He only let out a soft chuckle at her comment, though full of fear making his knees shake. He wasnt going to be able to live this down was he?
“Well yes he did, and i need to be gone before moonrise. Though I’m not stupid. I knew that” he says stepping with her before sitting down beside Val, still processing how stunning she looked.
“Even without his permission i would have gotten to you. I’m no pussy” he says leaning back, running his hands through his hair and looking to the side at her. Man, he wasnt going to be able to get over her.
Snapping out of his thoughts, he turned back to the river, forcing himself not to look at her.
“Anyway, i came here to…” he paused, swallowing his pride. Which was about as big as a boulder.
“Well, I’m sorry” he crossed his arm, pouting as he looked away, his face growing red.
“I didnt mean to come across mean…to you or anything. I just got a bit defensive and I’m sorry” he turned back to the lake, trying to hide his red face.
”man, sucking it up is a lot harder than i thought it would be. I hate it” he thought to himself as he waited for her reply, almost not wanting her to reply. Maybe she would change the subject?
No, he wasnt going to wimp out. No changing the subject!!!
Unless she wanted to of course (eye shift eye shift)
Val laughed softly “wow, this must be a new all time low for ya, huh eddy? Apologizing to a dog…never thought that’d happen.” She looked down at the lake below before flicking her amber gaze to his features, smirking as she saw his slight blush. “I think that’s why he ultimately let you go, he knew you’d go anyways.” She mused, straightening and resting her head on her shoulder as she propped her handsome behind her. “You don’t have to apologies Min. I get why you said what you said. It’s okay, really.” She offered a reassuring smiled.
He listened, leaning over and fiddling with his pale thumbs.
Sitting back and looking at her. “I wasnt asking for your forgiveness” he says turning back around, throwing a rock into the water. Feeling still a bit bad for being hostile, he took in a deep breath. “You look nice” he mumbled as he leaned back as well. “That was a compliment by the way” he says, thinking it was important to mention since he never compliments people, simply stating facts about them.
His heart beat hard against his chest whilst complimenting her, hoping for her to say something.
She shrugged and watched as the rock skipped across the water "I'm fairly certain 'I'm sorry' warrants some ask of forgiveness from the person it was directed to, Min. Either way, you don't have to be sorry, I get my occasional dig in sometimes so I think we're equal at the moment." she said, blushing and looking away when he complimented her, finding it odd that he had to specify that it was a complement. "Uhm, thanks. We have meeting with all the surrounding alpha's today so I take it as an excuse to dress fancy." she blushed even more, thinking the reasoning pathetic. She brought her kneed up to her chest and buried her head in her arms
He tried his best to distract himself by finding rocks but every time he skipped them he missed and they sunk down to the bottom of the river. How was he supposed to react to that? Was she embarrassed? It was quite cute, but he tried not to focus on it.
Pulling his feet up to the rock and sitting criss cross, he leaned forward, tilting his head a bit. "I like it. And that sounds like a good reasoning to me. Though you should do that more often. Just my opinion though, you don't have to follow it" he says looking at her, hoping she would pop her head out of hiding.
"I don't think I'd be able to handle all the stares from walking into school with a dress like this on every single day." She said, peeking over her arms to look at him. "Plus I don't have that many dresses, only five so I think people would start noticing. I don't think I need that much more attention." she shuddered at the though and cracked a slight smile, feeling more comfortable as the embarrassment faded. "maybe I will, for a school dance or something. you do have those, right? school dances, this isn't some strange school that prohibits students from having fun right?"
"I didn't mean all dresses. Skirts are fine too. They're just cute I guess" he shrugged, hoping she didn't take that as seeing him as a pervert. He would cry. Just kidding, he bottles up everything too much for that to happen.
"and yes, we do have school dances. None that I've ever gone to. I've never liked dances in the first place" he says remembering the night hennas turned. Shaking his thoughts, he looked back at her.
"it's next month around the 15 I think. I thought about telling you, but I didn't know if you already knew or not."
she tilted her head with a questioning look, "alright….that broadens my wardrobe a bit….I guess?" she perked up at the mention of a near by dance "no, I didn't….is it themed? or just a generic dance that turns into a high school raid club after 8:00?" she smiled to herself, wondering why all dances she'd heard about sem more like night clubs than actual dances. Her brother went to one before, he had told her that everyone was so close together that a room full of kids turned into half once they were all condense. He had also told her about the music, glaringly loud that you'd have to literally scream to talk to the person beside you.
He let out a small laugh and shook his head. "our school dances are nice. My sister and her boyfriend go to them every year. Though this would be the first time they would go as a couple" he says thinking about it for a second more before resuming his conversation. "they've decided on a theme, but I can't remember what it is. You can go ask the party planning committee if you'd like. I mean, I can to if you don't want to yourself of course. But um" he paused, trying his best not to be awkward…and failing "nevermind. I can ask them" he says with a small chuckle. "have you ever been to a dance?"
