Karkota nodded his head, still having trouble finding the right words. He was beyond surprised. More so shocked then anything. "Yeah." He finally managed. The words seeming strange to him.

She rolled her eyes. "Now, can I get food or are you going to keep gawking at me?" She was honestly a little surprised he didn't scream and bolt the second he figured out who she was. "And this is why I never told you," she added with a sigh.

@Dirt

Karkota quickly pulled his gaze to the ground. "Yeah, sorry. Just kinda shocked, you know?" He continued walking, slowly of course. He didn't want her to think he was bolting again. Would she tackle him in public? Or let him run and hunt him down? He shook the thoughts from his head.

Tessa rubbed at her scarred wrists, walking beside him in silence. Some people asked her what was so special about names. What power did they truly? Well, her answer was simple: Depends. In her case, her name held a lot of power. No one dared to utter her name in public–it was considered bad luck and would draw her to them. It was great when she needed to strike fear into others. It kept them away from her and from causing unnecessary problems.

Sometimes, however, she wished she could erase her name and start over.

@Dirt

After a few moments of silent, Karkota decided to speak. The awkward quiet was getting to him, and he didn't want her to think he'd never talk to her again. "I'm sorry all that happened to you." He glanced at her, "you didn't deserve it," he hesataited, he knew the rumors, "no one does, Tessa."

@ElderGod-kirky group

She clenched her jaw. "Why do you think I've been hunting down every one of those bastards and blowing up their facilities?" she asked lowly, refusing to turn her suddenly hard gaze on him.

@Dirt

Karkota looked away, scared that she'd tell him to stop gawking. Why was he so scared of her? A past that was nothing short of awful, yes. But was it really so different then anyone in the kinda bussnes they where in?
Did he think revenge was a good thing? Would he have done the same?
"Oh" he mumbled, again not really having the right words.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"If you're thinking revenge, then you've got it wrong. I don't go after my foster families unless they harmed me in a way that I see as revenge worthy–like my foster brother. It's those fuckwads that call themselves scientists." Her hands curled into tight fists. "They take children off the street to do illegal and fatal–or permanently damaging–experiments on them. If you fight, you get 'broken in' like some animal." she spat, then took a calming breath and lowered her voice. "Those that strive long enough usually end up as mindless husks of themselves. Most, however, don't make it past the first operation."

@Dirt

Karkota have her a shocked look. He didn't know what happened. He had no idea that her past was that bad. He didn't know the full story, but he was getting bits and pieces that he didn't have before. It was like a puzzle that Tessa was slowly doing for him. Giving him all the answers he needed. Almost like she was trying to scare him into submission, but unknowingly telling him just want he needed. "I can see why you're killing them." He said blandly. He couldn't find the right kinda emotion for that, other then fear that is.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She rubbed at her wrists again. "I'm not doing it for self-fulfillment or satisfaction. I'm doing it to help the kids that are too weak and afraid to fight back. Only then, once the entire operation is shut down, is when I disappear and get a new life. A better one, where no one is afraid of just my stupid name." Her gaze had fallen to the ground at this point.

@Dirt

Karkota hesitantly reached out, placing a hand on her wrist. Something ment to be comforting, even if he was scared out of his mind still.
"I'll help you." Was he crazy? Possibly. Did he think this would work? Not really. But he did see where she was coming from. He saw her hatred. Her rage, her pain. And even though he wanted to get away from her. Something told him to help her.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She jerked her head up, golden eyes wide with surprise as her other hand fell down to her side. The last thing she expected him to say was that. If anything, she expected silence or insisting that she was still getting revenge, no matter how she put it. That he didn't believe she could ever want to have a normal life outside of killing and fear. Anything, besides offering to help. "W-what?"

@Dirt

Karkota met her gaze, "you heard me, I want to help you." Though he kept walking, that didn't change the fact that his legs wanted to give out. He'd killed before, but on such a scale? Infact, offering to help his kidnapper kill, that was something new. "Now are we going to eat or what?"

