(oh! Maybe like next morning, cuz she probably just threw it on her coat rack, since shes so tired or something.)
(so, time skip to tomorrow morning?)
(oh! Maybe like next morning, cuz she probably just threw it on her coat rack, since shes so tired or something.)
(so, time skip to tomorrow morning?)
(Sure! He's still on Holiday vacation and he's still sad so yes)
(awe, poor thing :(
Her eyes fluttering open, noticing the time, which was only 6 in the morning, but still getting dressed. (im tempted to just send links of her outfits that she wears XD) And finally eating breakfast, careful not to wake her brother.
Deciding to go out on a walk, probably going to the gym, which she had just started to do to stay in shape, she goes to grab her coat and her keys, spotting…………. Mets jacket?
"oh golly! I should probably return this"
She says to herslef in a whisper, tempted to look in the pockets, and giving in.
She had found his badge, smiling at it a little bit before putting it back, she was happy that he had followed what he wanted to do with his life. Digging more in the pockets she found his wallet, which of course she wasnt going to steal anything, but just a peak.
(whats in his wallet? A picture or something?(hint hint)
She felt a hard golden badge with 'Uoi Police Detective' on it with his name stitched onto the holster and his wallet. She found a few bucks, his credit card, and his driver's license peeking out at her from the see through bit. As she peeked in a picture fell out. It was a print-off of a picture they took together on the trip to an amusement park before they split up for college. It was faded and old, but taken care of and affectionately loved.
Met fell asleep on the ground, and he was too stiff to stand again until the sun had warmed up the room a little. He stretched slowly and rubbed his puffy red eyes, feeding the cat that had come from no where.
Bending down and looking at the picture, not picking it up just yet, she just sat on the ground and stared at it.
"oh golly Metaphorical…."
She says with a smile deciding to pick it up, hair falling in her face as she reached for it.
Her hair was short at the time, which she missed greatly. They both were smiling, so happy looking.
Where did that go? Did it just disapear in the last four years?
Most defintely. It wasnt like she wanted it to anyway.
They were just parting their ways to go live their life, and now…. they were back at the starting point. BUt this time, they were past lovers. And just looking at this picture hurt.
Met was smiling into the camera he had up just a little, like a tease to her. The conversation they had was attached to the picture. Met kept putting his phone too high up, once it was a mistake and the others it was definitely intentional. But he decided picking her up was better, and that's how they ended up wrapped up in each other and grinning stupidly into the camera he had been holding. Met had really enjoyed himself with her, and it showed. He didn't want it to leave when she left him. He was heartbroken when she left.
A cold tear rolled down her still white freckled cheek, she was mad that the freckles hadn't gone away yet, putting the picture to her lips as she closed her eyes, then slipping it back into his wallet, putting it in his jacket.
She might as well take it to him. Walking out of the apartment and down the street, leaving a note for her brother, letting him know that she would either be at the park or the coffee shop, neither of them were far.
Stopping in front of the apartment building and walking in after taking a deep shaky breath, remembering the numbers he told her when they ran into eachother on Christmas eve. She decided to go out with Ryuu before he left that chirstmas eve night before he left the next morning, leaving her all alone, visiting her mother every now and then, who was never the same one she came back. Though she had no idea why, it made her sad, of course.
Taking a deep breath as she stopped in front of the door, which she was pretty sure the right door, she knocked.
The door opened and a huge man stepped out, looking down at her with an angry look.
Her eyes widening as she held the jacket to her chest.
"oh my gosh!!! Im so sorry! I mustve had the wrong room number! Im so sorry"
She says with a bow, the door slamming with the man saying nothing. Then looking at the other rooms as she got back up and looking at the numbers, seeing she was one door off.
(oof lmao)
Met picked himself up after petting his cat for a few moments, moving to his room and taking off his shirt. He looked into his mirror for the first time in about a couple weeks, sighing at his re-tangled, wild hair, the slightly graying hairs (somehow, even though he was in his young twenties. It must be the stress), and his plaid, long face. To anybody he might be tall and handsome, but to himself he was pathetic and bumbling. He couldn't even stop himself from interrupting a reunion, he was that stupid. A slamming from next door jolted him from his coma and he grabbed his blanket off of his bed before slumping across his apartment for some cake and hot chocolate. He'd probably go over his diet's sugar intake but he didn't care. He'd spend a couple hours more at the gym and make it up to himself. He popped a couple pills and downed them with water, then looked up at a knock. Weird, he wasn't expecting anyone. He wrapped himself up in his blanket so he didn't appear indecent and moved to peep in the peephole. Seo?
