Alex was still frowning a little bit. "Danny…" he let out a breath. "It really isn't…I don't think it's your fault." he said again, shaking his head.
Alex was still frowning a little bit. "Danny…" he let out a breath. "It really isn't…I don't think it's your fault." he said again, shaking his head.
"You don't have to, but like- it's fine. It's fine. I'm just gonna deal with this like the grown ass man I am." Danny shrugged. "Not.. not a problem."
Alex was still frowning. "Danny…" He said slowly. "It isn't…it doesn't sound like it's your fault, why…"
"Dude, I'm fine. Just.. I'm fine. You're doin' your own shit right now, right? You should do that." Danny mumbled, sipping his drink again. He was draining it fast, which was strange, considering he had barely been touching it just a few minutes before.
Alex bit his lip. "Are you…I…okay." he said slowly. "I see. I just wanted to help, if that was possible."
"I know, man. I really do appreciate it, it's just - I don't know how to deal with this. 'Cause I guess subconsciously I know it isn't my fault, but.. I dunno. I just sorta feel .. I dunno." Danny sounded exhausted as he spoke.
He frowned a little bit again, shaking his head. "Danny, it isn't your fault." he said again. "I…I know that much. It isn't your fault."
"Yeah. Thanks, Alex." Danny flagged Patty down again, ordering another drink.
"Sorry, honey, but no. I don't think you're in the right state to be drinkin'. I'm gonna cut you off, alright? Just finish your water." Patty said softly, pulling away Danny's alcohol and pushing his water closer to him.
"Yeah. Okay. Thanks, Pat." Danny rested his elbows on the bar, and his head in his hands. "Sorry for bein' a fucken' bummer tonight, man, I know that's not.. normal. For me."
Alex shrugged. "It's fine. We all have our off days." he replied with a faint smile.
"Thanks." Danny responded. He looked around the bar again. "Hey- uh- I'm gonna grab my guitar. I don't want anybody to fuck with it while I'm gone."
"Yeah, of course." he stepped back a little bit. "Go get it, then." he took another sip of his own drink, letting out a breath.
"Yeah." Danny got off the bar stool, though he had to take a moment after his vision blacked. Stood up too fast. He walked off to the stage area, grabbing his guitar case and coming back over, ignoring the one or two people trying to talk to him or get his attention.
Alex had ended up sitting down again, his legs dangling down towards the ground. Surprisingly enough, or maybe not so surprisingly, his legs weren't long enough for his feet to touch the ground, and he looked comically small, perched on the bar stool.
Danny sat back down, setting the guitar case between his legs. He took another sip of his water.
Alex looked over at him. "Hi." he greeted simply, swinging his feet a little bit.
"Hey." Danny looked down to see Alex swinging his feet on the bar stool. He couldn't help but crack a smile. His own feet reached the ground, so this was something somewhat amusing. "So- we haven't.. like.. talked. Tonight. How's it goin'?"
Alex laughed a little bit. "It's been going fine." He replied with a nod, feet still swinging idly.
"..Sick. Yeah. That's dope." Danny rubbed his eyes, fiddling with one of the latches on his guitar case.
"You sure you're alright?" he asked, looking over at Danny.
"Think so. I think I just gotta think over some stuff later, y'know?" Danny shrugged.
Alex nodded a little bit. "Yeah, I get that." he replied, taking another sip of his drink, then realizing maybe he should slow down.
"I dunno." Danny laughed slightly, taking another sip of his water. "Kinda brought down the mood, didn't I? That sucks." He gave Alex a small grin.
He laughed a little, pushing his drink away and shrugging. "Mm. It's fine."
"Thanks." Danny picked his napkin off from the counter, crushing it in his hands. He set it down to pick at a fresh-looking scab on his knuckle.
Alex got a water, taking a sip of that. He knew not to drink too much more. He didn't weigh enough for too much alcohol at once.
