She snorted and loosely, playfully, hooked an arm around his neck. "Thought so. C'mon. I'll show you how dance is really done."
She snorted and loosely, playfully, hooked an arm around his neck. "Thought so. C'mon. I'll show you how dance is really done."
"Oh yes, please lead the way all might Dance teacher." Karkota jokingly bowed, shrugging away from her arm at the same time. If the rest of his imprisonment was going to be like this, joking around and getting to tag along to places, he decided it wouldn't be that bad after all.
She grinned and headed on inside. They were instantly greeted with a crowd of people, all sorts of skin colors and body shapes. It was clear there was no discrimination here. Tessa led Karkota through the crowd towards an out-of-the-way area.
Karkota looked around, truly amazed. He couldn't recall the last time he'd seen so much diversity in one place. Especially one where no one seemed to care what the others looked like. It made him smile.
A man came up to Karkota and Tessa, grinning with a wicked glint in his eyes. "So our little Queen has ensnared someone in her little trap, hm?" he asked. Tessa groaned and closed her eyes, her head falling back with frustration already. And embarrassment. Why??
Karkota raised an eyebrow, he could play the 'I don't know English card.' or, he could embarrass Tessa even more.
"You could say that." He said jokingly before adding, "but um yeah no, I'm her roommate."
Tessa opened her eyes and shot Karkota a grateful look, then shot the man a death glare. "He wanted to tag along since he had nothing else to do," she lied smoothly.
The man didn't look convinced but didn't push it. "Alright, keep your secrets. But I want the deets later. The class knows the majority of the routine, but I need you to help me show them how to string it all together and with a partner. Plus, everyone loves our Freestyle Queen." He winked and pulled her into a side hug. She hugged him back without complaint.
Karkota sent his own glare twords Tessa. Seeming to say she owed him. After all he could have said something like, 'oh yes ensnared, more like kidnapped and forced to live with this crazy woman untill they decide to get rid of me.' but hey, saying that would have only gotten them both in trouble.
Tessa pulled away and lightly grabbed Karkota's arm, then shooed away the man. "You go ahead, Danny. I'll be over in a bit." He nodded and clapped his hands to get the class's attention as he moved to the front of the room.
Tessa tugged Karkota towards the sidelines. "Stay here, please. I don't want to have to teach and worry about you."
Karkota gave a short nod, "don't worry about me. I actually think watching this will be fun." He leaned against a wall and slid down it. Crossing his legs in frount of him.
She smiled and headed next to Danny.
Tessa seemed to change completely, becoming both serious and playful as she slowly went through the dance routine with Danny. As it was a sexual song, there was obviously quite a bit of touching and hip movements and crawling on the floor and whatnot. She was patient with the ones that couldn't get it on the first try, and proved to be an efficient teacher. The people loved her and gobbled up her tips and help whenever they could.
Karkota quickly became uncomfortable. But at the same time was mesmerized. Really the only time he ever saw people dance was when he father dragged him to places no teenager should have been. Though he was 19 now, it really shouldn't have bothered him the way it did.
Once the lesson was over, Danny announced that they'd be watching the groups now. Everyone backed up to form a circle, pulling Karkota into the circle like he was one of them. Tessa and Danny went into the middle of the floor and waited for the music to start. The choreographers always went first, then the students went after to show their interpretation of the choreo.
Karkota was surprised they didn't shun him from the circle. In fact he was even a bit grateful, this was fun. Even if he was only watching. He propped his head up on his hands, seeming to be enjoying himself.
The music started, and Tessa already had a smile on her face as she bobbed her body to the rhythm of the song, waiting for the intro to end.
Once the actual song started, she was already in motion. She and Danny moved quickly with precise but smooth movements, bodies moving in sync as they danced. It was faster than the pace that the lesson had been taught at, but she easily kept up to the music. She occasionally threw a flirty expression, bit her lip seductively, or added her own flare to the choreography. None of it hindered Danny or the routine. One could argue that it just made it even better and personal.
When she wasn't doing that, a wide grin was on her face.
When it got to the part that she had sung to Karkota, Danny backed away to let her freestyle the rest of the song. She slowly lowered herself with each line until she was on her knees just as Nicki said 'toes on my knees'. Tessa quickly slid her knees apart and back together as Nicki said 'a freak'.
She smoothly made her way back up to her feet as the circle went wild, cat calling and throwing praises. She continued to freestyle alone, the dance a little different from the original choreography as it had her own style thrown in.
Karkoat joined in on the praise. Clapping, and throwing in his own compliments torwds Tessa. He even threw in a cat call. He continued to watch, he enjoyed how happy everyone seemed, how they continued throwing out praise.
The song ended, and everyone cheered as Tessa grinned and laughed joyfully. She slid into the circle, finding Karkota and coming up to him. The next group assembled and went into the middle, waiting for their turn to start. The groups would have a shorter routine, but that didn't mean it would be any less enjoyable to watch.
Tessa's skin was flushed from all the movement, slightly slick with a thin sheen of sweat.
"So you really can dance." Karkota gave a laugh. "You're really good- and no I don't mean that in a creepy way. I genuinely believe you're good."
Tessa rolled her eyes. "It's my job to teach a class–I sure hope I can dance." She smiled, just a tad out of breath. "But thanks. It's nice to be appreciated for something other than–you know–every once and a while."
(Oof so I won't be on much for the next two weeks. Or at least as much as I usually am.)
Karkota laughed, "well yeah. I guess it would be nice. You do this every day?" He didn't look at Tessa, much rather still watching the group that was dancing.
(Okay, thanks for letting me know)
"Not every day. Whenever there's a class. Maybe about to or three times a week?" Tessa turned around to watch them as well, grinning when one of them went a little off script and did their own thing for a bit. It looked amazing.
"You know," Karkota started, "I have a normal job too." He shot her a glance as if asking, what she was gonna do when people noticed he was missing.
"I'm sure it's already been taken care of. You fell ill and are staying at a family member's place until you're feeling better. Some other shit like that." She shrugged, eyes not leaving the dancing group as they finished, then were replaced with another, larger group.
Karkota grinned, his eyes going back to the dancers. "Who's to say I have any other family then my dad in America?" He didn't know why he was challengeing her all of a sudden like this.
"Well, I'm gonna assume you have a mother in Hawaii," she started, tilting her head as she thought, tongue slightly poking out the corner of her mouth. "You corrected me when I said parents, and you speak Hawaiian. I'd rather not assume the other option. And may I add that Hawaii is still in America, even though they have their own language there?"
