“Yea, Neo has a few but I don’t know if he moved them out yet. Probably not,” He hummed thoughtfully, smiling from her reaction from his compliment. “And you are. I should’ve told you sooner.”

Covering her face with the long sleeves of her sweater, peeking through her fingers as she looked at him.
"Not allowed……"
She says in a quieter voice as her face turned red oh so easily just from that.
“Not allowed what?” Met quizzed, smiling a bit wider as he saw her shy little face peeking out at him. “I’m not allowed to compliment my girlfriend?” He grabbed her hand gently from her face at a light.
"Well….you're not allowed to fluster me!"
She says letting him grab her hand, lacing her fingers with his.
"Hey! Focus on the road!"
She says pointing the road with wide eyes as something scurried across the road
Met looked down from where they had stopped for the light, blinking and glancing at her. “What is it? It looks like a cat or something.” Cars were honking for him to go, but he seemed more interested in the cat as he pulled after it, turning the car.
"Golly!"
She laughed as they turned, still looking at Met. She got to thinking of her future and her dreams. She had never told Met, afraid he wouldn't like it, but she always wanted to go college back in Korea, she already applied, just for fun. But the thing is, she got accepted. She wasn't going to take it. For her moms, and Mets sake.
"Hey…..do you think……i could visit my brother? Not now, but just…..sometime?"
She says in a calmer, more sad voice. She hadn't seen him so long, and he was in a mental ward. She had done some research, and they can have visitors unless they're insane, which Min was not.
Met watched the cat run away and sighed faintly, sitting up again and turning around back to the path to his house. He glanced at her and met her gaze for a few moments before focusing back on the road.
“Sure, I can’t control you.” He smiled a little. He had been running on the assumption that she was staying to go to college in the community. She would probably have to tell him soon, before he backed out of the fancy PI school he got accepted to.
"I just wanted to see if you're okay with it. It is a mental award after all."
She says with a little nervous laugh. Should she tell him? They would have to part ways and probably never see each other again if she went. And he was already staying from college for a little bit for her. We're they just going to be a past lover that would soon move away from each other? She didn't want that but…..what was she going to do?
“I’ll just wait out here.” He didn’t really like mental wards all that much. They had done a lot of studies in them during his internship and he had seen enough of it for school. He would just drop her off and pick her up later or just wait for her. It wouldn’t be all that hard to wait.
The pair were hardly lovers, though. They were more like high school sweethearts, but clearly Met liked her more than just that.
(Wait are they at it right now?)
(Nope they’re on their way.)
(Oh okay)
(^~^)
"Wait, are we going there right now?"
She asks as they take a different route, not going to his house. She wasn't prepared! She was planning on mentally preparing herself to visit him. Guess she had to do it quicker than she planned.
“Don’t you want to go?” He asked, sounding confused and glancing at her again. She seemed too worried about it. “The ward’s not too far away from where I work so I was gonna drop in and tell them my plan for college changed as you visited your brother.”
"oh okay….yeah i do. i just wasnt…..prepared."
She says shuffling in her seat white she unbraids the strand of hair that she braided earlier.
“Do you want to go by yourself?” He asked, slowing down and ready to turn around if he needed to. He pulled over and looked at her, gently taking one of her hands again.
"yeah……i can do it alone."
She says looking out the window, squeezing his hand as she took a shaky breath.
"I mean like, some other time," He added on, raising a hand to turn her face so they were looking at each other. "CC, is there something wrong?"
"no im fine……….i can do this. You can come if you want"
She leans forward kissing his cheek, pulling away with a sweet smile.
(Okay so I wanted to ask you about something. Would it be okay if we skip forward a big while (like, the time it takes her to graduate from college) and they come back together after those years? Or would that be too big of a step do you think? I think it would help speed this up a lot tho)
(Oh yeah let's do that. Btw, people sometimes get released out of mental wards (just telling you if you didn't know, sorry if you did) so I was thinking her brother could get released and surprise her when she comes home. Cuz yay, family!)
(Yay family! And I do know that. I know it's more of a long-term thing for patients like her brother but I do know they get discharged.
So want me to start?)
(sure lol)
It had been over four years. Met graduated with a bachelor's in Human Services and Criminology and got a homey studio apartment in the same city as his college, which he never ended up leaving all of those years ago.
He focused on school, occasionally putting aside time for friends and stupid nights out drinking. He got a lot of tattoos, mostly of roses or songbirds (he knew the artist really well so they gave him free color checks and black-and-white tats). He was a pretty lonely guy, with just a cat named Snowball. He was a big, fluffy Persian and Met liked him a lot.
But Met had other things in his life keeping him busy from the lonely life. He had a full-time job as a police detective. He enjoyed it quite a lot, but working long hours day to day, week to week could and is very repetitive for the man. In the winter it was always the worst. It was December and close to Christmas, so there was all sorts of crime. Most just shoplifting from the more expensive stores with ridiculously expensive things, most DUIs and the worst being the occasional homicide for the 'joke' of it.
