Walking through the coffee shop door with a little ding as Seo Hyeon insisted on holding the door open for him like she always does with him. Well…..she used to.
Ordering a cheesecake for herself, along with a strawberry boba tea with extra tapioca balls in them, which she was so glad that they actually sold those, she turned to met with a smile and the little money she had in her wallet, but not showing any hints that she didn't have much money.
"Do you know what you want?"

Met got out his own wallet and ordered a strawberry shortcake and a cappuccino, then paid for both of their things. He smiled down at her and re-pocketed his wallet, gesturing to her to follow suit.
“Let’s go find a seat, Seo.”

"Okay…..um, you didn't have to pay for me"
She says putting her wallet in the pocket in her sweatpants, the words "I donut care" running down the side with a donut on the other side on her hip.
"But thank you"
She says with a smile. It was just like back then, not wanting anyone to pay for her. But she's taught herself to still be grateful and not to argue.

“Oopsie. I already did.” He laughed softly and sunk down into a booth with a soft sigh. He was a bit sore from the gym but he was pretty okay otherwise. He was wearing a light pair of gym shorts (yes, in winter) and a long t-shirt with an artist name on the breast. He relaxed back and yawned, grabbing his bottle of water out of his gym bag and slugging the rest of it. He should probably refill it before he left but he could easily do that when he got home.

"Oh okay"
She says with a little giggle. She was also a little sore from the gym. She didn't usually bring a gym bag since she would usually go straight home afterward. Taking a ponytail, having to hold it in her mouth (not the whole thing lol) while she pulling her ling silver-white silky hair into a ponytail, a few curly strands falling into her face, lightly shaping it making her look like an exhausted doll.
"So what'd you get?"
She says with a bright smile resting her chin on the palm of her hand as her elbow set on the table.

Met always brought a gym bag. He was super over prepared all the time wherever he went and it always was helpful in the most random times. He was a secret mom-friend but he didn’t like talking about it too much. He smiled up at her as she spoke, folding his hands on the table neatly.
“I got a strawberry shortcake and an extra-sweet cappuccino. Like I usually do.” He’s also add an unholy amount of cream and sugar into his coffee. He had a really intense sweet tooth.

Fortunately, Seo Hyeon also had an unreasonable sweet tooth, though not near as much as Metaphorical. She also ADORED spicy things. When she was in Korea she actually tried the hottest pepper in the world as a dare. Which was right before she got proposed to.
"Ooh, that sounds super tasty! Could I try?"
She says leaning over the table, looking at his drink then up at him with her usual big light eyes, a smile still plastered on her face as the single dimple on her left side of her cheek showed.

Met was open to any taste as long as it wasn’t sour. He hated sour things and couldn’t handle them for the life of him. It just sucked to have that acid dance on his tongue and on his cheeks. He couldn’t.
“Sure you can!” He slid his cake and drink over to her, smiling back as he examined her cheeks and face. Her smile sent tingles down his spine and made him shiver the smallest amount.

Abruptly sitting down as she looked at the cake, taking a little bite, not wanting to eat all of his cake
"Mm! I've never tried this before! Must be new!"
She says before taking a drink, a surprised expression appearing immediately on her face as she set it down.
"I might have seemed to forget the fact that you had such a sweet tooth!!"
She says with a little laugh, edging it towards him, then taking a drink of her own cup of tea.

Met laughed at her reactions and ate a piece of his cake, gulping down a couple more forkfuls before starting on his coffee.
“Yeah, I never really lost it. But it’s super hard to enjoy all of the sugar because I have to exercise more. But I eat and overcompensate anyway.” He laughed and sipped more of his coffee.

"Well that's not necessarily a bad thing"
She says setting her cold drink on the table, rubbing her hands together as she huffed hot air into her cold hands. She forgot how cold she had always gotten so easily. And wearing a tank top, but she wasn't about to take anyone's help.

She thinks to herself as she looks away.

Met watched her carefully, looking down at his bag and pulling out a Big and Fluffy™ sweater, offering it to her.
“You look cold,” He cooed softly, holding the sweater out to her. He had no idea what happened to his other one that he gave her. He never asked for it back and never got it back.

She had actually kept his big sweater all of these years, and it was hung up in her closet. She had worn it as pajamas or as comfy clothes to lounge around while eating excessive amounts of chocolate. She had always thought about him everytime she worn it, feeling as if he was holding her.
Her face turned noticeably as she reached out to take it, then slipping it on with a smile.
WAIT! What happened to being someone who didn't need a jacket!? Wait……but i can always use a sweater
She thinking to herself as she breathed in his scent.

Met smiled back and sat back into his seat, humming as his leg bounced up and down and he took a forkful of cake. He licked his lips like a happy boy at his birthday party, munching on a strawberry with the joy of one, too. He finished his cake and debated getting a second as he slurped at his coffee, humming into their comfortable silence.

On the other hand, with Seo Hyeon, the silence was only comfortable for a few seconds, then it became awkward. So after a while of awkwardly sitting there, she decides to break the silence. I mean, they went on this date-mean….it wasn't a date at all. But, whatever it was meant to be, they went out with each other to catch up and talk to each other, not sit in this awkward silence!
"So….do you come here often?"
She says looking up to him slightly from her lap.

Met was more than okay to just enjoy the silence of the moment, not thinking it awkward at all as he looked up at her with a small smile.
“Not really. But I come here sometimes for breakfast.” He sipped his coffee. “Do you come here often?” He chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with mirth as he watched her.

"No I don't come to this one much. There's one a little farther from here that I work at. When I'm not working I usually go to that one."
She says with a smile, happy by the fact that he's talking to her. She didn't know what was going to happen, but she was more afraid that he would just ignore her, or get bored and leave her there alone at the booth.

Met would never do that. He’d feel bad forever and never let himself live it down. “Oh, really? Maybe you should show it to me some time and I can visit you on my lunch breaks,” He hummed, smiling a bit more. He’d like to be able to see her every day. His job was really stressful and going to see his favorite person ever would make him feel so happy.

Her smile brightened at his words
"Yeah! We could definitely do that! Though…..um, where do you work?"
She asks tilting her head a tiny bit to the side. She already had an idea where he worked, but she was going to ask anyway.

“Oh, I work over at the police department on fifth. I usually just walk because it's really close and I stop by cafes sometimes.” He usually liked to eat out and enjoy food at lunch breaks, but often he’d skip it because he had to save money. But he could go and just see her on one of those days.

"Wait, really! What do you do there?"
She says obviously intrigued in what he was saying. She had to stop for a minute and take in her surroundings. She was finally with Met. Who she had longed to be with ever since she left. And maybe they had a chance?

“I’m a police detective,” He answered cheerfully, smiling as he watched her look around. She was such a spectacle, so interesting just to look at and enjoy looking at. As he watched he couldn’t help but realize how much he missed her. How much hurt him physically, made his head hurt.

"Oh wow! Have you solved any big cases yet?"
She says swirling her straw around in her drink as the ice cubes seemed to melt. She had already eaten all of the tapioca balls from it, which she had a bad habit of always doing.
