(Lol. It’s fine.
Should she have called Bryce when he’s at work, or are they at home?)
(Calling Bryce while he's at work would be nice. xD)
When Bryce received a frantic call while at work, he did his best to calm his fiancée down with gentle words.
“Joy… Joy, honey, just take a deep breath, okay? What’s going on?” he asked softly.
Joy bit her lower lip, glad that there weren’t any contractions. Her back ached, but that was it. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
“My—Bryce—oh Lord,” she gasped, tears welling at the corner of her eyes. It was actually time. Ambrose would be in their arms soon. “Mywaterbroke. My water broke, Bryce.”
Bryce cursed under his breath and stood up. “Can you make it to the hospital? Or should I come pick you up? I’m not far, so it won’t take long. That way we only have one vehicle there, too. Plus, I don’t think you should be driving right now, anyway,” he rambled as he looked for his boss.
“Bryce, Bryce, calm down,” Joy said, though she was freaking out, too. “I put on a maternity pad. I can ask someone to drive me to the hospital. I just wanted you to know. And I still haven’t been able to clean and… Bryce, oh my God, it broke.”
“I know, babe… Any time now, and we’ll have our son,” Bryce breathed, finally catching his boss. “Hey, I’m going to let you go, okay? I’m going to come pick you up quick as soon as I talk to my manager.”
“Okay,” Joy breathed out. She wanted to change as soon as possible, and clean the mess on the floor.
“I’ll see you in a few. Love you. Bye,” Bryce said, waiting for her response before hanging up. He explained the situation to his boss before getting the okay to go home.
(hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
(hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
(Lol. You okay there, T?)
Joy felt like she was dying. Every little section of her body hurt, and she felt ridiculously dirty. Her face was covered with tear stains, her breathing heavy.
“Bryce…” she whispered, no strength to cry or even talk. “Ambrose… I want to see him…”
“He’s right here, beautiful. He’s right here,” Bryce breathed as the nurse handed their son to Joy. His own face was tear-stained, though a smile was present on his lips. “He’s perfect, Joy…”
Joy winced as she tried to sit up, but found no strength to do so, so she laid back down and gently took Ambrose in her arms.
The tears she thought she had used up ran down her cheeks the second she looked at their son. He was sleeping peacefully, breathing even, looking absolutely perfect. A sob escaped Joy’s lips as she reached over to kiss his cheek, hiccuping as she did so.
“My baby boy…” she sobbed, trying to take deep breaths. “Bryce, he’s beautiful. Oh my God, I’m holding our son. It’s our son, Bryce…”
(I'm sobbing)

“I know, babe, I know… Gosh, he’s perfect. He’s amazing. You’re amazing,” Bryce breathed, sitting on the edge of the bed before bending down to kiss her forehead and then kiss Ambrose’s.
Joy sniffled, her tears not stopping or slowing down.
“Thank you…” she whispered, shaking. “For giving me such a blessing, Bryce…”
Beyce chuckled softly and reached out to wipe the tears from her cheeks with his thumb. “You did most of the work. You brought this wonder into the world… Gosh, you’re amazing, Joy.”
“Do you want to hold him?” She whispered, looking up at him with tired, red eyes.
Bryce grinned widely and held his arms out for his baby boy. “Please?” he whispered.
Joy held out Ambrose for Bryce to take, a big smile on her tired features.
Once Ambrose was safety in the arms of his father, Joy looked at him, happiness coursing through her.
Bruce grinned down at the tiny child in his arms. This was his son. His son… And he was beautiful…
“Hey, little Ambrose. I’m so glad to see you face-to-face. It’s nice to have you in my arms,” he murmured to his son.
Joy smiled softly, her eyes dropping slowly as she saw Bryce talk to their baby. Her heart swelled in her chest and she stifled a yawn. Before she knew it, her eyes closed and she fell asleep, her body aching all the way.