"aw, that cute. Maybe I'll see them if I go." she said with a shrug. "We have a party planning committee? I didn't even know that was a thing…." she turned her gaze back to Min as he stumbled over his words "it's okay, I'll ask if all your sentences are gonna come out like that." she teased, patting his shoulder in condolence "Nope, these are the closest thing I get to dances. Plus, most dancing, isn't really dancing…..most of it's weird touching and trying to get away…" she shook her head in disgust "that's why i hang out here most of the night, no one dares come looking and i can make a quick getaway if I'm surrounded."
Tensing up a bit when she touched him, but quickly forced himself to relax, hoping not to make her uncomfortable. It was a thing he naturally did whenever he was touched. Hopefully she hadn't noticed the weird behavior, as well as all of his others.
"I don't normally talk like this.. It's just-" he paused, obviously joking something in. No, he wasn't about to say he was nervous around her or anything. She was gorgeous yes. Absolutely stunning and beautiful and sweet a funny with a little bit of sass which he found adorable yet somehow frightening at the same time. But he wasn't nervous around her! Right?
Wrong.
"nevermind. You can if you'd like" he says burying his face in his knees when he pulled them up to his chest. It was slowly getting darker and darker. He knew he would have to leave, but he didn't want to. Of course he wouldn't. He was with Val after all.
Looking at her with a concerned look as she talked about the "dances" he felt a bit protective, but knew he couldn't do anything about it. She knew how to handle it so he would let her. The pack wouldn't actually hurt her would they?
No, that was none of his business.
Val still found his behavior a bit weird, did she really effect him that much? or was he just not used to her yet? she didn't want to make him uncomfortable so she said nothing. After a while, she perked up and grabbed his should, twisting around and sniffing the air. "get down, someone's here." she said quietly, not waiting for him to do as told, only shifting and jumping off the rock. She let out a low bark followed by a growl as a figure emerged from the darkness. A thinning grey wolf with light amber eyes, her gait staggered as she padded forward. Though her stride was off, she walked with the confidence of any trained beta, possibly even a beta.
He was stuck in his little butterfly swarm of thoughts as they slowly fled down to his stomach to even realize she was a bit quieter.
He wondered what she thought of him, but he would never ask. They were just friends right now and he didn't think they'd form into anything more. Well-not that he wanted them to of course!
(he's just a bit dense ^3^)
Thrown completely off guard when she grabbed his shoulder. His eyes widened when she made him turn to her and his mind went to all sorts of places and possibilities in that one second before he heard her.
Immediately listening to her, he ducked down and hid, though of course he didn't want to. He didn't dare turn around and look. No, he just sat and listened hard.
Though his curiosity got the best of him, he peeked a tiny bit quickly to see another wolf before poking his head back down out of view before the wolf could see.
What was happening? Was Tiana friend? She seemed too hostile to be a friend with Val, but he was her friend and he was hostile like 90 % of the time, so he wasn't one to judge.
(he dense like poundcake…but we love him anyways!)
Val immediately relaxed upon being the other wolf and trotted up to her happily, nudging her head with the other's and trotting in a small circle. The other she-wolf let out a rubbling bark and smiled at Val. She let out a series of barks and shifted "Min, it's alright!" she called, walking with the older wold until they were at the base of the rock. The she-wold shifted into an older lady, dark hair like vals though her complexion was clear and her green eyes right. "Young vampire, a wold can smell you a mile away. there's no need to hide. I'm not going to hurt you with my granddaughter around. Especially since she seems to approve of you being here." she explained both with gentleness and authority.
(YES)
(I'm calling him poundcake now. Thank you)
Hesitantly, he slipped out from the rock confidently, a natural glare on his face. "I wasn't scared. She just told me to get down so I did" he rolled his eyes, crossing his arms underneath his chest.
With more than one wolf around him at a time, he felt rather threatened. He hated the feeling his gut gave him. Either be hostile and fight or run away. But of course he wasn't a wuss, so he stood his ground confidently. Even though it was an older woman, he knew they were still a threat. Not as much as the younger ones, but they have experience.
He was a bit happy to hear she approved of him, as he still didn't quite know how Val felt about him. He still said nothing more, afraid something meaner than he thought would come out. And he was right to. He stuck a bit closer to Val, feeling more comfortable than out in the open clearing. Though he still had his confidence like none other
“Min, this is our grandmother, Zilia. She used to be Female Alpha of the pack before mom and dad got married. “Zizi, this is Min-Hyuk, the one from my chem class.”
Zilia nodded her head in acknowledgement “finally nice to meet the boy Val has been talking so much about.” She said, voice raspy but still held warmth. She studied Min for a bit, green eyes bright. “You radiate confidence and non-chalance yet when around her, you calm down. You let your guard drop just the tiniest bit and allow peace to resonate with that confidence.”
