He smiled sweetly at her adorable enthusiasm but refused to go anyway. He wasn't easily persuaded. His mother always said "my boys the most stubborn one yet!" with a bride smile as she ruffled his black hair and squeezed bus chubby lil cheeks. Around the time when his father left with a glare in his eyes at the young boy. His father never liked him even though Min-Hyuk looked up to him with all of his heart. That's probably where all of his trust issues and rejection came from in the first place. His dad was killed by a woman's fiance who he was having an affair with. It's a long story and it stressed him out to think about it.
So turning around, he snuck out the school and went for a smoke.
Sitting up in a tall tree behind the school the smoke from his cigarette floated up in the air as his dull eyes followed it. The hint of red in them was more apparent now.
Finding himself missing Val already, he smiled at the thought. The feeling of her in his arms as they listened to love songs together, skipping class right outside of the hall. Just thinking about it made his face turned red and he buried it in his knees that were pulled up to His chest with a stupid cute smile.
a few minutes before class ended, Val was called back to the room with the teacher again.
“I just wanted to go over the song with you again, just to make sure you’re all caught up with the rest off the class.” She reassures with a warm smile
Val nodded and started to sing the song they hadn’t been assigned
“I heard a knock upon my door the other day…
I opened it to find death staring in my face
The feel of mortal stalking still reverberates
Everywhere I go, I drag this coffin just in case~”
(Oooh What if that’s a struggle they go through? Val having a problem with Min’s smoking?)
(I like it!)
Flicking the ash at the tip off with his pale hands as his cold lungs filled with smoke, warming his chest. Making him feel almost human again. Man, what he would do to be human. Actually having the risk of dying when you so much as jump off of a building. Yeah, it slowly ate away at his lungs, but that was the point. He found a way to die finally. Though it's alot slower process than normal humans as vampires can heal a little quicker.
He let out a big huff of smoke and sucking in another. Feeling the pain in his chest along with the warmth soothed him.
Why couldn't he just die already.
(he's so frikin emo man)
(He’s an adorable emo baby!)
After being let out of the room, Val headed outside for some fresh air before her last class.
The moment she stepped outside, she growled lowely at the smell of smoke that wafted from around the corner. what were these teenagers thinking?! Killing themselves slowly over an addiction?! she’d never understand why someone would die over something so simple. Rounding the corner to face the addict, she glanced up in surprise to see Min in the tree.
“MIn?! You smoke?” She said in slight horror, not wanting to judge but not being able to believe what she saw
(AH THANK YOU)
He was suddenly shaken from his deep thoughts to almost lose his balance, falling but catching himself on another lower branch.
Turning to Val, happy to see her a small smile appeared on his face which quickly disappeared when he registered her tone, what she said and her facial expressions.
"yeah?" he says dangling his feet over the branch, blowing smoke out of his mouth and some through his nose. It always burned a little when he did it, but he was such a masochist, so he liked it. Feeling pain anyway he could.. It was more like an addiction than anything. Medication didn't help as he tried to overdose on those a couple times.
Flicking more ash off and twirling it between his fingers, his tired yet somehow bright eyes looked down at her, tilting his head like a puppy.
"sorry do you not like the smell of smoke? I can put it out if you want" he says inhaling even more.
Val set her bag down and crossed her arms over her chest “tell me Mi-Hyuk, tell me that you’re not so stupid as to kill yourself with those things. You of all people should know how precious a life’s is, so why in Hell would you do this to yourself?!”
She uncrossed her arms and clutched them at her side, wanting to both strangle Min for being an idiot and also throw the cigarette far, far away.
Glaring away from the vampire, she shut her eyes before taking a choking breath and shaking her head “I don’t have time for this,” she whispered to herself, fully turning away and grabbing her backpack “do what you want, someone will care when you die of those things.”
She took off running away from the school building, away from the smoke and away from Min to where she’s knew she’d be safe.
He felt more and more empty as she spoke as he knew it wasn't true. He's only known her for one day. She wasn't in any place to care that much about him.
Though when he watched her emotions rise and she ran away he cursed himself under his breath before jumping down and following her, stomping out the cigarette and pushing the pack in his back pocket. Quickly catching up to her, he grabbed her wrist and turned her around. "hey, what the hell?" he says confused, though taking a deep breath. "who are you to know who will care and who won't huh?"
She whirled around and faced him, mere centimeters from his face. “Me? Nobody. But I do know if you keep feeding your addiction you’re going die…again and you’ll leave people who do genuinely care about you.”she’s pulled her hand free from his hold and backed away. “What would your family say about this? Your friends? They’d tell you the same. They wouldn’t want to see you die this slow and painful of a death, not if they’d truest cared, Min.” She said, voice calming down a bit and softening.