"Um… yeah?" He asked slowly as he opened the door. He suddenly wished he didn't look as pathetic as he felt, but there he was, looking as pathetic as he felt with his puffy red eyes and his wrinkled dress pants.
Holding the jacket tightly still like a little girl to her stuffed teddy bear in the dark, she smiled at him
"oh golly! I wasnt prepared for this! I mean!…… you forgot your jacket…… sorry I shoulda given it back yesterday before you left…. I forgot."
She says with a 90 angled bow, her hair falling off of her shoulders, getting a good smell of the jacket, smelling wonderfully like him, and at that moment the last thing she wanted to do was to give it back, then quickly looking back up, knowing she had to. Whether she liked it or not. They were no longer in a relationship. The only ship they were on, was one that had sunk to the bottom of the sea four years ago, and they managed to swim up and away, ending up on complete opposite sides of the ocean, living their own life away from each other. At least…….that's what it felt like, but in reality, they were living in the same town for crying out loud, and…… did hey have a chance? No…… she knew he wasnt interested in the slightest bit, but then her mind flashing back to the picture.
oh golly….. does he……do we……
"oh! Yeah, um, here you go!"
She says shoving the jacket towards him looking up at his messy hair that she still found amazing, looking up at his red eyes, trying to keep her smile on as she realized that he probably had cried.
"Oh, yeah. I forgot I gave that to you," He murmured, moving his arms out for her to give it back. But she had zoned out and he was somewhat afraid to rouse her from it. His gaze flicked away from her face when she went to look at his eyes, turning his head so his hair mostly hid his puffy red eyes.
"Thanks. I needed the stuff in here. Apparently my wallet's in here and… yeah." He hung up the coat again and stood up off of the wall, the blanket drooping open to reveal color on his pale, toned chest. He didn't seem to care about the exposure. He was still pretty comfortable with her despite the extremely awkward situation they were in.
"ah! No problem!"
She says with a smile, then dropping her keys that she accidentally took although she didnt take her care, when the blanket dropped. Her face turning beet red as she looked at him, not able to peel her vanilla eyes from him for about five seconds before she realized she was staring,
"oh, i- uh- im so sorry, i didntn mean to……"
She stutters all over the place like she used to do four years ago, seemingly a habit that hadnt been broken just yet.
Her keys still on the floor.
"Oh, the blanket, sorry." He grabbed it and pulled it back over his perfect chest, shuffling and bending down with a soft noise of pain as he stood up slowly again to give it back. He moved too quickly and a shockwave of pain through his sore back had made him make a noise he couldn't take back from the silent moment they were sharing.
"Anyway, um… thanks for bringing my coat back." He stuck his hand out, offering her the keys which were wrapped around his delicate, probably still-rough fingers. As she looked at them she could remember how they felt.
(perfect chest!!! IM DEAD)
Holding herself back, to keep herself from just plain out hugging him, slowly taking the keys as her soft fingers brushed against his, wanting to hold them so badly, remembering how they felt years ago, how they would hold each other's hands all the time.
"no problem at all…"
She says rather quietly, almost a whisper as she was visibly stuck on the thought of them four years ago.
She loved him so much……. why did she leave him.
(lmaoooo)
Met sniffled a little and rubbed his nose. "Anyway I'm probably going to make some tea for my throat, so… unless you'd like some I'll leave you alone, now," He murmured with his hoarse voice from last night's episode. He was saying it as if he was just a bother to her, which he technically was. He was the one who gave her his coat and forgot about it. He wanted her to join him and enjoy cake together and just laugh and eat like they always did, but what was the chances of that? He longed for it with every particle of his being, but he knew it wouldn't happen. Nothing ever worked out for him anyway.
"Oh!?"
She exclaims, jumping at the sound of his voice, snapping out of her memories.
"um, well…… if you don't mind…….."
She says fiddling with the cute charms on her keychain then looking up at him with her huge eyes,
"I would like to join you"
She says nervously. She knew he was just saying that to be nice, so of course, she would decline, not to bother him, then suddenly realizing what she said,
"I mean! If you don't want me to, that's totally fine! I can totally leave!"
She really didn't want him to say that she couldn't come in, but she would definitely respect his decision and leave.
