Her breath caught in her throat and her heart rate sped up. Usually she would hate when people called her cute but this time she didn't really mind. In fact, it made her even more flustered than before.
Her breath caught in her throat and her heart rate sped up. Usually she would hate when people called her cute but this time she didn't really mind. In fact, it made her even more flustered than before.
He leaned back with a smirk. "You blush easily, don't you? You must if this much is making you so red."
(Dude, this is making ME blush, I'm dying. XD)
"Oh my gosh, shut up." she spoke as she tried to hide her face from him.
"Why don't you make me sweetheart~?" He raised an eyebrow at her with a teasing smirk. He was having way too much fun with this.
"Alright then, I will!" She planted her lips on his and tightened her grip around him.
He was a little surprised by her forwardness but didn't reject it, kissing her back and holding her a little tighter.
She honestly didn't expect him to kiss her back. Eventually, she broke off for air and placed her forehead against his. Staring into his eyes with a smirk on her face, she whispered, "How's that for flustered?"
"Considering you're still bright red, I'd say you're more flustered than I am." He chuckled. Not that it didn't effect him at all, his cheeks were tinted a light pink.
She let out a defeated groan and lowered her head. "You win." She suddenly stopped as something on her hand caught her eye. It was…no. Amber had begun to encase her hand. "Shit." Dangit, dangit dangit! I did NOT plan for this!
He too had noticed the strange material that had begun to grow on her hand. "Um, are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah! I'm fine!" She put on a smile as she shoved her hand into her pocket. A bell sounded in the distance signaling it was time to eat. "We should get going." she said as she attempted to climb down with only one hand.
"Here, hold onto me, I'll get you down." He tightened his grip on her and slowly climbed down with her in his arms until he was back on the ground.
"Thanks." She gripped his hand and walked into the cafeteria. Sitting down, she whispered, "Oh, hey, I forgot to tell you. A couple of the girls were talking about how they were gonna rig the boys cabin today. Something about silly string and toilet paper. Watch out."
"Well I guess that means I'm sleeping in a tree tonight." He chuckled.
"Nah, we can just camp out in a tent for the rest of the time we're here. Once a prank war starts, it doesn't stop until someone admits defeat." She wouldn't let him go out there alone. Never know what could be out there.
"That's true. But knowing the guys, they'll try to get me involved and that's going to be a nightmare trying to get them off my case."
"True." Angel glanced down at her hand. Regardless of whether Jay was going, she was staying in the woods until this whole thing was over with whether he liked it or not.
"So, um, what's going on with your hand?" He felt awkward asking but he was genuinely curious.
Angel glanced around the room to make sure no one was looking. Once satisfied, she leaned in and said in a hushed voice, "We can't talk about this here. Meet me by the lake after dinner. I'm going AWOL. Cover for me?" She couldn't risk anyone hearing. There was no telling what would happen.
"Yeah, will do." He went up to eat, shooting a confused look back at her before brushing it off, trying to seem nonchalant.
She took a sandwich from the salad bar and walked back to the lake. She looked down at her hand, only to see the amber was now making its way up her arm. She sat against a tree, hidden from view of anyone who walked by.
He finished up quickly and headed out to the lake, looking around for Angel.
(This is right before curfew btw)
"Over here!" She waved so he could see her. The substance had encased her arm and was traveling down her side by this point. "I suppose you want an explanation."
"Yeah, definitely, what's going on?" He looked at the amber, highly confused and concerned.
"Well, for starters, I'm going through metamorphosis early." She grabbed onto the tree with her free hand and stood up. "I didn't really expect for it to happen TODAY, but it looks like it's happening whether I like it or not." She turned and started walking up the river that led into the lake. At the end was a waterfall she slipped behind it and sat on a grass mat. "I'll be staying here until it's over. I'll probably be encased completely by tomorrow morning, and when I come out the next day I'll look a lot different." She was worried about what he'd say. She hoped he wouldn't tell anyone. She really needed someone on her side.