Val tilted her head slightly in confusion before looking over at Min, hoping he’d understand what her grandmother was saying
Turning a bit red when she mentioned the fact that Val's apparently talked about him a lot to her pack, though he tried his best to ignore it.
As the woman talked he looked at her in pure confusion, though knowing exactly what she was saying. Why she was saying it was a mystery to him.
Looking over to Val when she was done he shrugged. "yeah, and?" he says keeping his arms tightly crossed. How this woman was completely right freaked him out a bit along with her presence alone. But he didn't dare do anything. He would have most likely attacked if Val weren't here, as he had no idea who this wolf was if she wasn't introduced so kindly to him.
Holding his posture of confidence and strength, sure not to show any weakness he held eyes with the wolf once again. "is your grandma a shrink or Somethin?" he mumbled leaning over to Val, not breaking eyecontact with the woman.
(she freaked the boy out but he needs it XD)
(I love this lady)
(XDXD aw thanks!)
"Young man, I can here you. To answer your question, no, I'm not a shrink. I just pick on small movements and emotions. Call it a sixth sense if you will." She said with a small smile, leading them to the rock Val's things her on. "Calm yourself vampire, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm too old to fight anymore, plus I've had my fair share of scrimmages with your kind in the past. So much so that I hold nothing against your kind anymore." She sat down on a lower rock, Val walking over to ease her down on the rock and sat beside her, waving min over to sit beside her
"I'm the last wolf you should be concerned about Min, unless of course when Val is involved. But I'm sure Chire has explained that very thoroughly."
He was impressed by her, though not surprised one bit. For a werewolf to have fought plenty of vampires. She must have been incredibly strong.
Still tense, he sat down beside Val, his arm touching hers and shocking him for a second before he leaned away and listened to the woman.
He wasn't easily tricked and so he still had his suspicion about her, but he relaxed a tiny bit.
"he did" Min says with a nod, deciding to hold back a comment along with many others during the time she talked.
About to ask why she came here, though remembering the fact that Vals her granddaughter and she probably just wanted to see her.
(sorry he's not saying much. I don't really know anything he would say other than stay quite for this post in order to actually stay in his character. If that makes sense)
(No it’s ok! I get it! I’ll try and make this bit short so he can say more)
Val glanced over when Min brushed her arm but made no comment, not really bother by his touch.
“I assume you’re not going to the meeting,” Zilia concluded, nodding to Val with a small smirk
She shook her head and fiddled with her dress “you know I hate these things Zizi,”
I know pup, but you know your brother, he means well. At least make an appearance and then come back here.” She reassured.
Val smiled softly, and nodded “later then.”
Zilia nodded once and focused on Min “I’m surprised Min-Hyuk that you haven’t come out with a smart mouthed comment. I’m not a fragile old thing, I can take some hostility. What’s on your mind, young one?”
He wondered if she wasn't going to the meeting why she was dressed up like that, but he didn't bother to ask. Nor did he bother to say anything.
Turning his gaze back to the woman with a more startled look, he cocked his eyebrow up.
"how do you know I would have?" he asked suspicious of her words. Though the thought of Val popped into his head. Did she say something about it?
No way was he going to tell her what was on his mind. Not to Vals grandmother. Anyone else he totally would have though
“Please, the moment I saw you, you’ve been holding in a comment or two. “ she smiled softly, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Zilia shrugged “fine, keep your comments.” She laughed softly and stood “I’ll see you later Val, and please at least show up.” She hugged her and pressed a kiss to Val’s head.
“I’m sure I’ll see you more as well Min. Nice to meet you.” She have a small bow and swiftly shifted into a wolf, bowing her head at the two and stalking off.
He let out a sigh when she said he could keep his comments to himself. Because if she’s was going pry any more he would have said exactly what was on his mind and it wouldnt have been very nice in the least.
Standing when she walked away, Min turned to Val. “Well it’s getting darker anyway. I should probably leave” he says looking away awkwardly.
Not knowing what else to say, he shuffled his feet in place as he looked down at them. “I hope you have fun though. I don’t know anything about these things though” Min shrugged awkwardly, running his hands through his hair, moving it out of the way of his eye that was usually covered. More of a red tint came through his iris as he moved it. The small beauty mark below his eye was noticeable as it’s always been, though he hated it with a burning passion.
She glanced up at him when he moved and nodded slightly, bringing her knees to her chest. “I won’t stay long enough to enjoy whatever they do, not do I really care to find out.” She looked away, her eyes a bright amber, the heavy black eye liner only enunciating that color.
“Thanks for coming, and for not go off at my grandma.” She offered a small smile though it faded quickly when she lowered her head again. “You can avoid the wolves if you go back to the river and follow it downstream. You’ll end up at a crossroad. Take the south road and you should end up back in town.” She explained softly. She shifted and stood, shaking out her fur before walking up to Min and nudging his hand with her nose, her eyes shutting in content. Walking back to the rock that had her things, she curled up in a ball and gazed out onto the lake, her black and russet fur glowing slightly in the waning sunlight