@ElderGod-kirky group

She pulled out of his grasp, dropping her hands to her sides. He doesn't really want to help me. He just wants to keep his skin. She sighed through barely parted lips and ushered him into the cafe they were nearing. It wasn't very busy, so most of the waitresses were milling about and talking to one another. One had a little blonde girl in her arms. Once Tessa entered the cafe, the girl's baby blue eyes lit up and she grinned from ear to ear. "SISSY!" She started squirming in the woman's grasp.
Tessa smiled warmly at the girl and approached her. "Hey there cutie," she cooed. "How's my favorite girl?" The woman greeted Tessa and transferred the squirming child into Tessa's arms without hesitation. Tessa easily held her against her hip and playfully poked her belly. "You've been stealing cookies, haven't you?" she said with a smile, then scrunched up her nose as the little girl poked it in retaliation.

@Dirt

Karkota watched carefully, having expected her to say something, anything. When she didn't, he wondered if she knew what he was planning. Was he really planning something other then escape? If he could, he wasn't to sure.
He raised an eyebrow when they walked in, and a little girl seemed so focused on Tessa. "You didn't tell me you had a little sister?" He glanced over at Tessa.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She turned towards Karkota, moving her head back as the little girl tugged at her hair. "I have an older half brother in Hawaii, a younger half brother that hates my guts, and this little cutie right here." She kissed the girl's cheek, and she grinned over at Karkota, showing off her missing front tooth. "My name Angel!" The little girl said, then wrapped her arms around Tessa's neck and leaned against her. "Are you two going to get married?" she whispered not so quietly. Tessa rolled her eyes and mouthed 'I'm sorry,' to Karkota.

@Dirt

"Wow." Karkota was shocked at how many siblings she had. He didn't know why, but he thought she was an only child. He chuckled at how happy the little girl was. "Well hi Angel, I'm Kota." He figured she'd have trouble with his real name, so he used his nickname.
Karkoat gave a surprised look when Angel asked Tessa the question. Though he rolled his eyes, "oh yeah totally." Sarcasm, but then he realized the little girl probably didn't understand sarcasm.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Angel grinned brightly and waved enthusiastically at him. "Hi, Kota!" She then quickly got a sour mood and pouted out her bottom lip. "Do you not like Sissy?" She scowled at him. "Why you no like Sissy?!" she demanded.
Tessa chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Just because he's my friend doesn't mean we're getting married, Angel Cake." She set the little girl down but remained crouched at her level. "Kota and I are hungry. You think you can head to the back and get my special?" The girl's face quickly brightened with a grin and she took off into the kitchen. Tessa watched her go with a thoughtless and sisterly smile.

@Dirt

Karkota chuckled at how Angel turned angry quite quickly. "Yes, we're just friends." He said before the little girl ran off.
"Someone looks proud." He teassed. "Though I guess I can't judge." He stuffed his burnt hand in his pocket, his mind wondering to his sister.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Angel looks at me like some hero," she explained as she stood back up. "Lex knows and despises me, and Ronan couldn't give two shits." She greeted some of the waitresses, then ushered Karkota to a seat along the bar-like counter.

@Dirt

"Well can you blame them?" Karkota sat. "How are you gonna explain dragging me everywhere?" Of course he whispered. He didn't want to destroy her normal life.

@ElderGod-kirky group

She leaned on her elbows with her chin resting on her laced fingers. "You're just oh so in love with me you just can't stay away," she said with a cheeky smile.

@Dirt

"Doesn't sound to healthy." He hunched over resting his elbows on the counter infrount of them. "And what are you gonna do if one of my dads men see us?" He raised an eyebrow at her. He had a question for himself too, what would he do? Its not like he actually wanted to be in his dads business, so what would he do if he got away?

@ElderGod-kirky group

She snorted. "Nothing's healthy when it comes to me, so you've got that right." She traced a thoughtless pattern on the counter with her fingernail. "I've thought about that already. Assuming they're mindful of what the public would think if a gang war broke out, they won't be dumb enough to try and grab you out in public. If they're dumb enough for that, I'm always prepared for a fight. Force of habit from the streets, but it's proved useful on several occasions."
