“Yeah, it got a bit worse, but it lowered a bit. Its not as much, so now i just get….” he paused. He didnt want to sound scary to her or anything. “My moods can just change quicker than a normal persons. If that makes sense” he says with a sigh, cringing at him self. Man, he sucked at explaining things.
“Its fine, i know you wont anymore. I just really dont like attention. I could never be famous. Man, i would die.. anyway” he shook himself from getting too distracted. “I didnt want to take any chances of getting attention drawn to me.”
He came to another slow stop closer to the woods near a closed gas station. It was almost pitch dark but both of them could see eachother just fine.
“Yeah, hes a gardener. Since plants live so long i guess? I dont know. But yeah, hes really sweet. Cass was his name? I cant remember” he shrugged as he slid off of the motorcycle and offered his hand to help her off.
“Can it be triggered by something? …or someone?” She asked cautiously, not wanting pry but also not wanting to make a mistake later on by upsetting him.
“Believe me, the last thing I want is attention drawn to me.”
Val carefully took his hand and pulled herself off the bike, keeping her hand in his for an awkwardly long moment before gently letting go with a thankful nod and adjusting her bag.
“He sounds to me like Carlisle.” She teased lightly, a smile spreading on her lips.
“Has done things in his past but now has had time to recollect and live his life happily.”
“Traumatic things sure. Well not the bipolar. Thats just me living my life. Severe panic attacks can lead to schizophrenic episodes and its kind of crazy for me, but it doesn’t hurt anyone around me. Its just” he paused “scary. If that makes sense” he felt so weak saying something was scary. Like a little kid. Especially in front of a girl. But he tried not to let that get in his way.
Her hand in his felt nice, as he held onto it for a little while longer too until she slid it out from his. His cold hand dropped down to his side with a sigh. Hopefully she wouldnt have his scent on her too much.
“Actually, in the 1800s he says he was a duke. He killed his wife and had to watch all of his loved ones die. Man am i not looking forward to that. Anyway, hes sweet though. He’s strong so dont let his sweetness fool you if you ever meet him” he laughed a little bit. (Cassius is his actual name. Hes my legitimate vampire character. I love him ^3^)
Min turned his eyes towards the forest, still feeling the warmth of her hand in his. “So um….i guess ill see you tomorrow then?” He asked awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck, letting his hair fall over his forehead a little. He didnt really know what to say at the moment.
“I- had fun though. Thanks” he mumbled
(Aw! That’s cute!)
“Sure, if my brother doesn’t ground me for the week.” She laughed softly at his awkward stance, never thinking that a vampire could get that adorably flustered. She desperately wanted to brush aside the hair hat had fallen into his eyes but knew he probably wouldn’t appreciate that much.
“I’m the one who should be thanking you, you’re the one who let me come along.” She said, now looking at the ground instead of his form.
She offered one last smile before heading over to the tree line that lead to the forest. A few feet away from Min, she turned and looked at him. “If you do ever want to hunt in the forest, there’s this small river on the south tide of the territory. It’s relatively safe around mid day and should be full of pray. Just don’t kill any of us.” She winked and slowly shifted into a wolf, fully disappearing into the woods
(if she did touch his hair he would become so flustered it'd be absolutely ridiculous! XD)
A small smile grew on his face when she saying her last words, but he tried to contain it.
"oh-okay" he says before watching her to, not wanting to just yet. Taken aback by the wink, he only laughed at it a little before watching her leave.
Once she was out of his few he hopped on his motorcycle and drove off, keeping his helmet off and letting the nights air brush along his skin and ruffle through his clothes and hair.
Soon after a bit if happy riding he pulled up at his house and waited there for a few seconds and his smile immediately dropped to the sound of his step father yelling and a glass shattering.
Looking down to his hands with a sigh, he stepped inside and braced himself for absolute chaos.
There was no way he would have let her come at this time of day. Right after schools a good time because he's out with his other friends. But now? Never.
