//ok
Anya hurried down a hall, rounded a corner, and bumped into a semi-retreating Spencer. Pulling the president’s daughter behind her, Anya froze like a cornered cat. “Her again?” She muttered.
Spencer nodded, unfazed by Anya literally running into him. Eliza motioned him over again, and Spencer grimaced. What should he do? Should he go to her and risk his mission, or should he run for it, which could also possibly put the mission at risk?
Anya tried to hide the girl as best she could. She subtly grabbed the president’s wrist, hoping he wouldn’t make any indication that she’d done so, and nodded for Spencer to step forwards. Just another hostage retrieval mission, she told herself. But she knew it wasn’t.
//it just occurred to me that there was supposed to be a romance component to this lol
(Lol. I've been trying to figure out how to add that… Hence Spencer's "She's going to be the death of me" moments. ;P)
//XD
Anya tried to hide the girl as best she could. She subtly grabbed the president’s wrist, hoping he wouldn’t make any indication that she’d done so, and nodded for Spencer to step forwards. Just another hostage retrieval mission, she told herself. But she knew it wasn’t.
(It's also why he's so protective of her. He likes her, he just doesn't realize it yet.
…Or does he…?)
The president twitched when Anya grabbed his wrist but otherwise made no indication that she had done anything. Spencer let out a slow breath before stepping forward, his head held high and his eyes gleaming with authority.
Anya held her breath, waiting for the perfect moment to flee. She hoped that the president, despite his paunch, could run.
"Please, I don't intend to hurt you," Eliza said, holding her hands out in front of her. "Trust me, if I did, you'd already know it."
Spencer glared at her silently, daring her to continue.
Eliza rolled her eyes. "Oh, please. Darling, you know I know you're over there," she called to Anya.
Anya made no move. She already knew that she was in full view, but she was willing to bet the president’s daughter was not. “Darling,” Anya scoffed. “I do know my job.”
(We still gonna do romance on here or nah?)
"Yes, yes. Always very diligent to know what to do," Eliza remembered, slowly nodding her head.
Spencer watched the two women in apprehensive (and interested) silence.
//up to you tbh I was kinda looking forwards to it as long as it’s relatively PG lol
“Of course,” Anya drawled, stalking forwards. She knew the daughter was hidden. “And, of course, it is nearly as important to know others’ roles.”
(Lol. Same here.)
Eliza nodded. "Sure it is, dear. It's basically like knowing your place in society, isn't it?"
(For some reason she's now speaking in a British accent in my head…
Kinda like a character from the Flash…)
//XD
“Exactly,” Anya crooned, clasping her hands behind her back and beginning to pace in the hall, (intentionally) blocking Eliza from Spencer and the president and his daughter. “That in itself is an excellent way to establish your sense of self.”
(Have you seen it? The Flash, I mean.)
"Oh, yes, definitely. And knowing how to do your job well is even more important than just knowing how to do it," Eliza purred. Her eyes flicked to Spencer and Anya, and then back and forth again.
//nope
“Exactly. I am so glad that we are on the same page,” Anya mused, her heels clicking on the polished floor. “Quality over quantity, every time.”
(Oh, it's hilarious!)
Her eyes narrowing as she continued to look between the two spies, Eliza hummed. "Yes. Precisely."
//good to know lol
Anya had run out of things to say, so she merely batted her eyelashes at Eliza demurely, as if saying, “What have you to fear?”
"Anyway, I'm not here to point out the obvious," Eliza started. "I'm here to help."
Spencer couldn't hold back a snort of laughter at her statement.
Anya’s expression remained stoic, showing no sign of her internal reaction, which was something like, Sure, honey. Sure. “While I’m sure we would be glad for your help, it really isn’t necessary,” Anya said, drawing out her words.
(Sorry, I've got some pretty bad family issues that I have to deal with, so I don't know how much I'll be on.)
Eliza scowled. "Well that's not how it seems. If I wasn't there to distract Ana-Maria, you'd probably still be trying to get the president and his daughter out."
//oh my gosh! No, you are totally fine, don’t worry about it. Let me know if I can help
“I’ve punched my way out of many worse situations,” Anya said blatantly. “We would have been fine. Thanks though.”
(I'm just stressed out about it, but Notebook and role playing helps.
Anya has no chil, lol.)
"Okay, fine. Do you want me to tell Ana about your helping President McCallister and his daughter, then?" Eliza questioned, giving Anya a look.
Spencer watched the interaction between the two women, his eyebrows raised in slight amusement.
