(LOL competition to see who has worst parents)
(rotfl!!! Let's do that! Have them start up a conversation about their parents and just progressively make it a competition… until they both end up either laughing with each other or crying a little!)
(Yesss)
(Wanna start it?)
(ok!)
Hannah let out a soft chuckle as she looked at the menu. “My mom would have a fit if she knew I was here.” she admitted.
He raised a brow at her comment, hearing her soft chuckle. He grinned at her, "well my dad would probably kill me if he found out what I'm doing besides just being here, even what I'm wearing.'
Hannah looked back up at him, raising a brow. “Really? And what are you doing here that would warrant that kind of reaction?” she asked curiously as she didn't see anything wrong with his outfit.
He scoffs "a lot of things actually, like skipping school, not dressing or acting appropriately."
“Ah…” Hannah nodded. “I hadn’t even thought about what my parents would say about me skipping school.” she groaned. “Not to mention my “behavior” at the mall. I’d be grounded until I graduated.”
He scoffed once more, "grounded? I would be lucky if I was allowed to leave the house to do anything if they found out what I did at the mall.'
“Oh, no no no. I don't mean easy grounded with no tv, no internet stuff.” Hannah said, putting down her menu and looking straight at Kaz. “That’s an average day after school for me. In my parent's house, “grounded” means either one of them watches my every move like a hawk or I get locked in my room and only get released to go to school.”
"What you just described right there? That's my average after school do when I go home. I'm not allowed to have the key to lock my own door, and then make sure to lock my window and door at night so I can't sneak out and go somewhere against there will. Plus an extra add onto that I get to hear them always belittling my efforts or insulting me or saying I'm questioning or talking back to them."
“At least yours do that behind closed doors, even if you can still hear them. Mine go over all of that at dinner. “Your grades aren't good enough. Your hair is a mess. Don't slouch.” Name it, they’ve probably said it.”
"You think I meant behind closes doors? That's funny, they do it right infront of me any time they see me, and they also do it in private as well as public. If they are around I'm willing to bet they've said at least five insulting or backhanded things to me within the few seconds we had been there."
Hannah's eyes widened slightly, before giving a thoughtful nod. “Well… I can't say mine have said that stuff in public, mostly because we don't go out as a family or anything. Sometimes they’ll go out but they always leave me at home.”
"Oh trust me I would give anything for them to just leave behind once and a while, they always drag me with them because they don't trust me home alone at our house not to throw a party, which I haven't actually even once."
“Me either. I swear as soon as they get back, they go over everything in the house with a fine-toothed comb, and if they even find one hair out of place… You’d think a matter of national security was breached and they were CIA or something.”
"Yeah, if they find a hair out of place even if I was with them or on the rare chance that I was left alone i get severely punished. My dad especially loves punishing me." He glared at his hands. He fidgeted with his hands intensely. "He especially loves punishing my mom and blaming me for her pain.'
Hannah almost gasped at what he was implying. “I… I'm sorry.” she said softly, shrinking into her seat. “Some… Sometimes I almost wish my parents would… because then I would have evidence to report them… but I don't know if I actually would because… I wouldn't want to end up with someone worse.”
He scoffed, "I tried to call the police on him, but my mom took his side and blamed the bruises and black eye on me. Of course the cops don't listen to me so I got charged instead of him. I don't really have a choice…" you can he's really mad, he cleared his throat.
Hannah nodded sadly. “No offense, but that doesn't really surprise me.” she admitted gently. “And my parents would probably do the same thing if… You know. Say I was clumsy or something. I can't wait until I’m eighteen and legally able to move out.” she sighed.
He clears his throat once again, moving to sit up in his chair and move his shirt as if he was hot. He straightened himself in his chair again as if he was uncomfortable.
He nodded along though,
"Yeah no kidding me either."
He coughed into his hand, his eye twitching a little bit.
Hannah let out a shaky breath and took a drink of her water. “Though… realistically I'm not sure how I’d be able to afford it. I don't have a job or anything yet.” she added before noticing his reaction. “Hey… You ok, Kaz?”
He moves to pick up his water cup only for his hand to start shaking, little at first and then pretty intense as he starts to take a drink of water, spilling a good bit of it and struggles to put it back on the table.
"Hm? I'm fine-" He spoke, before he started gasping for air almost, wheezing and then his eyes rolled back into his head and he fell backwards out of his chair. His whole body had stopped moving.
“Kaz!” she exclaimed, quickly moving to his side. “Kaz! Wake up!” Hannah said, shaking his shoulder before reaching to check his pulse.