“I’m in no position to tell you what to do with your life. If you want to continue, go right ahead, but know you’ll be leaving behind friends and family when you die of lung cancer, or something worse.” She turned away and started walking him again, putting in headphones and wrapping her arms around herself as if they could offer some comfort
"tch" he glared down hard at the ground before looking back at her. "everyone's scared of me. I've been trying my hardest to kill myself in honestly any way possible and this is the only way I've found that works. Nobody will care. Everyone's fake. Even my family. Have of the time my own mother doesn't even recognize me" his eyes glazed over with tears when he mentioned it. "my only friend is too involved in my sister to care, and she's terrified of me. They'll be glad I'm gone." he growled "don't get all emotional about it. It has nothing to do with you" he says turning and storming away angrily after wiping a small tear away, hoping she didnt see the angry drop fall from his face.
Val looked over her shoulder as he walked away. “If It has nothing to do with me, then why do I care so much what happens to you? If no one truest does care then let me be the first.”
Walking off once more, she found her way back to the forest and shifted to her wolf, starting to trot along, in no hurry to get home and get ready for the meeting in a few hours. Instead, she went back to the lake and hung around the area a bit
Still behind the school and a good distance away from it he hid from himself in the forest.
Her words stung him in the chest hard. He didn't understand why she cared. What did he do for her to make her care for him? He had to have… Right?
Trying to blink away the tears as it blurred his whole vision while he walked aimlessly, not caring where he went. Failing to get rid of then, they fell down his pale cheeks as he slid down beside a tree. He could hear the water of the river running close by, but his mind drowned it out and he totally ignored it.
The light fluttered in through a gap in the leaves shining on a small portion of his face as the tears running down shined like a single crystal, leaving a light streak of what might have looked like glitter on his cheek.
Choking in a small sob(and failing) ,he pulled his legs up to his chest as he thought about everything he said. Thinking about what she said.
Trying his very best to hold it in, he couldn't. Telling himself not to cry. You're weak and a monster. You won't amount to anything and everyone's scared of you.
Do you really think someone would care for you? Nobody in their right mind would even think about it. That's why you're alone and that's why you always will be.
“Thought I told you not to come here.” Chire said from behind Min, having padded up and shifted silently. The Alpha wolf crossed his arms over his chest and tilted his head, Amber eyes shining in the light. “If you came here looking for Val, she’s at the lake.” He wrinkled his nose at Min’s smell and took a step back “though I think she already found you huh? And she told you a thing or two about smoking?” He chuckled and shook his head “she had that effect on people, getting out every and any emotion she’s can while still meaning every word she says.”
He settled a few feet away from Min, wanting to give him space in case he wanted to leave
“It surprises me as much as it probably does you, on the amount of how much she cares about you, despite only knowing you for a day and a few hours. Don’t worry, it’s a wolf thing. We get attached to others that we meet. Not all the He time but to some. You drive her, you anger and annoy her. You intrigue her. You go against what she knows, especially since all she knows are her pack member.”
He explained calmly, running his hand through his dark hair
He glared at Chire, no signs of him actually crying (haha wuss(i love my characters I swear XD). He's always been good at it.
Lowering his legs from his chest, he didn't get up and leave as he wanted to do. But instead he listened to what he had to say, letting out a small chuckle as he talked about his sister. It's a wolf thing Huh? "how odd" he thought to himself.
"what makes me so different from everyone else? I don't think it's the vampire part because she hated my guts at first" he says rolling his eyes,
standing and leaning against the tree with his arms crossed. That's why she cares. Because it's what her species does. Not him. Just because he's different and that intrigues her… That's why?
"and I didn't come to find her. Nor do I care where she is." he shrugged, turning his piercing cold gaze back to the dog, raising his eyebrow as he looked him up and down fighting the urge to insult him as that was something that came naturally to Mim-Hyuks vocabulary
(Oh my god show your emotions child!)
Chire shook his head, holding the young vampires gaze easily with own sharp glare. “You don’t get it do you? She didn’t hate you, she hated what you represented, what your kind did to our family. I don’t blame her. But she’s managed to look past our past with vampires and what you are and has come to care for you. Don’t take that lightly Min. And don’t you dare take it for granted.”
Shire smirked and gazed out onto the river “if you don’t care then why’d you come to the forest of all places to sulk? You know the danger, you know the risk. Yet you’re here.”
(he shows his feelings through actions. He's never been good with words unless they're mean words XD)
Clenching his jaw in annoyance, he looked up to the leaves of the tree. The wind rustling through his hair, filling his cold lungs before he looked back down at him.
"don't worry I wont" he says with a sigh, burying his pale hands in his pockets.
"I'm not scared of anything in this forest. You out of all people should damn well know that. I'll come and go in this forest as I please." he growled
“That’s what you think. And no, you may not be afraid. I’m fine with that. But if you hurt my sister…if you do anything to cause her any soft pain. You’ll wish to be oceans away from this forest.” Chire’s eyes got dangerously dark, his voice deepening to a deep growl as his wolf showed through more than his human side.
He stood and stretched “I’d advise you get out of here before moonrise vampire. More wolves will be here than normal and they’re not as merciful as me or Val. They’d tear you to part in a second. And believe me. You don’t want to fight any of them.”