(Do we wanna skip or do you have something to post before they go back to school? I can do the skip if you want though. If you’re too busy or somethin)
(I’ll post something androgen skip and have them go back to school)
Val flinched when her brother raised his voice once again, usually the tone was saved for when he was upset with the pack or when she’s had annoyed him to the point of consequence.
“Do you know how worried I was when you didn’t come home?! What thoughts ran through my mind when you weren’t home? I’m not even upset that you left after being told to go home. No, I’m upset that you left with that thing, that you actually decided to be around him. What if he planned to kill you? What if he brought you somewhere and didn’t bring you back?”
She hated herself in the moment, for hurting her brother like that, knowing what he had to go through. She hated him for thinking her as defenseless and naive. She hated him for being right. “Chire I…”
“You what? Thought you could fight one off? Thought you were being a witty teenager? You know what happened to mom. Or do I need to remind you?”
She shook her head, tears slowly making their way down her cheeks as memories of their mother’s torn up body found near an oak tree, a pale man with fangs draining the blood from her lifeless body flooded her mind.
Chire crouched down and took her hands, hi she voice softening as he spoke “I’m sorry, but you need to understand Val, I don’t want what happened to mom happen to you. I’m not willing to take that chance with Min, even if he seems alright to you.” She fell into his arms, sobbing hard, staining his shirt with her tears. After a moment he started crying too, clutching her close until they both calmed down.
“He’s not like the ones that killed mom, he has a family, a sister, a mother. He’s been through things like we had.”
Chire sighed softly”I hope you’re right.” He kissed her head and lead her to the small library they had. Val shifted and curled up close to Chire as he pulled out a book to read. “It’s not myself life, no matter how much I want you to be understand my vigilance, you’re your own wolf Val. But if he hurts you…or any of his kind hurt you, I swear there will be no one left alive to tell the tale of the vampire. You’re to come straight home after school until I say it’s safe, got it?”
Val looked up and nodded, wondering if Chire could get any more pissed off of Sheba told him where she told Min he could hunt.
(AHHHH MY HEART TT^TT)
The next day Min-Hyuk hadn't slept at all. Like usual, but this time he was too busy worrying. Overthinking everything and anything he could. Was she okay? Did she get hack safely? Her brother was probably livid when she came back. Especially with the fact that she was with him.
Maybe if he would just not associate himself with her she wouldn't be in trouble or anything. Her pack could live in peace and so could he. Go back to living his normal quiet, lonely, miserable life with nobody else to understand.
No, he wasn't going to throw a party party. He was going to suck it up and go to school.
And that's what he did
(Aahhh XD)
Surprisingly, Chire had let Val go to school the next day, of course with the clear statement that he’d go to school and tear Min to pieces if she’s didn’t come home safely afterwards. Val smiled softly as she walked through the woods, knowing her brother would t really hurt Min. Most likely yell but not physically harm. She ducked out of the cover of the woods and made her way through the small town.
Having put the contacts in already at home, she didn’t need to stop by the bathroom to put them.
Making her way to the room, she passed a few girls that reeked of perfume and fake maturity burn made no effort to stop. Reaching the chemistry room and settling down next to the vampire with a salute and a small smile
He rode his motorcycle to school, finding himself daydreaming about yesterday night.
Though shaking the thoughts so he wouldnt blush and pushing the thought of the girl to the back of his mind, as there was a high chance he would never see her again. There was no way Chire would have let her go back to school with him here…. right?
Well the last thing he expected to see was the adorable girl in front of him, snapping him out of his thoughts at the chemistry desk. He looked up at her with wide eyes for a second, doing a double take.
A small smile broke through his lips that he couldn’t really contain. But it was obvious he was trying not to smile. Though he was happy!
“H-hey” he says hesitantly turning to her.
She laughed lightly and nodded "don't act so sad to see me, you could at least look a little more discouraged," she teased, pulling out her notebook as the teacher took attendance. "Just fore warning you, my brother might burst into the room, if he does, i suggest you use that heightened speed of yours to get the hell out of dodge if you know what I mean." she smirked and pulled out a pencil and pen, lightly tapping the desk as she waited for class to begin. She glanced over at Min and arched an eyebrow "you good over there Eddy? You seem shocked to see me."
