"Off along then," he gestured towards the door. Julian was such a gentle kid; for Pierre, it was a calming atmosphere for him.
"Off along then," he gestured towards the door. Julian was such a gentle kid; for Pierre, it was a calming atmosphere for him.
He grinned and made sure to be quiet. "Father is in the kitchen and mother is in the family room." He whispered.
His lip twitched. "We'll be sneaky then." Pierre replied softly.
He covered his mouth trying not to laugh. "Alright." He whispered before tip toeing towards the front door.
Carmine watched them pass, giving a quaint trill of greeting. Pierre silently shushed her, and Carmine decided to follow him outside.
Julian gave him a worried look. "What do we do? She's following us." He asked sharply.
"She's an outside cat, Jules," Poerre bent and pet her head, after making sure the door shut silently. "Would you want to sit inside with those miserable dopes all day?"
He sighed looking at him. "No." He mumbled before perking up. "I'll race you!" He grinned before running off.
"Jules!" He cried in laughter. Pierre gasped and burst off after his little brother, the tiny bells of his grey cat's collar trailing behind.
Julian grinned sprinting off. "Come on you slow poke!" He shouted as he was so far ahead of his brother.
Pierre giggled under the impression of heavy breaths. "You got a head start!" He flailed his arms as he sprinted, leaping over narrow flowerbeds and darting down the winding forest trails.
"But you have longer legs!" He called over his shoulder. Julian ducked under some of the low branches and stood tall once he made it through.
Pierre nearly ran into a tree, "Hah, I—"
He proceeded to trip and fall face first into, luckily, a patch of grass.
Carmine gave a concerned mew.
Julian looked behind him and stopped. He halted to a stop and carefully made his way over to him. "Pier?"
He lifted his head, quite dazed and understandably so. "…Firstly, ouch," he half laughed, fortunately signaling he wasn't badly hurt. "Secondly, embarrassing," he gave his brother a sheepish smile.
He chuckled and held a hand out to him. "Need some help?" He asked.
Pierre leaned up to take his hand. "Ah… Thanks," he humored faintly.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Julian asked again with a concerned expression. He cared for his brother, a lot.
Pierre brushed bits of leaves from his hair. "Yes, Jules," he ruffled his brother's dark hair. "Poor me," he gave him a lighthearted smile.
"Alright- well, race you. Again!" He called before running off with a smile still on his face.
"No, no..!" Pierre begged laughingly, pressing a hand over his thrumming heart. "Come on, im a decade older than you," he scooped up his feline companion, and she crawled up his arm to his shoulder.
"Fine, but I'm still going to win!" He yelled still running with a bliss-filled grin.
"Sure.." Pierre mused to himself. He ran a hand over Carmine's soft head, peering up through the trees at a carmelizing sky. It was a lovely night for sure. Energetic, more often than others, like a firepit; nearly too hot for fun. He smiled.
Julian gave up running and just started to walk at a slow pace now. He was already bored. "Come on Pier! Hurry up." He whined.
Pierre tipped his head back for a laugh. "I'll trip again, and I want to enjoy it. The woods are pretty," he replied in a breath. Carmine meowed at Julian.
