning them. She had gotten the window seat, so he couldn't even look out the window.
Joanna leaned against the plane wall, and huffed. She didn't want to talk with him anymore, or at all. But she wasn't given much of a choice once they had landed.
When they got to New York and out of the airport, Arsen had to get directions from his phone to the hotel. It was roughly five miles away, and he didn't want to walk that far. But hailing a txi would take so much work… he glanced at Joanna. Should he ask her? Nah. He didn't need help.
Joanna tapped her foot impatiently waiting for him to start going. "Well? Where's our hotel?" She asked crossing her arms with a stern look on her face.
He raised an eyebrow at her. "The middle of the sea, conveniently." His teeth ground at her tone, but before he could hail a taxi, or even an Uber, a beautiful car pulled up in front of them. "Lucas and Daira Fellin? I'm Jason Lincoln. I'm here to pick you up, on the orders of Mr. Jackson."
Joanna switched her tone, and a smile broke onto her lips. She took Arsen's arm and looked at him. "Babe, isn't that convenient?" She asked in such a fake lovesick tone, but it wouldn't pass.
He didn't look at her. "Very." A bit too convenient…
"I know right? You need to relax a little, you seem tense." She hummed and pulled his shoulder down and stood on her toes. She kissed his cheek, and bopped his nose:
Fighting the urge to recoil, he opened the door for her, giving a mock bow. "After you."
"Thanks honey." She smiled giving him a concerned look. "You need to just play it cool." She mouthed before slipping into the back.
He rolled his eyes. He was usually a good actor, but she made him annoyed, and lose his composure. This was going to suck. He climbed into the car after her.
"So where are we headed?" Joanna asked tucking her hair behind her ear. "Me and him were headed off to our hotel."
"Why, the Plaza Hotel!" The man croaked. "Where else?"
"I was just curious." She smiled politely looking at Arsen. "That's our hotel right?"
"Yes," he said shortly.
(Merry Christmas! Or Happy Holidays!)
“Ok good, thank you sir!” She smiled at the man driving.
(You too! Is it bad that I kinda forgot it was Christmas today?)
The driver gave a warm, crooked smile, and started driving off. Arsen sat stiff and still. He hated this role. Hated it with a passion.
(XD No, I didn't feel like it was Christmas at all)
Joanna really wish he would talk, if they were newly weds they should be happy and chit chatting. But of course he was being difficult, and she wasn't going to talk to him until he talked first.
(It really doesn't, does it?)
When they got to the hotel, the driver helped them unload their bags, and they got their rooms. Arsen was about to throw his bag onto the couch in his room - which was super nice, by the way - when he saw a folded slip of paper. Curiousity getting the better of him, he picked it up and unfolded it. It read, in simple, flowing script,
Silversen,
Get better at acting. You almost blew your cover. Man it up. I don't care if you hate her, this is your mission. Start acting like it is, not like this is slave labor, you lazy bastard.

A similar note was on Joanna's bed.
Henaghan,
I appreciate the willingness to work with that buffoon, Silversen. He's a handfull. But you two need to set aside your arguements and get your act on. You didn't engage more with him in the car on your way here, so it almost blew your cover. Act like it, even if he doesn't. You're the more responsible one here. Start acting like it.

Joanna sighed rubbing her face. "Fine, he needs to shape up though." She muttered tossing the note back on her bed. "Hey, Ars." She called walking out of her room.
(Or you could call him "Arse"… 'coz he is one…)
"What?" He snapped, annoyed.
(Oof XD)
Joanna crossed her arms and glared at him. "Did you get a note?" She asked sitting down away from him.