He chuckled a little at her first comment, though not saying anything.
Waiting till the teacher took attendance to talk. He needed to think everything through all over again. He had just spent the whole night thinking of how he was going to life knowing there were werewolves that hated his guts in his hunting grounds, which were apparently theirs. Yeah, he was pretty pissed when he found that out.
“Oh I’m fine” he waved it off, doodling on the side of his notes. A small dog. He purposely hid it though.
“I just thought you weren’t going to come back…” he mumbled.
(If you dont like the title, i can change it. I just couldn’t stand it being like that lol)
(I love it! keep it!)
She smiled faintly and nodded "yeah..me neither. Thought my brother was going to ground me for life." she chuckled softly and shook her head. "You sure you're okay? I'm sensing some slight discomfort." She looked over at him, about to ask him what really was going on and maybe threaten him harmlessly if he didn't tell the truth but the teacher had called for attention and was now beginning the class. She sighed through her nose in slight annoyance before returning her attention to the front of the class
He gave her a weak thumbs up. "well I didn't sleep at all last night without even a nap, so that might be why." he shrugged before she turned her attention back to the class. He sighed and looked up to the ceiling, already bored before tapping her shoulder. "I'm happy to see you though" he says leaning on the desk with a smile, his arm squishing his cheek a little as they rested on his arm, looking up at her with his mirror like eyes.
They were a little droopy today as he was extremely stressed out yesterday. Not just because of worrying about her. No, Nathan was a bitch. And Min-Hyuk had finally had enough.
No, he didnt kill him but he did beat the hell outta him. The next morning he simply spat in his face.
His moms staying with a friend of theirs until Nathan gets his act together and Min had to keep his little sister away from him. Especially that night. Though just like every night.
But he wasnt about to say that to her. Nor was he going to tell her that he was up worrying about her. No way
“You sleep?” She ducked her head in slight embarrassment, only now realizing just how limited her knowledge really was. She blushed slightly when Min told her he was glad to see her. “you? Happy to see a dog? Wow, Aren’t you full of surprises.” She laughed softly and rested her head on her hand and looked up at the teacher as they started writing notes on the board. The margin of her notebook filled with moon phases, stopping at the full moon. She frowned slightly at the picture and turned to anew page as the notes continue. She caught Min staring and tilted her head “I’m real Min, you don’t have to stare.” She teased lightly
"I can be happy to see whomever I want you dog" he says playfully, rolling his eyes. "I'm not staring. Just looking while I talk to you." he says turning back and looking away. "and yes, I do sleep. I can't sleep for more than about an hour or two though. It's complicated. Well not actually, there's a simple explanation but id rather not say it here. You've got a lot to learn though" he smiled, taking in a hushed tone, scribbling out his dog drawing deciding he messed up and so it's all ruined.
“Ah I see.” She tapped her pencil on the notebook and bounced her leg. After the notes were over, the students were given a chance to do their own studying or to work on anything they had for other classes. Since Val had only started that week, she didn’t have much to do. She pulled out her chorus book of songs and plugged in headphones, determined to learn the song early. They had unanimously chosen a rock song with some darker melodies that Val likes white a bit. She’s turned up the volume to drown out the sounds around her and shut her eyes as she concentrated on the song. Of course they had altered the song a bit to fit school codes. The original was called The Drug In Me is You but the had altered the title to say ‘love’ instead of ‘drug.’ They had also replaced all the swears. She thought it made the song lose its desperation and feeling but she’s was fine as long as they were allowed to sing it.
(The drug in me is reimagined- falling in reverse)
(I'll have to check it out!)
During the study break Min leaned forward and simply stared out the window. Fog swirling around the bushes and trees outside as a small cat ran across the schools newly cut grass. This was one of his favorite types of weather for sure. If it rained he would be so happy.
It's been like this for the past week now. Min-Hyuk along with most of the town says there's going to be a pretty bad storm that's going to come over the small town of Coffeeville.
