She looked away, not being able to meet his intense gaze. “I-I don't know, to be honest. I don’t hate you and I don’t want us to be enemies.” She glanced up when she mentioned manipulation and smirked “you know as much about lycanthropes as I know about vampires. No wolf on earth can manipulate anyone. That’s not how this worlds works and you know that. I wouldn’t if I could anyways.” Her breath hitches slightly as he got closer but she’s kept eye contact with him. “I didn’t do anything to you, nothing that would manipulate you or your thinking. Nothing that would draw you to me or push you away. Yes, wolves do form bonds with their mates that’s stronger than mortal love but I doubt we’re close to that stage.” She teased, but it’s was halfhearted.
“I swear to you that I’m not doing anything to influence your internal dilemma, other than exist but I don’t think I’m changing that.”
He swore to himself he wasn't falling. Kept on telling himself over and over again. But she. She mentioned love stronger than mortals he froze before looking away. No, he wouldn't. He won't allow himself to. Not with a dog.
"I'm sorry I just" he paused. He didn't want to make it sound like he was making excuses just because of his "mental illnesses". That's just the way his mind worked. Trust issues galore. Going to every worse conclusion not even thinking of that fact that anyone would actually want to be his friend.
He bit his lip in thought as he looked away, his finger tapping on the wall where he held her.
"I don't get it" he mumbled, not meaning for her to hear.
Letting out a sigh of frustration his eyes met hers. "so what's going to happen? Are you going to leave or-or continue talking to me? I just need to know so I don't get hurt again. Okay?" he asked. Not really meaning to say that "hurt again" part. Just slipping out but he didn't take it back. It was obvious without those words that he's been hurt by people coming and going.
Her brow knitted in sadness and concern. “Again?” She whispered, not knowing if he’d want share or if he was talking To himself.
She scanned the ground, trying to decipher his words. “I-I don’t plan on leaving. Sure I might not come on some days because of personal reasons but I believe you can get those excuses. As for talking to you, uhm, I don’t plan on stopping unless you don’t want to talk to me anymore then I understand because we’re sworn enemies but that doesn’t have to dictate what we do, right?”
She glanced up at Min, a light flush on her cheeks as she rambled on, hoping he wouldn’t leave her.
“I’m not leaving you Min.” She promised, perhaps a bit bold of her to say but she meant it. “Not unless you want me to go.”
He let out a sigh. Maybe of relief, irritation, or confusion. It was hard to tell.
Not able to look her in the eyes as she talked, simply listening to what she was saying. Sworn enemies? Vampires are basically sworn enemies to anything and everything. Even to other vampires usually.
Thats why they’ve lived a long lonely life. All of them do unless they’ve become weak and grouped with other vampires to rely on. He's gone his whole time as a vampire thinking and believing that he had to do this and go through with this living hell all alone. Why did he have to?
And why did he have to hate the werewolves? He's done nothing to them. Though they've done plenty to him, he's gotten his revenge. He didn't need to do anything more to them.
By Her last comment, he looked back to her with his eyes filled with something genuine.
“I dont want you to” he whispered leaned his head on her shoulder and taking a breath in then out as if he’d been holding his breath. His hair smelling the hint of lavender of all things he could smell like.
(Awww!)
Val noticeably stiffened when he leaned on her shoulder, her breath coming in thin. She rested her hands on his shoulder, ready to gently push him away. Yet, something inside her told her something else. She slowly wrapped her arms around his neck, letting him pull away if he wanted to before tangling her hands into his hair, leaning into him slightly. She calmed her breathing and rested her head on his, breathing his scent in, surprisingly sweet. She closed her momentarily, her mind suddenly flooding with thoughts of her mother again. Her heartbeat raced, her hands tightened slightly, her voice soft and broken as she spoke. “I’m not afraid of you…I just not have good experiences with vampires…” she took a deep breath and buried her nose in Min’s hair. “Don’t bite me, k? I like being a wolf.”
Now if Min weren't in this weak position or in this circumstance, he would say "kinky" right about now just to the a smart-ass.
But that didn't even cross his hollow mind at the moment. His cold breath on her neck stopped for a second when she moved closer, her hands in his hair and leaning on him. His arm dropped from the side of her to wrap around her waist. Not pulling her into him. But just resting there. "I won't bite you. I promise" he mumbled with a small smile at her comment. He would much rather be a wolf than this monster he is right now. So he didn't blame her.
He didn't say anything else. He just needed the warmth of her to comfort him.
(okay but like… This is cute XD)
(I love their development in the relationship! And YUS CERY CUTE!)