It's not like we're anything special anyway…… just old…. acquaintances.
"Join me?" He repeated softly. "I'd like that a lot, actually. But I'm not really ready because my place is sort of a mess and… I guess you can come in, though." He opened the door for her and gestured for her to come in meekly, moving across the apartment to do something with his shaking hands. He felt so nervous he was ready to pass out, but he fumbled with the hot kettle and made two cups of tea. One the way she liked it (he remembered) and one extra sweet for himself.
"You can just sit on the couch. Rubi might greet you. But he's been blowing me off lately. I think he's a little mad." He tried making cute sweet talk but his quavering and hoarse voice was sort of putting it off a lot.
Walking in, sitting on his couch nervously, she wasnt about to judge, she was only in a black tank top and sweat pants https://pin.it/tc53jb6dxysmso (something like that lol).
Her room was a mess too, so again, she wasnt going to judge, not like she was a judge person though.
Taking a sip of her tea as her throat felt warm, along with her heart as she tasted it. A whole gob of sugar and peach, just how she liked it.
"you…… you remembered?"
She says looking up to him as her white hair fell over her shoulder, that cute, same old smile had appeared on her face.
Met sat down nearby despite wanting to sit on the couch with her. His living room wasn't really a mess, just trash here and there he didn't bother getting rid of and he didn't vacuum for a while.
He sipped his own tea quietly, letting the honey and small amount of creamer and sugar soothe his throat. He looked up and met her gaze for the first time that day.
"Yeah. Of course I did. I always made it for you when you got sick or was feeling really tired. You used to love it when I made it for you."
"Used to….."
She mumbles quietly to herself. She didn't like those words. Describing the past tense. It meant that it used to be something, but now it's in the past. Not the present, or even the future. The past.
"I still do!"
She says looking up from her tea with a big smile. She didn't think she would have the courage to say anything to him. But here she was in his house drinking tea.
Met looked up at her at her sudden outburst, his lips twitching as he thought of a response. "Well… I'd love to make it for you more in the future, then," He hummed over his cup, quickly dropping his puffy gaze again. He was never so shy and private, but that seemed to change recently. Also because he didn't want her looking to closely at his red eyes. He didn't want to seem like some weak guy (even though he was). She probably had all kinds of men running after her.
(She did, which Met used to protect her from. TT^TT)
Her heart seemed to skip a beat and do a summersault in her chest when he said that. In the future?! We're they going to be able to spend more time with him!?!?
Or what he just saying that to be polite.
"I would like that a lot!"
She says with one of her stupid grins on her face, then she realized how she looked. She hadn't put any makeup on!(though nobody can tell the difference weather she put some on or not) Nor nice clothes! The only thing that looked nice about her was her nicely brushed hair!
oh no…..im a mess!!!
(waaaah they need each other)
Honestly, she thought she was a mess? She probably didn't look at Met right, who was wrapped up in a blanket with 'I just cried and I don't know why' eyes, the occasional sniffle, messy hair and wrinkled dress pants. He was the definition of mess and she didn't seem to realize that.
"I would too," He murmured softly, glancing up at her. "I'm sorry about yesterday. I didn't realize that… Grace is just a friend. I was just going through a tough time and we were just enjoying each other's friendship. We tried a relationship but it didn't work. We didn't do anything. We were together for only two months… so… I wanted to clear that up…" …So your brother doesn't kill me in the most violent way possible…
"Umm okay…."
She didn't know why he was telling her this?! They weren't in any type of relationship, so it wasn't like he was cheating on her or anything, so why was he clearing that up? Unless…….did he still have feelings for her?
No……
He absolutely had feelings for her, telling her that was just trying to put water under the bridge as his second intention, but he didn't want to die so that was his first intention. He knew it was risky but he wanted to get it out. He set his empty cup down and swallowed nervously.
"So… um… did you find anyone else?" That was a bad way to phrase that. "Imean-i mean, um, ah…" He let it go, cupping his face into his hands. He just wanted to explode into a million stupid pieces.
If she wasnt a bundle of giddy nerves right now, she wouldn't made a stupid cheesy pickup line somewhere along the lines of "no I've been saving myself for you all of this time", with a wink and finger guns, but all she could do was look down at her tea.
"N-no….got asked out plenty of times, even proposed to! But that's another story"
She says as she laughed nervously
"Um…..sorry, I'm rambling now"
She says looking down at her tea once again.