Watching the leaves in the trees rustle in the wind, it was mesmerizing for sure. Soon enough though he turned back to glance at Val only to see her drowned away in her music. He had hoped to talk to her, but he guessed it could wait. So he turned back to the window, drawing something on it with his finger as if it was a frosty window of a car door.
(Coffeeville….yuuuusss)
When the song was finished, Val put her music book away as well as her phone and headphones and pulled out a book from home, hoping to finish the last bit before class ended. She glanced over at Min and tilted her head at the drawing on the window. Curious as to what the outcome of the drawing would be, she set her book down and watched in silence, head resting in her arms as she watched the weather outside. Finally, some rain would come to the small town
(that's where my OG story takes place :)
The drawing had turned into a small forest scene with different shadings from the cold he's used to his advantage, making the trees and the brush seem more distant in the drawing. A dark figure in the trees next to the small river. Nothing was very detailed at all, as he was only using his fingers.
The figures appeared to be a pack of wolves. Of course that's what had been on his mind lately. He was curious as to what happened? He was sure something horrible was said about him. Maybe she said something bad about him? Was this her plan? To infiltrate his feelings and how vampires work, letting the wolves get the leverage?
He was letting the paranoia get the best of him…
He let out a sigh and quickly scribbled it out with one hand before going to the next little spot and drawing a simple smiley face and giving up, planting his face in his arms and thinking. Worrying.
Worrying too much to notice the girl looking right at him.
Val was going to start up a conversation, something about about how detailed his drawing was or drawing in general. She was never any good, preferring written arts instead of pictures. At the last second she thought against it, thinking he probably didn’t want to talk if he was drawing on the window. She wasn’t even sure if they were friends now. Sure they had spent time together yesterday which she had to admit was magical to her to say the least. The moment they shared under the lake was beautiful and riding on the back of his bike was exhilarating but also felt like they were the only ones in the world. Maybe he had changed his mind about things, maybe he didn’t want to associate himself with her in fear of safety for himself and his sister. She wouldn’t let anyone hurt them, Chire wouldn’t either if he got to know them. She finally looked away to give him the space he needed and doodled in her notebook, trying to replicate the scene he had erased
He felt her eyes on him as he thought. Overthinking was one of the things Min-Hyuk did best.
He had felt a connection with her yesterday. Under the lake, in the trees. On the back of his motorcycle, her arms wrapped around him and her warm body pressed against him. He felt as if he were protecting her. He didn't know what from though.
Finally deciding to grow a pair, he couldn't stand it anymore.
He stood and looked at her suddenly, grabbing her hand and leading her out of the classroom not minding the teacher at the desk suddenly shook by what had happened.
Once around the corner her turned to her, accidently pushing her against the wall, his other arm on one side. "what's happening?" he asked determined to get an answer.
Val look up at Min, concern clouding her features. She looked apologetically at the teacher before jogging after Min. She let out a small help when she was pressed against the wall, eyes widening when Min trapped her in place with his arm.
“W-What do you mean what’s happening? I think you just took me from class without permission.” She looked up at Min, seeing the same troubled look reflected in his own eyes.
“Min, just calm down for a second and tell me what’s going on. And why you couldn’t wait until after school to tell me whatever this is.” She waved a hand to him but didn’t push him away, in fact, she kind of wished he was closer. Shaking the thought from her mind, she relaxed slightly and looked him over, wanting to dispel whatever had gotten him so riled up
He looked down to the ground, eyebrows stitched together in confusion and frustration before looking back up at her. "yeah… Okay I did to that" he says letting go of her hand. "between us… What's happening? Do you hate me, are we friends, are we enemies? You're not manipulating me are you?" he asked, getting closer to her with every word. Trust issues and his paranoia didn't really work well with Min. More against him than anything. Not allowing him to Have any relationships with anyone. And now he was just confused and wanted the answer.
Was she trying to get close to him and his weaknesses?
"I hadnt been happy in such a long time. What the hell did you do to me?"
