He clapped with an amused smile. "Good job."
He clapped with an amused smile. "Good job."
She smiled proudly and leaned against the trunk. "Truth or dare?"
"Hmm…dare? I guess? Don't want you to be alone."
"I dare you to climb up here with me!" she replied without hesitation. True, she was afraid of falling, but she wouldn't tell him that was the reason she said that.
"Alright, fine then!" He got up and walked over to the tree, easily jumping and pulling himself up onto the branch. "Done and done. I've been climbing trees since I was 8."
"Impressive. Betcha can't get to the next one though!" She then busied herself with trying not to fall as she climbed.
He rolled his eyes with a smirk and climbed up to the next branch with ease. "Come on shortstack, you're holding up the line." He chuckled.
"I am NOT short!" She might as well have had steam coming from her ears. "I will have you know I am 4 feet 10 inches and one quarter." All of a sudden she pinned him to the tree, though he probably just let her, and growled, "I will destroy you." although it probably sounded not at all threatening.
"Sweetheart, I'm 5'5" and literally have to look down to talk to you." He smirked slightly. "Well, unless you're on top of me like this." Boi could be smooth when he wanted to.
Her face turned red and she plopped her face onto his chest in embarrassment. She let out a muffled "Shut up."
He simply chuckled and shook his head. "Where have I seen this situation before? Actually, I should say heard. That's more accurate."
"Huh?" Angel raised her head and searched her mind until her thoughts landed on the conversation they had after they got off the bus. She looked down at the position they were in and her face got darker, if that was even possible. "Oh gosh. This, uh…I can move…if you want." In truth, she would rather stay right where she was.
"Nah, stick around. I like having you in my lap."
She let out a barely audible squeak, buried her face back into Jay's jacket and softly gripped onto his shoulders to make sure she wouldn't fall. "Ok." she whispered. What the fuck am I doing? I don't know how I'm supposed to handle this. Calm down, Angel. Just sit and do nothing.
He wrapped his arms around her waist in order to keep her steady, wanting to make sure that she wouldn't fall.
She stiffened up a bit when his arms made contact with her but relaxed when she was sure she wouldn't fall. She hesitantly snaked her arms around his neck, laid her head on his shoulder and let out a content sigh.
"Nice and comfortable there, Angel?" He chuckled, squeezing her softly.
"Yes." She closed her eyes and just listened to his heartbeat, which was beating in a calming rhythm.
He kept her close, not wanting her to fall out of the tree. Plus, she was warm and that was always welcomed.
She took a breath and quickly kissed him on the cheek. OMG, I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST DID THAT! WHAT IF SOMEONE SEES US?
He chuckled softly. "Never took you for the shy type, Angel. Where did all that energy go?"
"It disappeared. Gone. Poof." she squeaked. In truth she wasn't skittish when she knew someone until it came to things like this. She had absolutely no experience with actually acting on her romantic feelings.
"Aww, is someone flustered?" He teased with a grin. He was having fun with this.
"Shut up!" Her voice had risen in pitch and her face went red.
"That's a yes. I don't mind." He bent down closer to her ear. "I think it's cute~" He purred.
