Pierre emerged from the pond and cast Julian a sympathetic look. "We can stay. Just watch the sky," he seated himself by him. "So… I met someone today."
Pierre emerged from the pond and cast Julian a sympathetic look. "We can stay. Just watch the sky," he seated himself by him. "So… I met someone today."
Julian looked at him. "Someone? Was it a girl?" He asked seeming somewhat interested.
He laid down on the grass, smiling faintly. "Yeah.. she was down here by the pond,"
"Was she pretty?" He asked with a smile looking at his brother's face. He could already tell he was fond of her. Even if he didn't know it himself.
His nose twitched like a rabbit's, stifling the fond smile creeping over his face. "She was.. appropriately lovely." He answered sparingly.
"You like her." Julian teased adjusting his position so his legs were crossed. "You like her lots." He smiled resting his chin on his palms.
He squinted in feigned offense, "I can compliment a girl without having a crush!" He insisted shrilly.
"You said 'Appropriately lovely.' That's a weird compliment. You're just trying to avoid telling the truth." Julian tried to claim poking his stomach. "So I bet you do have a crush because you denied it so quickly."
Pierre rubbed a hand down his face. A miffed look settled on his face. "I barely know her,"
"You can still like her." Julian pointed out with a soft smile.
"Her name is Clara," he peered over at his brother. "Ms. Clara."
"Pretty name." He smiled. "Clara DeFranqe… has a nice ring to it." He chuckled.
He wrinkled his nose. "Julian!" He promptly scolded, embarrassed.
Julian laughed loudly falling back. "You do have a crush! You wouldn't be so bothered by it if you didn't!" He claimed with a huge grin.
Pierre firmly planted a palm over his face. "Insufferable… I can't even…" He struggled, smiling stupidly.
"Alright I'll stop… though it's obvious you like her. What's she look like?" Julian asked interested now.
He sat up on an elbow. "Black hair," he recounted fondly, "The strangest eyes. Like the sky actually, just a moment ago,"
"Really? That pretty?" He asked looking up at the sky. "Go on, there's more to a person then that." Julian insisted.
Brushing his hair back, "Kind of short. Reserved. She's built well," in other words, curvy.
Julian smirked some. "Does father know?" He asked trying to look as if he was just curious.
A perturbed look slipped over his brows. "No. I don't want him to know." He looked over the pond. It was turning red silver under the sky. "He'd make a mess of me and frighten her away. And Mary would crush her self esteem." He mumbled.
"True, mother is harsh. And father is just insane…" He agreed scooting closer. "What would you do if she liked you back?" He asked softly, trying not to seem any more invasive then he already was.
His expression softened. "Honestly, i have no clue…"
"Would you ask her out?" He asked as if it was the obvious choice.
He exhaled heavy and sudden. "I don't think so…"
