“Yes. They’re going to murder-“ Anya caught her breath and knelt down, pulling Spencer with her and allowing the men walking by to pass. When they were gone, she stood up again, brushed off her impeccable skirt, and finished “-the president.”

Spencer nodded slowly, looking thoughtful for a moment.

"Do you think that could be what that woman was talking about?" he wondered aloud. "She did say something about stopping a murder. Maybe she was even on our side?"

"Just thinking out loud," Spencer muttered as they rounded a corner. He heard footsteps coming from behind them and checked if the nearest room was empty. It was, and he pulled Anya inside to get out of sight. Leaning against the wall, he waited for the person to pass.

When they’d gone, Anya whispered, “My point is, as barbaric as that may have seemed, I harbor no regrets. The mission is more important.”

(It's midnight…
I should sleep…
But I don't wanna…)

"I understand that. I just think that you could have loosened your hold a bit," Spencer pointed out. "Anyway, we should get back to our mission."

He double checked that no one was in the hall before stepping out.

//lol ur central right I’m pacific

“Good idea, Noah,” Anya mocked, following him. “Had I loosened my hold, she wouldn’t have felt that her physical self was in danger, and she wouldn’t have told us stuff.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol. Yes, Central.)

"Yes, well, Leslie, it seemed she felt that way anyway. I'm not sure you needed to choke her so hard that she passed out," Spencer shot back quietly, making his way down the hall. He checked every door he passed; each was empty, and each looked as if whoever had occupied it left in a hurry.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“It wasn’t intentional, I just needed info she wasn’t giving me,” Anya reasoned. “Stop making me feel bad. I haven’t felt bad in years.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Ok, bye!)

"Well, maybe you should. It keeps us from doing things we may regret later on," Spencer stated bluntly. He cleared his throat, glad that Anya was behind him so that she couldn't see the pain on his face. She had inadvertently reminded him of something from his past; something that he would much rather forget.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

//ooohhhh tragic backstories

Anya’s face flushed, but not from embarrassment. “You have no idea of the horrible (starts with s, ends with t) I’ve done,” she hissed.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Well, yes, his parents are dead, so…
But this is more related to something he did.
Also, Idc if you swear, I just don't do it myself.)

And you have no idea what I've done, Spencer thought bitterly.

He chose not to respond to the comment and continued to walk on in silence.

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

//kk I don’t really like to either it just seems like something Anya would do

Anya followed his lead and stayed quiet, but her silence was laced with ice.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Spencer thought about it for a moment. "While I'd rather do it myself, I feel like we would benefit more from you doing it because of your level of experience."

@CWTurtleOfFreedom

“Cool. See you on the other side,” Anya half-smiled. She crept inside the room, leaving no traces or indications that the door had been opened at all.
