"Heh. Thank you," Mycah sighed, a small, melancholy smile on their lips. If Winter hadn't been there, they would have charged at Crin a hundred times already. They glanced towards her again, their heart jumping at the sight of her moving towards the front of the room, where a small stage was. "She's moving!"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Of course." Winter replied. He nodded at Mycah's words. "Shall we get closer?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at the smaller person. "Or stay here? What would you prefer?"

"Hmm. We can stay this far away, but let's move to a better place." Mycah said, watching Crin weave through the crowd. They walked slowly towards the center of the crowd. It wasn't ideal, being surrounded by all these people, but they had a terrible angle where they were before. "If you see any place better, let me know."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded, staying beside Mycah. He kept his eyes flickering around, searching for exits and ways to escape. He had a few already, but it all depended on the flow of the crowd and how fast the guards started moving.

Mycah found a good place that wasn't quite so much in the middle of the crowd. Rising to the tips of their toes, Mycah wished for the hundredth time that they weren't so short. They could see okay, but what they wouldn't give for a really tall pair of heels.

Crin had finally reached the stage, but she was talking with some important-looking people. Probably wouldn't be talking just yet, Mycah guessed. They looked up at Winter, considering asking him if they could use him as really tall heels. But it would definitely draw attention to them, and they wanted to avoid that. Maybe once they were ready to shoot at Crin, though…

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter kept watching, cocking his head just a little bit. His face was expressionless, gaze cool and removed. He didn't look very interested, which hid the fact that in reality, he was very interested in what was going on.

Crin turned from the people beside her and faced the crowd. "Thank you all for coming to the party!" She exclaimed, grinning at everyone. "After many years of that terrible war, we have finally won. This country will be the greatest it has ever been, thanks to all of you." Her gaze swept over everyone and Mycah ducked their head, not wanting to meet her eyes.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter didn't move, standing as still as a statue in the crowd, his white hair falling in messy tufts on his head. Yeah. Greatest. Thanks to your treatment of people like Mycah and I. He thought bitterly, clenching his jaw slightly.

"I know that this has been a terrible time for all of us, but we will rise stronger. We will rise together. I will make sure this country is safe and healthy. I will ensure that everyone will get what they have always deserved but never gotten, thanks to the idiots that ruled before," Crin continued, her voice filled with grandeur, empty promises, and veiled threats. At least, that's how Mycah heard her. They peeked up, glad to see that she had stopped looking near them.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter frowned just a little bit, shifting and making an effort not to cross his arms. Crossing his arms would be a clear sign that something was wrong.

"This is ridiculous," Mycah muttered, just loud enough that only Winter could hear them. "Shall we stop her before she makes herself even more of a liar?" They wanted to make sure Winter was ready before they started shooting, just in case he had his own plan.

"Heh, thanks for noticing." Mycah sighed. "Yeah, that'd be nice. Less chance of hitting someone else. Not that most of the people in this room aren't almost as bad as her." They nodded, taking a steadying breath. This was it, wasn't it? Finally.

Mycah watched Crin, who was still droning on about how great she was and how wonderful everything would be now. Everyone seemed focused on her, not on the mismatched pair planning murder. Good. "Hmm… now," Mycah said, taking one last breath. Here's where it would all change.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded again, and picked mycah up, boosting him high enough to be able to get the deed done. Winter kept his eyes flashing around, watching the guards and the others in the crowd.

As soon as they were picked up, Mycah focused on Crin. A dramatic speech about how she'd ruined so many people's lives, how she was finally paying for her sins and all that sounded like a great idea, but Mycah had never been very good at speeches. And besides, the less time they wasted, the less time anyone would get to react. They raised their arm towards her, a black spot already shooting from their finger. Crin looked towards them right at it hit her chest, her face a mix of recognition, surprise, and shock. Mycah gave her a wild grin and sent a few more shots towards her, just to make sure, and Crin collapsed to the stage with a thump. The crowd had surged away from them after the first shot, and the guards were already running towards them. "Well, my job is done. If you have something, go ahead." Mycah said to Winter, dropping their arm.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter shook his head. "Just hold on while I get us outta here, yeah?" He replied, that faint smile overtaking his face as he turned Mycah so that the other could hang on. Winter needed both arms to wield his daggers, so Mycah needed to hang on on their own.

"Okay." Mycah nodded and hung on as tightly as they could without strangeling Winter. It would seem they would be trying to get out of here after all. Well, Mycah would do their best to help Winter get out, at least. The guards were closing in on the two of them, and most of the guests had run out.

@subliminal_miracles

( Okay so I accidentally clicked on this thread, but then I noticed the title so I just had to run over here and tell yall that for some reason (no matter the actual plot) I thought the title had an intense "insert meme- Call an ambulance! Call an ambulance! But not for me-" mood I lf;sdakf )
( Sorry that's all I have to say have a good day xD )

@ElderGod-Icefire

(uhm…okay lmao)

Winter drew out the daggers, and started towards the least guarded exit, those daggers making quick work of guards that managed to get close. Their blood soon stained his hands, soaked into his sleeves, made the floor slick beneath his feet.

Mycah kept looking over their shoulder, watching Winter's back. A few guards were trying to sneak up behind them both, but Mycah shot them. More guards were running in, and they were carrying guns. Not good. "How's the escape going? They have guns," Mycah said to Winter, aiming at the nearest guard.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter swore. "I don't have any defenses against guns. Can you take care of them? All I need is to get us out of this next entrance here and we'll be safe." he replied, making quick work of the guards that attempted to block their path from the front.
