"No nine year olds, got it." Karkota smiled at her wink.
"So I get to watch you dance? That'll be the highlight of this imprisonment."
"No nine year olds, got it." Karkota smiled at her wink.
"So I get to watch you dance? That'll be the highlight of this imprisonment."
She rolled her eyes and started walking. The studio was a bit away from her place, but she liked walking–and she didn't exactly know how to drive. Never had the chance to learn. "No, no nine-year-olds."
He followed after her, "so you don't drive?" He didn't mind walking, its just he didn't really know how far it was. "Or is this you giving me a chance to run again?"
"No, I don't drive," she said, just a tad snippy. "It's not far, and I think you've discovered that I can catch you if you do try to run." The morning chill made goosebumps rise on her exposed skin. She wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to warm herself up.
"Yeah, well I wouldn't blame you if you where giving me a chance. I'd try and get rid of me too." Karkota laughed at his joke before noticing how she seemed cold. He picked up his pace so he was now walking as fast as her and awkwardly put an arm around her. His attempt at warming her. "You should really wear something that covers more, ya know, so you don't get cold."
She tensed slightly when he put an arm around her, but didn't move away. Damn, he was warm. She just settled on a half-hearted scowl. "Dancing requires lots of movement. Lots of movement means heat. If I wore any more, I'd sweat to death. Not to mention less is better cause it allows more movement."
"You could always ditch a jacket with me. Besides, if you get sick I'd end up taking care of you, and I suck at taking care of other people." Karkota made sure he wasn't squishing her, and he was ready to pull away if she decided to punch him.
"And back down from the cold? Never." She bit her lip to keep from smiling. "How dare you even suggest such an appalling notion? What kind of person do you think I am?" She scoffed. "Jacket." She was slowly warming up slightly, and her inner cuddle bug was itching to lean into him. She suppressed that thought, though.
Karkota laughed, a smile jumping to his face. He relaxed after he didn't stab or punch him. "Well I think you're a lovely person, you know, besides you keeping me prisoner. I also think you're crazy." He shot his smile towards her.
"I may be crazy, but it's better than boring. I've heard the crazy girls make the best girlfriends." She smirked at him, warming up to his presence.
Karkota about stopped walking, but he didn't. He made himself keep going because she was joking, right? "What, are you saying you want to be my girlfriend now?" His tone somehow both joking and serious.
She rolled her eyes at his reaction. "I'm kidding. Kinda. I've been told by quite a few people I was the best they ever had." She rolled around the idea of her and Karkota, then snorted. "As if I'd want to date the enemy."
"I might be the enemy but I'm not that bad." He shook head with a laugh. "Besides I've helped you twice now. Last night when you where drunk, and now that your cold. I still think you should have brought a jacket by the way."
"Never," she said, her voice turning singsong. "And I thank you for both of those, though I know how to take care of myself." She saw the studio in the distance.
"Well obviously, but it doesn't hurt to have some help sometime." He saw the studio a head of them. "That the place?" He asked as he looked back to her.
"Yeup." Tessa looked both ways, then quickly crossed the street, making sure she had a hold on Karkota so that he didn't go too far. Once they were on the other side, she turned to the right and followed the sidewalk. All they needed to do now was walk this way a bit and then they'd be there.
"Race you?" Karkota said with a grin. He already knew she could catch him easily, but a good race had to be fun. Even if she would absolutely beat him.
She smirked. "I'll take any chance to kick your ass without actual violence."
"Oh we'll see about that." Karkota shot her the grin that was on his face, and took off. Making sure to not look like he was running away, because he wasn't. But much rather trying to win a useless race.
She ran after him, her sandaled feet slapping against the concrete as she quickly caught up to him. But she restrained herself, staying by his side as she ran. She shot her own grin at him as she ran by him.
"Going easy on me?" As soon as the words left his mouth he tripped and flew forward. Karkota let out a curse as he pushed himself off the ground. "Ow." He mumbled feeling absolutely stupid for falling in front of her.
She stopped, but didn't laugh at him. "You good?" she asked, sounding genuinely concerned as she came up to him. The sprint had been exhilarating and a great way to start the morning. And if she were being honest with herself, she was actually having some fun with Karkota.
"Yeah, this isn't the worst that could happen." Karkota laughed and stood. Though it was obvious he was in some pain, making him feel weak. "Call that one a tie?" He asked jokingly.
She nodded and offered a small smile. "Sure." She looked over her shoulder and saw that they were just one building from the studio, then looked back at Karkota. "Can the cripple make it?"
"This Cripple can even dance if he really feels like it." He did a small jig, looking absolutely stupid. "Okay yeah that hurt." He smiled and began walking twords the studio again.