She breathed a sigh of relief and gently stroked his hair, watching as the strands fell from her hand back to his head. She nuzzled deeper, liking the feeling of his fluffy hair against her cheek as well as the smell of him. Jumping slightly when his hand cane to rest his hand on her waist, she smiled softly “I’m short I know.” She laughed softly and played with hair at the naps of his neck. “Ready to go back inside or do you think we’ll get in trouble for staying out here a bit longer?”
He was afraid she could feel his heart pounding on his chest, as he could hear it pounding in his ears. Letting of a quiet chuckle at her comment when he rested his hands on her waist, he smiled a bit, though his face still nuzzled in her neck. "I know. It's cute" he says gently. He wasn't trying to compliment her or anything, as he didn't do that often. But he was just telling the truth.
He absolutely loved how she ran her fingers through his soft fluff of hair, making him almost weak.
"we can go if you want to" he says staying where he is, though his arms around her waist tightening the smallest bit subconsciously. He didn't want to leave just yet.
(I know! I love the slower speed it's going at but then the connection they have.)
(EEEEEeEEHHHHHH)
"It's not cute, it's inconvenience." she argued, glad her reddening face was hidden from his view.
She shivered slightly as she felt his breath on her shoulder. "S-so I assume we're not going anywhere." she nodded to her self. She smiled softly and gently nudged him off her shoulder. "wait here for a second. I'll be right back." She ran back into the room and grabbed her bag from her spot as well as her book that was resting on the desk. She walked up to the teacher and told her that she was outside studying with Min, the reason as to why he had dragged her out suddenly was that he didn't want to be embarrassed.
Val came back outside when the teacher told her not do it again without her permission
"Alright, I'm back." she slid down on the wall and sat with her bag in her lap.
He was a bit shaken up when she pushed him off, a bit of rejection stinging his speedily beating heart as she left. Great, now he felt bad. He probably made her uncomfortable.
By the time she came back he was mentally cursing himself out for being so stupid and emotional. He shouldn’t have to depend on her for emotional stability. But he wanted to so badly.
He forced it down, telling himself not to be weak or show it when he heard her footsteps before she turned the corner. Surprised to see her actually come back.
Sliding down to her side, he looked at her in confusion. “What’d you do?” He asked running his hands through his hair, moving it out of the way of his face. He was relieved she came back, but just in case she was uncomfortable, he didn't dare touch her again even in the slightest until she showed she was comfortable. He didn't know how he was going to tell, but it was fine. He’d figure it out hopefully.
(Though with him being so frikin dense she would have to tell him XDD)
(btw thank you so much for mentioning me in the chat! I love Rp-ing with you and I think you're an amazing writer!)
(This poor baby XD)
Val put her bag to the side and pulled out her laptop, opening a page up to the book before facing him "I told her that I was studying and couldn't concentrate in there since I'm normally used to a private home setting. When she asked about why you pulled me out here, I told her you wanted to help me study for class without causing a disturbance to the other students."
She plugged in headphones and handed one side off to Min in case he wanted to listen to music. She scooted down a bit more and leaned her head on Min's shoulder, hoping not to make him uncomfortable. She picked up the book and and start reading silently, nodding her head slightly to the instrumental that ironically was Bella's lullaby from the movie.
(Yay~ thank you :3)
He looked at her in confusion and unbelief, though with a small half smile the whole time.
Leaning his back against the wall, he instinctively tensed when she touched him, her head on his shoulder. Though he quickly relaxed, taking the other side of the headphone and setting it in his ear, leaning his head on hers as he listened to the music with her. He chuckled at the irony, trying to distract himself from his painfully obvious red face.
Min-Hyuk looked over to her book for a few seconds daring to put his arm around her shoulder. Overthinking everything, but finally doing it, settling his pounding heart down he closed his eyes and listened to the music. He wondered if she purposely did it, but he didnt mind. It was soothing and made him a little sleepy. More than he was before.
She stiffened slightly when his arm draped around her shoulders before reminding herself that if he had wanted to do anything, he would have already. Val relaxed into his hold, curling up comfortably against his side as she skimmed over the words in her book, occasionally taking notes on the computer before focussing back on the pages in front of her. She found reading to be more distracting then normal with Min beside her but pushed through the light feeling in her stomach. A native American wolf lore song came on, telling the listener how their ancestors lived within the souls of the animal, and how they chose to respect it instead of kill it. She hummed softly, following along with the low, stretched out notes the woman sung as she told the story.
He relaxed more and more as the time passed by and his pounding chest soothed to a slow beat. Closing his eyes and listening to the music. It was quite pretty he did admit, but it wasn't the type of music he listened to that was for sure. But it was embarrassing so he never told anyone what it was.
After about 2 more minutes the song ended and he decided to actually talk to her. Though getting nervous all over once again. "so um…what book are you reading?" he asked leaning his head off of hers to look down at her.