"trust me, I don't want to hurt her. That's the last thing I would ever want to do" he shrugs seemingly taking his words as a grain of salt. But it was obvious he didn't.
"I wasn't planning on staying here anyway" he says pushing himself off of the tree carelessly and unloaded by his threat. "you can have your play area your yourselves. Just don't come near me or my family and you'll be fine" he says turning away. "I would like to talk to Val soon. If that's okay with you that is" he asks trying to be as polite as possible though sounding more mean and condecending than anything.
(PROGRESS)
(YUS!)
“I should say the same thing about you and my family.” He leaned back against a tree, half his figure covered by shadows. “Thought you didn’t care where she wAs?” He smirked and crossed his arms over his chest. “I’m serious about getting out of here by moonrise. The other alphas aren’t as merciful as I am with your kind.”
Val had ran back home looking for Chire. When she couldn’t find him, she changed for the night, a teal blue dress with black accents. It fit snuggly around her top and flared out at the waist. She paired it with black knee high boots and let her hair fall in waves. She wore little to no makeup, only rimming her eyes with black eyeliner to make the amber stand out more. At this point she looked like Alice from Alice’s adventures in wonderland. Perfect, just look she was going for. she trotted around the forest A bit before heading back to lake and studying her notes from class, perched up on rocks near the lake bed
"as you've said" he rolled his eyes.
"you don't have to say it twice. I'll be out of here soon" Sighing, Min-Hyuk pushed himself off panther tree and returned an annoyed look. "I'll ask you again only one more time okay?" he says obviously a bit aggravated. He never liked being nagged.
"now I'll get out, but I need to talk to Val first. Can I do that without you coming at my throat or what?" he raised an eyebrow.
(sorry it's short)
(also fun random fact: Mins a sucker for cute girls in a dress or a skirt. No he's not a pervert, he just thinks they look really nice and adorable)
(Aw!)
Chire sighed and nodded “go ahead. She should be ready for tonight and hanging out at the lake.” He said, shifting and walking off to the forest.
Once done with her school work, Val started to play music without the headphones in, just loud enough to be hear from the lake. She jumped down from the rock, landing in a crouch with on hand on the ground to stabilize herself. She stood slowly and walked around the perimeter of the lake, listening to the music on her phone.
“i’ve lost my goddamn mind, it happens all the time~” she sang along, tilting her head up to the sky
With his permission, he let out a small smile of triumph for whatever reason. He would have done it anyway. But he was trying his hardest to be polite.
"man they stink" he says rolling his eyes as he made his way over to the river. Perking up a small bit when he heard some familiar music.
Passing a tree he could have sworn he saw an angel and he was getting dragged down to hell before he even died. Because there was no way he was going to go to heaven.
Upon further inspection, he stopped in his tracks only to realize it was Val.
"holy shit" he says under his breath as he stayed as quiet as a mouse, watching the sight. Her dress, her hair, her face, her movements and her voice. Oh man oh man he fell hard and hit his face on the rocks. Now you may think I meant figuratively, which yes I did. But also… He did fall.
As he stepped forward into the small clearing along the bank he tripped on what appeared to be nothing and face planted in the gravel and leaves. "ow~" he whined quietly, not leaving his spot. He's decided this was where he dies.
take me now. It'll be better than the embarrassment I'll have to go through in a second
(he's too starstrucken to see where he was going :3)
(Aw my gawd this baby!!!!)
Val spun around quickly upon hearing the thud if a fall. Mid-spin she shifted and crouched down, ready to attack anything that moved. Teeth bared and with a low growl, she scanned the area for danger. She knew a few of the Beta’s loved to play their sick games with her, taunting and teasing, all usually going going uncomfortably overboard. To hell with formalities, it was the last time any of them would dare tease her in her own home. She stood and stalked closer to where she heard the fall, surprised to see that it wasn’t another wolf but a boy. A very familiar one. Rolling her eyes and releasing a breath through her nose, Val nudged his head and shoulder, occasionally breathing in his scent. Backing up to let him get up, Val sat down with her tail neatly across her paws, waiting patiently and very much amused.
(Agh, he’s a clutz)
Burying his head in his arms for a few seconds before sitting up, his eyes still closed as he tried to keep his composure. Guess he wasnt going to hell today. Dammit.
Letting out a breath, trying not to turn away and hide from his complete and utter embarrassment, he stood and looked at the wolf. “You didnt see anything” he says stubbornly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Just….ignore that. I came here to talk to you, so can you um” he gestured to her….body hoping she would get the memo and shift back.
(Sorry its short)
(It’s all good!)
Val arched an eyebrow before rolling her eyes and back up a bit more to shift. When back to normal she crossed her arms over her chest and looked at Min.
“Oh you’re not going to stop hearing about this until the end of the year.” She teased, a rueful smirk crossing her features. She walked off towards the lake again “what do you need to talk about?” She asked over her shoulder, throwing her phone in the bag and sitting down on the rocks, legs dangling over the edge. “Chire let you through I’m assuming? You smell like him, surprised he didn’t mistake you as food.”
