(sure. Next day at school?)
(sure. Next day at school?)
(Yeah, do you mind starting?)
(Ok)
Hannah sighed, a little nervous, as she walked through the familiar halls. It probably felt slightly different from every other school day because she had slipped most of yesterday with Kaz and she was, consequently, a day behind on the rest of her classes… But she had to admit that yesterday had been fun.
He wasn't anywhere to be seen so far, at least not where Hannah was when she went through her school day.
However when she was in her fourth period she got pulled out of class to go the office.
Hannah was a little disappointed when she didn't see Kaz… not that she was expecting him to be at the door every time she looked but she had been hoping to see him at least once. All the same, she didn't let it distract her from her classes.
When she was taken out of her class because the principal wanted to see her, she was pretty nervous. She could count on one hand the number of times this had happened to her. Hopefully, this visit had nothing to do with her skipping so much of the school day yesterday.
When she got into the principals office she noticed Kazuya sitting in a chair, sunken half way in it. He didn't look happy, he looked very tired and very upset.
He noticed her, and looked away.
He mumbled something along the lines of sorry.
There was a very proper women sitting next to him, sitting up straight with a firm look on her face.
Her face was caked in makeup.
"Please, sit down." The president spoke.
When she saw Kaz in the office, with the woman she assumed was his mother, Hannah swore her heart jumped into her throat. This definitely was not going to be a good day now. She let out a calming breath a politely took a seat when the Principal addressed her.
"i was recently informed by Kazuya's mother, that you two skipped the entire second half of school yesterday, is this true?"
he was leaving room for her to speak as she sat down.
"I'm sure she will lie, I don't imagine the people my son hangs out with to be honest, or even good."
he just sank in his chair.
Hannah bit her lip at the principal's statement though she managed not to glare at the woman's bristling accusation. “Yes, sir. We did.” she confessed softly, knowing they were already caught. “And with all due respect, ma’am, there is no need for such assumptions. Or do you just have so little confidence in your son?” she said calmly, still maintaining a respectful tone.
The principal let out a soft sigh, "Hannah…your a good student. So why on earth did you skip school yesterday? This behavior isn't like you."
He rubbed his face.
The moms face was all scrunched up, "well I might as well! He makes me loose more confidence in him everyday with the way he acts, and now I find he's skipping school to hang out with some girl he's never mentioned before!"
Kazuya was sinking In his seat.
Hannah rubbed her wrist, unsure how exactly to answer the principal's question. But she forced herself to say something. “I don't have an excuse for my behavior. Other than the possibility of wanting a bit of an adventure for the first time in my life.”
Answering the mother's on the other hand was much easier. “Kaz and I just met yesterday so he had no reason to mention me.” she said simply as she chose not to mention that yesterday was also her first time playing hooky. Though perhaps it wasn't necessary to say it.
"You could have easily have sought that elsewhere." He shook his head disappointedly.
The mother just scoffed softly, "they need to be punished! And not just regular detention either!"
He rubbed his face, "yes ma'am. We will go over there punishments at a later date. For now they will get Friday school.'
“Yes, sir.” Hannah acknowledged softly, biting her tongue at how Kaz's mother seemed so eager to tear down her own son and not care what happens to anyone else. Her face paled slightly when she realized that, of course, the principal was going to tell her parents about… everything. And she dreaded what her parents would do to her.
Kazuya just seemed very deflated as his mother spoke.
She stood up, brushing herself off with a huff. "You best tell the girls parents as well! They need to know what kind of child they have been raising." She looked at her with disgust, before moving to leave.
The principal exhaled, "I will be telling your parents unfortunately, however since you kids are good students I will lessen the punishments."
Hannah clenched her hands into white-knuckled fists, doing everything she could not to rise to the arrogant, vicious harpy’s snide comments. Though her face was no doubt starting to show her own frustration and disgust. She closed her eyes and let out a slow breath before nodding gratefully at the principal's minor assurance. “Thank you, sir.”
"Your dismissed though I expect you to show up to detention." He sighed softly.
Kazuya immediately got up and left without a word.
“Yes, sir.” Hannah acknowledged, standing and quickly followed after Kaz. “Are you alright?” she whispered once they were out of the office.
Kazuya seemed to pull away from her, trying to loose her in the crowd.
"Just…forget you knew me." He muttered to her, before speeding off and trying to loose her in the crowd
Hannah ran up to him and grabbed his wrist. “I can give you two words to tell you why I can't. And anyway, why should I?” she asked firmly. “Just because your mon is a Karen and got us both in trouble? I can handle it.”
He pulled his wrist away from her.
"I know we're soulmates, but you don't want to be apart of this family. Trust me. Now if you would leave me alone that would be appreciated."
“I don't care. We're in the same boat. Your mom doesn't like me, I can't say I like her either, but I strongly doubt my parents will like you, and I… I’m almost sure you wouldn't like them.” she argued, standing her ground on this. “Yesterday was the best day of my life and I would do it again, regardless of the trouble.”
"It's only going to go downhill from here if you continue to hang out with me, you know that right?" He looked at her with a sad but hopeful look in his eyes.
“That doesn't surprise me.” she nodded with a sigh. “But I'm used to low points, I would like to fight for some higher ones and that would make them sweeter. Wouldn't it?”
He just seemed to grin at her, "yeah that would. I still am sorry about my mom though."
She smiled softly back and shook her head slightly. “Don't apologize. It's not your fault she's… like that.” she cleared her throat at the awkwardness of the statement. “But I am curious how she found out about me, and the two of us skipping school.” she admitted, not judging or blaming him for anything.