She shut the book to show him the cover, staying silent until she finished writing notes down. He handed him the laptop and pulled out the headphone "Alice in Wonderland spin off. One of my favorite series called "Splintered." I've read it so much I probably could tell you word for word what the story's about." She smiled and put a bookmark on her page, handing it off to him so he could read the description while she took back her computer. any song you want to listen to?" she asked, pulling up you tube before closing it quickly when she saw some of the thumbnails. Most were vampire lore stories and the history on vampires. She found any lore interesting but the vampire lore intrigued her, now that she had someone who was one but she wasn't going to let Min know, she wasn't ready to ask about that, not after what he had told about his own personal experience. Instead, she pulled up Spotify and waited. SHe peeked over at the book and pointed out the characters on the back "alyssa Gardner, Jebediah Holt: her love interest, and Morpheus: the better love interest and my favorite character." she explained, pointing at a girl that was stunning, she had blonde hair and deep red lips. The boy had brown waves of hair that fell from to his neck and a ruby red piercing under his lower lip. The last character, Morpheus wore a tophat and looked mysterious, his skin pale while his deep eyes and dark lips stuck out as his most prominent features. .
He looked at the book and squinted to read the description, refusing the fact that he needed glasses. Yes.. A vampire who is in need of glasses? Well his eyes simply had troubles focusing on the smaller things. Though could notice things quickly,
as the vampires reflexes. Looking over at her laptop when she asked about a song. Though quickly noticing a few of the tabs. He was about to point them out, but she moved onto another app and he didn't Know how to bring that up without it being extremely awkward.
"oh… Any music would do. I don't really care" he shrugged awkwardly.
"so I take it you like a ton of romance" he says with a small chuckle as his eyes went back to the book, desperately trying to change the subject.
“Yeah….a lot…it’s a guilty pleasure, don’t judge.” She ran her hand through her hair with a dramatic sigh. She glared at Min and pointed at the screen. “The ‘really’ is what kills it. just one song and then I’ll choose the rest. …please?” She looked up at him with big, round, pleading eyes “just one, then I won’t bother you with choosing music again.”
She took the book back when he was done and flipped through the pages lovingly.
"it's fine, I secretly like it a lot too" he admitted. He would never really admit to that, but if it would make her feel better he would. And he wasn't lying. His sister was a writer and she would have him read through all of her scripts. One of the things she writes most is romance and he loved it to be honest.
He blushed a little, but accepted her offer nonetheless.
"okay.. Um " he bit his lip and looked up to the ceiling trying to think for a bit before looking back at her. "Dandelions by Ruth B. It's probably my favorite… If I'm being..honest." he looked away a bit fiddling with his thumbs.
She smiled in surprise when he mentioned he liked romance as well, not expecting that from someone like him. She found it cute that someone that came off as isolated and dark to like something like romance.
"Never heard the song but I do know the singer. She did Lost Boy, right?" she asked, tilting her head at him as she typed in the song title and finding the song.
She put in the headphone and went still, listening carefully at the song as it played, a small smile playing at her lips as she started to nod along to it.
He smiled a bit "yeah, I think she did." he says taking the headphone and setting it in his ear lightly. He hated loud noises so he made sure not to pick a loud song. Rock n roll was basically his enemy.
He closed his eyes with a small smile, leaning on her the smallest bit. He would be surprised if she didn't notice yet.
(no seriously though, it's such a good song. Have you heard it?)
(Nope But I’ll look it up!)
She leaned into him just the tiniest bit and shut her eyes as she listened to song. “I looked it so far,” she said quietly, glancing up at Min with a smile that matched his.
She glanced up when she saw that kids were leaving their classes. She gathered her bag and put her computer and book back in. “Where are you going next?” She asked, standing and shouldering her backpack
He was rather startled when she suddenly got up. As he wasn't paying attention to their surroundings and was fully drowned in his own little world.
Standing he handed her the earbud, trying to make it so she didn't have to touch his ice cold hands. She probably hated it, so he was simply trying his best to be nice.
"well I was debating between skipping class or go to Spanish. Why we have to take that stupid class, I have no idea" he rolled his eyes with a laugh.
“You kidding me? Spanish is fun! At least how I was taught.” She took the headphone back, her hand brushing against his with a small smile. She blushed slightly and looked away from him. “Have some fun with it Min, Spanish is fun.” She called as she started towards her chorus class, giving him a salut before jogging down the hall.
Reaching her class, she got in her spot, near the back until she was comfortable enough to sing with the rest of the advanced kids. While they waited for the teacher to begin, Val’a mind wanted to her time with Min…again. We’re they friends now? Did friends get that close alone? She was close with her pack but she knew it wasn’t like that outside that group. She shrugged it off as they began the first song
