(come down under bro it's pretty nice here atm)
Lachy glanced over at Aidan, raising a brow before he shrugged, "Dunno. Hopefully no one got hurt." He headed off to a store nearby, picking up a very large, very comfy sweater before swinging it over his shoulder.
((on god I would if I could))
“Hopefully yeah…” Aidan split off in a different direction from Lachy, looking for any of the usual edgy clothes he’d wear. Thankfully for Aidan’s emo sanity, he managed to find some that looked about his size and grabbed it.
(fam it's great down here tbh, not to brag but my state is the best but don't tell the others)
Lachy found a changing room in the store, heading towards it once he'd found a comfy pair of jeans. He changed quickly, the black jeans hugging his figure and the blue sweater hanging off one of his shoulders. He walked out of the store, looking for Aidan.
((Nice. And don’t worry I’m not telling anyone lol))
Aidan got changed into his own things, thankfully they all seemed to fit. They were all very fitting to his normal style too. A pair of ripped black jeans, a tight black shirt, and a loose fitting red flannel jacket. There was another thing too, though he was hesitant to wear it. He’d had it clasped tightly in his hand for the past five minutes, trying to make up his mind. He’d been squeezing it so hard he could feel it beginning to cut into his palms. He winced, and unclenched his fist, revealing a simple cross necklace.
((At least 50% of Aidan’s usual wardrobe is Hot Topic stuff on god))
(lol, yeah I've never been to a hot topic before..)
Lachy gave up on trying to find Aidan after a couple minutes, mainly because he got distracted by a couple of the other stores near by, simply browsing the clothes and other items. It was strange to know that there was only four people in the building. It was so quiet, desolate and Lachy couldn't help but be slightly on edge.
((I only started going to them recently but I thrive in there))
After a few minutes of internal debate he had reached no conclusion and settled on shoving it in his back pocket. He wandered back out into the main area of the building, looking for Lachy and finding him after a few minutes. “Hey.” Was his very classy way of announcing his presence.
(Oof yeah we don't have them here)
The small boy jumped nearly five feet in the air, having not noticed Aidan's presence before he spoke. He pouted, whacking the other on the chest though it was hardly hard enough to hurt even a little, "Don't scare me like that you idiot!"
((That’s a big oof dude))
He chuckled softly. “Sorry.” Of course he didn’t sound sorry at all. “Seems like you found some stuff you liked?” He said, gesturing at Lachy’s outfit. “Honestly doesn’t surprise me, this type of stuff seemed like your style.”
Lachy crossed his arms over his chest, shuffling on his feet as he looked down, "Is.. is that a bad thing?" He'd never been one for more masculine, tight fitting clothes. It didn't suit his body and he never liked it, anyway. Something he'd always been insecure of.
“No it’s not a bad thing dummy.” He punched Lachy’s arm gently. “It’s very you and I like it. Just like how this edgy mess-“ he gestured at himself, “is very much my style. Which could be a good or bad thing, opinions vary greatly on my style.”
"It suits you," Lachy nodded to the outfit, biting down on his bottom lip, "You look good." He offered a small smile before he headed for the door. Sasha and Bella were probably wondering where they were and why they hadn't come out yet.
He smiled softly at Lachy’s compliment, for some reason it felt so meaningful when it came from him. Aidan followed behind Lachy, most definitely still smiling like a complete dork. But yes, Aidan totally doesn’t have feelings for Lachy. Obviously.
Lachy led them out of the building, the same way they'd come in. The trio were waiting for them and they were quickly on the move again. The smaller male kept glancing over at Aidan, he didn't know why, maybe it was just because he liked looking at him? He shook that thought away as soon as it came.
((They’re both gay idiots I swear))
Aidan felt Lachy’s gaze on him. He didn’t know why he didn’t just acknowledge it or anything. He almost felt embarrassed or something. His mind started freaking out, over analyzing everything about himself, like if his hair looked stupid or if he smelled bad.
(lmao me too)
Lachy forced himself to stop, to not look at the at the handsome boy walking not to far away from him. He couldn't think like that, not right now. Maybe when things have calmed down but then again.. Aidan had said he wanted to be 'normal,' would he even want to date a guy? The path became rocky, more slippery as they headed to the river.
((Ofc Aidan’s dumb gayness ruined it lmao))
As the path got more treacherous, Aidan was forced back into reality, his brow furrowing in concentration as he navigated the terrain.
It was then that Gareth stopped them, holding a finger to his lips to indicate that they had to be quiet. Sash drew her gun, Bella doing the same. There was a rustling in the bushes across the river, then a silence, then another rustle.
Aidan silently shifted closer to Lachy, putting a protective arm out in front of him. He didn’t want conflict but if there was, he wouldn’t hesitate to fight to protect himself and Lachy.
There was another silence and then there was shouting and gun shots. The three elders immediately fired back, Bella pushing Lachy and Aidan behind a nearby tree for some form of protection. It seemed they'd been followed.
Aidan gritted his teeth. “Dammit!” He growled under his breath. He clenched his fists, which had quickly begun to smoke from agitation, not quite catching flame yet.
"Aidan stop!" Lachy hissed, "You'll draw attention to us and you can't die when we haven't even reached the camp yet." He said, worry etching itself into his features. He looked around the tree, fingers twitching at his side.
“Sorry, sorry.” He hissed back, seeming to focus for a second before the smoke stopped. “Be careful.” He whispered as he saw Lachy poke his head around the tree.
Lachy watched the fight. The trio seemed to have taken out quite a few of the others, but there was still at least five others shooting at them. He frowned, then gasped when he saw an arrow heading straight for Aidan. He raised his hand, sending a burst of light out to prevent the arrow from hitting him.
Aidan hadn’t spotted it and tensed up at Lachy’s burst of light. As soon as he realized what, Lachy had done, he relaxed again, giving him a nod of thanks. He tried to be more alert after that.
And then Bella went down, shot in the chest and sending her flying back as her body went limp over a nearby rock. Someone stepped out from behind a rock on the other side of the river, shooting more furiously now they were down a man.
